Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

Frith - huge hugs to you. It sounds to me that you've got good reasons to feel bad today, but I'm sure it will all blow over soon.

miss_emmajane - welcome to the thread!

    1) I woke up this morning without a headache, rather to my surprise given the amount of wine I drank at yesterday's pub quiz. :o

    2) My mobile phone still (mostly) works, despite taking a nose-dive into mog's water bowl yesterday evening. (Pleasures 1 and 2 are possibly connected. :o)

    3) Took advantage of some online sales to get a few bits - there was nothing I strictly needed (although I must look for a new CD player tomorrow as mine's broken and I need it for my OU studies) but everything was heavily discounted and I either used vouchers or got cashback on it all as well. :money:

    4) I've got a highly experimental spiced sausage and lentil stew cooking, using some ginger sausages my DF gave me to try. It smells pretty good at the moment.

    5) Another pub quiz tonight. :) I intend to take it a little easier on the alcohol this time, though - I don't think my mobile will survive a second dunking! :o

Have a very pleasant evening all.
Back after a very long break!

Frith - this is still control and manipulation that he is exerting over you. Sadly, he is using your sons to do his bidding. Hurtful as it is, try and ignore the comments that he is getting your sons to use in a war of words. You are in a much better place now and stronger too. Don;t look back, go forward with renewed optimism and faith that you are doing everything right.

    1. Went into work today :( but on the flip side we only needed to do six hours so we left at 2.15pm :T
    2. Came home and had a lovely cup of tea while watching it lash it down with rain outside and blowing a hooley!
    3. Done two loads of washing and sat and prepared a list of housework jobs for tomorrow.
    4. Cuddles with the woofaloes and horses. Horses are tucked up in their stables munching two nice big nets of hay and hayledge.
    5. I am still listening to the wind blowing hard outside knowing that I don't have to go out in it.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D
  • Good evening all !

    Welcome - missemmajane :)

    Frith -
((hugs)) to you. Your ex is stuck and I feel he always will be . You have been the "constant" in your sons life and they will realise this . I appreciate that it is painful now , but you have come so far !! The scars of "other stuff " still smart now and then ,but one day it will feel like it happened to someone else in another lifetime xx

    5 for today

    1. The fence panel blew down again, but the hens were all in at the time so no damage done. OH used a staple gun to secure some netting over the gap until it is fixed.

2.Made some brocolli and stilton soup sometimes it can taste a bit "sicky" but it was quite subtle.

    3. Working my way through the stuff in my bulging fridge and menu planning and will not resort to throwing any out .

4.Eating some yummy vegetarian snacky type stuff as I type .

    5. A lazy end to a lazy day ...:rotfl:

    Have a good evening all
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Hello missemmajane, lovely to 'meet' you, and mmmm, your sausage mushroom thing sounds nice, could you post the recipe? I can adapt for veggie sausages I'm sure :)

Frith - *sigh* your stupid ex, what a baaalamb :( Actually, I mistyped and put "my" stupid ex, as mine has annoyed me, but in a very minor way in comparison. Concentrate on how fabulous YOU and your children are NOW and what a warped, silly goose, your ex is. Deep cleansing breaths and big hugs hon x

Guess what....I'm feeling human again, woohoo! Such a relief to get up and not want to go back under the duvet straight away. However, OH is here now, and it's his turn to be dying of man flu....bless him, he does sound rough so I've put him to bed ;) and he can stay there til our soup is ready, I don't want his germs back!

    1. Did a good deed for the day and was very nice to someone driving to work (just polishing my halo now!)
    2. Paid in £2.86 cheque to my “challenge pot” (see my signature)
    3. Took in scrummy lunch and turned down an invitation to join the other few people in the office for lunch in a restaurant - it was a bit of a relief as I can't afford it anyway, and the food was bound to be pub standard but restaurant quality....
    4. no spend day (not sure why this is in tiny type!)
    5. Made my doctor laugh by being possibly a bit too open about stuff! But hey, I finally got all my repeat prescriptions, so it was worth it :)
    6. Yippee!! OH is here :);):)
    7. Managed to find most of the information I need to answer solicitor's questions for the people buying my house and should have the rest when offices are open again next week. Phew!
    8. An old neighbour who is also a removals chap popped in to give me a quote and I was pleasantly surprised. Now all I need to do is (a) save for it and (b) persuade my dad that him doing it all himself is NOT a good idea!
    9. Lovely chat with DD as she's up at my parents and I'm now not home alone, well for tonight at least, if OH coughs and splutters his way through the night as he probably will, I'll boot him back home tomorrow!! So heartless......but I know from my own experience, that if you're feeling that rubbish, its better to be in your bed, alone, and not having to think about being polite to your beloved, you can cough and splutter in peace!
  • At the risk of sounding dramatic I received a letter today that has had me crying on and off all day, Mr PK is being wonderfully supportive but I am an emotional wreck today, I received a letter and court papers at the same time telling me that because I have been unable to make mortgage payments recently I am off to court despite keeping the mortgage company informed, with a hearing date and the first thing I heard of it was today. Scared stiff and worried silly almost covers it. When I have calmed a little I will make appointments with council/shelter and a solicitor I guess.:(:(:(
    Despite the above:-

    I am warm and inside
Had a lovely pie for tea – comfort food
Able to talk and share problems even if I am a bit emotional today
    Cheery Christmas lights still up
    Animal cuddles.

Oh PK, what horrible news, hopefully it's a nasty pro forma thing that the mortgage company do, and if you call them/get a solicitor/shelter to call them, it can be stayed/withdrawn from court? Wish I could do something practical to help you, and will be praying for you x

Oh PK and Frith! You both have had such horrid days! There is nothing that I can say to make things any better for you... So...
I hope tomorrow brings you both some sunshine and good tidings.
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • miss_emmajane sausage, bean and mushroom potato bake that sounds Yummy could I have the recipe please?

sparrer It's not my recipe I found it somewhere on here but I cant remember who posted it I hope noone minds me posting it

    Banana Bread
You can play around with the ingrediants, use less sugar,
part whole wheat flour, add cinnamon or nutmeg, etc. I have also
used other over-ripe fruits like pears and it turned out fantastic.
In the breadmaker bucket, put in any order:
    2-3 over-ripe bananas
    1 cup (or less) sugar
    3 tbsp veg oil
    2 eggs
    2 cups self-raising flour
Put on pizza cycle for about 5 mins - scrape down the corners with a spatula about
1/2 way through to make sure everything is mixed.
Put on bake cycle for 55 mins.

I have posted it as I found it on here I used Pears instead of Bananas but also made it with Bananas and it was yummy.

A free copy of the girl with a dragon tattoo wow!! I saw the film it was awsome

Dear God!!!! :( What a utterly pants time!

I am not 'up' on this sort of thing, but speak with Citizens Advice and see what they can do for you. Try and stay clam because when you are feeling wrought you will not think straight and you head will become 'frazzled'.

Make sure you have all the documents with you and that may even mean getting telephone print out statements to show that you have been in contact with them.

The only thing I can say is that the banks/building societies are giving no leeway to anyone who falls behind even if that means three months. Years ago I knew of someone who never paid a flipping ha'penny towards their mortgage payments (he lost his job just after getting the house) and he lived there for 12 months or so before the courts evicted him!

Hang on in there kiddo we are all behind you - have a look for help on the other money forums for mortgages as well as they will be able to offer constructive help to you.
