Ladyhawk and sparrer - glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better
5 for today
1. Enjoying that fact that I don't have to be back at work until 3rd Jan 2012 ( sorry Ladyhawk );). But body still wakes up at work o'clock :rotfl:
2. Pottered in the garden and picked a butternut squash and cleaned out the hen houses - it was so mild today .
3. Laughing at all 10 hens dustbathing in the compost . The pure white "guest hen" is now a dirty shade of brown. Took some photos for her owner to see.
4.Enjoyed watching the racing on tv again at Chepstow - especially the dead heat in the first race I saw .Not that common in National Hunt racing .
5. Lentil dahl for tea with some Christmassy bits . Very nice !
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Pleased that the poorly people are feeling a bit better and pleased that your dad is home PK. Good vibes for his continued recovery and hugs to you xx
Welcome, Libretia!
Mine for today
1. Slept in til 9am!! Woke at 3am, with mind whirring, got back to sleep at 6ish, so probably needed it!
2. Nice, leisurely mooch around, sorting house and animals
3. Few hours out with OH. We went to Broadway and he treated me to lunch in a nice pub, with open fire, etc. Then he treated me to my birthday pressie, over 3 months late, my fault, some new Ugg boots.
4. Admired/stroked some yummy Emma Bridgewater mugs in my fave shop. If I ever get to own any, I am not sure I'd dare to use them. They are stunning though!
5. We ate leftovers for dinner again tonight, together with some yummy mini, chewy meringues that mum made
Hugs to anyone in need xx0 -

Hello all, here's mine for the last couple of days...
1. A very relaxed, peaceful Christmas with my lovely children, I know I am very fortunate to have them.
2. Spent 4 and a half hours today just talking with friends who had been kind enough to invite us to tea.
3. NSD.
4. Both children thanked me for everything as they went to bed on Christmas day.
5. A Downton feast today, making my way through the dvd as I have never been able to catch the programme before.

It's lovely catching up on people's pleasures after the break.
Hope everyone who has been poorly and PK's dad continue to feel better.
Yet another quiet day for us so five quiet pleasures:
1. Having another NSD and NPD. (I am not counting Amazon gift money in this!)
2. Having an email dialogue which has made me smile with the wormery people today about how worms fare in cold weather. I've settled for buying the worms' 'mansion' (on Amazon special offer atm) and getting a voucher for worms when it gets warmer.
3. Experimenting with miso soup at lunchtime and managing to put all of the remaining veggiebox chard in it. Tasty. And I roasted all the parsnips as well and cooked the red cabbage as a side dish so once I've made bottom of fridge soup tomorrow lunchtime I will have cleared out most of the veg ready for tomorrow's box delivery.
4. Getting lots of washing done and dried indoors on the rack.
5. Listening to lots of radio drama on and off while I've been doing other things.
Sweet dreams

Hi all, been at my mum's for a couple of days, so here are mine for the last few:
1. Came back today, after 5 days away. My neighbour was supposed to feed the cats while I was away but I realised with horror that she hadn't been in at all when I got back. Cat food untouched, bowls licked clean  It's not her fault - her father died a week ago and she had gone abroad for the funeral and has since had a house full of family. Anyway, one of the cats came back after calling them, and she was utterly ravenous. After 3 long hours of calling, walking about fields in the mud with a headtorch and wellies and crying, the other one crept in and started eating. I now have a happy lil gang curled up with me
2. My mum's was utter chaos but it was so great to see the whole family again, and play with my lovely nieces and nephew
3. We all went out for Christmas meal. Such a HUGE treat - never been done before - but sooo worth saving up for!
4. Went for a very virtuous 10-mile run yesterday. I was extremely pleased with myself after all the excesses of the previous days!!
5. I bagged a whole heap of pressies online last night in the sales for next year!:money:

ninnoodle - welcome back
I am sorry to hear about the cats
- glad that you found them and fed them and they have settled now that you are home x
I couldn't wait to tell you - I sat next to one of my sisters on Christmas day unwrapping presents ... guess what my other sister had given her ??? You got it .....coat hangers :rotfl::AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
ninoodle: at least your cats are still talking to you!
I've had a quite, lovely day apart from losing my car keys! They'll turn up!
1. Sun shining but not too hot, a most pleasant 21o........expect the moaning Mhagster to return soon.....to heat up again!
2.Washing & ironing done.
3.Sorted through dresser drawers, recycled lots of paper & bag of stuff for Op shop.
4.Wrote 2 letters (this is when I discovered lost keys....was going to post office for stamps but that will have to wait).
5.Have made: lentil soup, lasagne, chicken (in slow cooker for first time ever) ,sweet potato mash, apple & pear tart, rhubarb crumble & mincemeat pies. All done to the sound of music! I bought a CD/radio/Ipod docking machine last night, mega reduced. I always had a radio in kitchen at home but our DAB radios never worked here. So I sang all day as I cooked & tidied. All my food was RTC.
Enjoy your day x0 -

Mhags could your DH/DS have put your your keys down somewhere, as they went out for a driving lesson in your car? Just a thought
Chicken - just had the 'coughing fit cos laughing so much' syndrome re the coathangers :rotfl:
Hope everyone is feeling good, back later with my 50
