Evening
PK - Hugs to you, glad you got some advice today
Pleasures for today,
1. Another lovely lie in, getting up at 6 again next week is going to be so hard
2. Beans on toast for breakfast using HM bread
3. NSD
4. Using up some more bits out of the freezer for dinner.
5. Making some plans for tomorrow night with some friends
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Just in from a super evening with a lovely couple, but exhausted as it was a long, horribly wet drive along miles of country lanes which I've never driven before.
1. See above - I didn't get lost!
2. Weighed myself this morning, haven't put on any weight over Christmas
3. nsd
4. cleared out the food cupboard and put together a bag of bits for the night shelter
5. Wallace and Gromit, for some reason it just hit the spot today and I laughed like a drain
Sleep tight

PK, that's so good that you've begun making phone calls and getting things in order. I'm keeping everything crossed that all will work out well. Shelter's housing people were brilliant when I had problems with our last house. They really knew their stuff and left me feeling so much more confident and aware of my rights.
Sparrer, I've just looked at your sig with your weight loss on it. That is brilliant - a really significant amount but lost over a sensibly long period of time. You must be feeling very pleased with yourself. It's given me incentive to lose a bit of weight this coming year.
Five pleasures from me for Friday.
1. Sitting and enjoying the last evening of little twinkling Christmas tree lights in the corner of this room. The tree will be taken down and put away tomorrow morning.
2. Getting 'stuff' to the dump that has been sitting around occupying space eg my dead computer printer and my dangerous hairdryer (got a new 'safe' one of those for Xmas).
3. Doing loads of price comparisons between our local supermarket and the food co-op catalogue. I ran a wholefood co-op years ago and I'd planned to set up another one last year but it didn't happen. I'm definitely planning to get it going this year so I'm surrounded by spreadsheets and sums.
4. Deciding to join the 'Debt Free' NSD challenge. I've settled on trying for 16 NSDs in January. I reckon that half a month without visiting the shops is doable. DS1 is keen on the idea too,
5. Enjoying that feeling of 'getting organised' again for the new year.
Sleep well

Hi all, been away for a few days.
Hello to new people, hugs to those in need and get well soon to others.
Mine for a few days
1. Dad's 80th went really well and he behaved himself - phew
2. Nice to see the family all together for a happy reason
3. A lovely day at home, before we went away and after the family left, with no-one to bother us.
4. The evening with my sister and BIL
5. Last evening with my SIL and BIL - and me not having a hangover today despite their best endeavours
6. Having my favourite niece to stay for a few days.
7. A stupid discussion with dad yesterday when he was insisting that neither Greece nor Spain could be counted as European - had me :rotfl:Cantankerous old booger, I'm still :rotfl:
Happy New Year all.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Yesterday's goodies:
1. Did LOADS of decluttering in the loft and discovered things that I forgot were there that will come in handy at the new house
2. Took a car boot load of stuff to the charity shop
3. Nice chats with DD, who is counting down the minutes to her return as I've said she can have a sleep in my bed when I'm all better!
4. Low spend day - went to A$da to pick up some clothes I'd ordered for her, got a refund on most of them, as I saw the pink version of the grey coat I bought her for only £2!!She now has 2 pairs of jeans, PJs and a coat to grow into for less than £10
5. OH spent the whole day fast asleep or awake and groaning about feeling carp on the sofa bed, which in a way made me do more around the house as I didn't want to leave him (until I got bored and went to the charity shop/A$da, there's only so long I can do the quiet mouse girlfriend act for, lol).
6. Went out to a friend's last night for dinner with the girls and had a lovely time, great food, lots of wine, lots of laughs - it was my NYE I reckon!
OH is starting to get better but there's no way he'll be going out tonight, I may go and get us some nice food and maybe a film from the DVD shop and we can snuggle up - or if he's still off his food, I can make more of my fabulous bean soup and save my pennies!0 -
Afternoon, everyone, thanks, chicken I am having a fab time! Chalet lovely, people lovely. Rather too much snow, but better than no snow at all! Didn't venture too far today as 3 valleys links were closed (avalanche risk was 5/5) so did some nice tree lined runs this morning, stopped for lunch, did a bit more, then sent OH back to the chalet as his legs were tired and I headed over to courchevel to play in the powder! Just arrived back for a snooze
Heading out later to watch a torchlit descent down the mountain (ESF instructors) and some fireworks
Hope everyone is well, hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
A Very Happy New Year’s eve and I hope everyone enjoys their celebrations.
1. We went to Tesco’s last night and picked up rather a lot of yellow label items, but ridiculously cheap for Tesco all items were from 12p to max of a £1, lots of things we needed lots of things we will try just cause, and meat for the freezer. You should have heard the huffs and sighs of the checkout lady. Some weird and wonderful stuff, Wensleydale and port sandwich filler 15p, Christmas ham 15p, you get the idea most of it has stocked up the freezer it’s our version of the sales this year.
2. Proper bakery bread in door wedge slices scrumptious.
3. Home Made Sweet and Sour Chicken with Chips.
4. Mr PK and I are off later dressed up to the nines to celebrate at a party we are invited to, we are going to enjoy the next few days because after that we have a lot to deal with, so tonight/tomorrow and Monday we enjoy.
5. Animal Cuddles.0 -
Evening all.
I'm struggling a bit for pleasures today as a stonkingcame out of nowhere yesterday evening and has had me sniffling and snuffling all day.
Let's try for a few, though:
1) Bacon roll for brunch - bacon was another of my yellow sticky bargains yesterday.
2) Did some studying this afternoon and was very pleased to find that this section seems much more interesting than the last two.
3) HM pizza for dinner tonight: I've gone for 4 cheese to use up some of yesterday's bargains.
4) Neither I nor any of my friends really 'do' new year, so I can curl up at home tonight without feeling guilty, possibly with a glass of HM damson gin (just as a cold remedy, obviously).
Have a fantastic evening, all, whether at home or out and about (the torch-lit procession sounds fab, Millie).
Back after a very long break!0 -
Hello everyone. Even more tenuous 5 OS pleasures, especially as one of them is a necessary evil (see point 1!):
1) Ironing completed, for now!
2) More items found for British Heart Foundation bag (must remember to put it outside on Wednesday!).
3) Feeling virtuous as we are down to 1 car as of yesterday, with DH starting a new job on Tuesday which he'll travel to by train so had to give his company car back.
4) Good quality book reading time. The benefits of the weekend!
5) Checked for recipes and general motivation for OS weight loss thread on http://www.rosemaryconley.tv/
See, told you they were tenuous!
