CCP and Sparrar: Hugs and a hot drink to help the illnesses I hope you are feeling better soon.
Chickenopolis: I’m not too far from Tun. Wells and the place is quite dull.
Mille2008: It sounds like an amazing trip
MHagster:- Glad to hear you are all safe and sound.
Not really a NSD as we had to fill the car with petrol, but it was the lowest price I’ve seen it in the past year!
A lovely evening last night, last night we did not drink at all only tea/soft drink, I didn’t want to get depressed and drunk putting it bluntly. It was weird watching all the other people there so “out of it” by the end of the evening, we had a smug feeling of we won’t be hung over! I can’t believe it was 4am by the time we made a move and there were still a lot of people around and on the roads / walking.
A Bacon sandwich with “proper” butchers bacon.
Found I’ve not gained or lost weight.
Watching Gullivers Travels, made me realise I don’t know the original and should make the effort get it from the library!
I’m about to cook a roast chicken dinner! How late is it, but does it matter??:):)0 -

2. Took the old 2011 calendar down and put all the new important dates onto the new calendar and hung that up.
3. Sat and had a cup of tea and a mince pie while having a read of one of my horse magazines.
4. Made dinner tonight of roast beef and yorkshire puds etc. Really enjoyed that.
5. Going to have a relaxing New Years night just doing nothing very much. I have a list of things to get done tomorrow, which is do-able.Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Happy new year everyone! :j
My five pleasures today:
1) Found more things for the charity bag.
2) Started a new book on my Kindle, which was one of the 99p books.
3) Discovered a way, via my teaching union membership to get extra spending vouchers for shops. (I've got enough money for an ipod, which I've been saving up for, but if I can save money on it then BONUS!).
4) Nasty wash done (ie underwear). Takes an age to hang up to dry!
5) About to have a lovely long bath!Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0 -
Happy New Year everyone, sounds like lots of people had a great time out. I was asleep before 12pm, was lying in bed watching something rubbish and struggling to keep my eyes open, and just thought, why am I bothering? OH is still 'dying' on the sofabed downstairs, DD is at my parents etc etc, just enjoy a good sleep - so I did, until 9:30am!!
1, No spend day - hoorah! The temptation was there and I have a basket of goodies on the AppFood website but I am going to resist as I don't NEED the stuff, just want it
2. Went back into the loft and threw down a car load of old boxes and other junk which I took to the tip - yup, I know how to party!!
3. Dropped a parcel to go back to Evans to a local shop that does return collections, phew, that'll be loads off the credit card bill when it arrives back with them
4. OH has managed to get up today, hoorah!! He's still dying, but as I'm still not 100%, it's not surprising that he is awake for about an hour at a time, then needs to crash out again.
5. DD has asked if she can stay an extra day with my parents so she can have more cuddles with them, and she'll come back on her Inset day on Tuesday, which means I can get into the office and leave early when she returnsSeeing this as a pleasure rather than that she doesn't want to come home.....but am a little sad if truth be told!
6. I've just made me and OH a scrumptious soup in Percy the Pressure Cooker, nomnomnom. as I thought DD was returning with my dad at lunchtime tomorrow, there's plenty left.0 -
A very Happy new year to everyone. My five OS pleasures today
1) Me, my OH and two DDs had a wonderful homemade lunch at my mum's house. Including roasted chestnuts..... my absolute favs
2) We had to drive from south London to North London. Due to the Lord Mayor's Parade, we had to take a completely different route It was great to see a completely different part of this beautiful city and it didn't take any longer than usual.
3) Mum gave me lots of food to take home.... yippeeee no need to think about dinner tonight or tomorrow as it is already sorted (homemade lasagna and leftover roast beef)
4) Singing in the car with my two daughters on the journey home....... we laughed so much. Glad OH was driving.
5) Hanging up my new 2012 calendar and filling in the important dates.0 -
Evening Ladies,
Hope 2012 is treating you all well so far. I'm still barking like a dog with this annoying cough.
1) Slice of plum tartin for breakfast... Yum.
2) Smooth drive home from my friend's house
3) Afternoon nap while watching a movie
4) Baked some bread rolls
5) Carried on project tidy flat. The lounge is now presentable. I just have to tackle to kitchen in the morning.
6) Spent most of the day relaxing on the sofa. Am particularly enjoying "The Hotel" at the moment.
Night all.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Happy 2012 to everyone!
And a  to CCP's mum, if you're around!
Miss_emmajane, hope you feel better soon.
Please, what is a NPD? All I can think of is that it's a day when you don't pee at all, which doesn't sound much fun... someone please enlighten me!
My pleasures for today:
1. Enjoying a glass of chilled white wine.
2. Hearing that a friend has got engaged. Yay!
3. Yummy bean and vegetable curry with brown rice tonight.
4. Being organised and cooking a batch of chickpeas for tomorrow.
5. Happy memories of a fun night with friends last night. The mulled berry punch went down very well!
6. Working well on my novel and getting to grips with a difficult part, rewriting a section concerning police procedure. Not something I have any direct knowledge of, of course! :rotfl:
7. Avoiding procrastination and doing a session on my new cross trainer.
8. Biting the bullet and starting making an effort to improve my truly appalling typing by using some free software I have. I've tried many times before to get better, without success.
9. Reading more of the novel I borrowed from the library. Not my usual sort of thing and the characters are grating a bit on me but I'll persevere.
10. Something I want to do this year is pursue a self-directed course of study, reading up on various topics. I'm starting with psychology, as that should help with the novel writing. Got going with a basic textbook on the subject.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0
