Merry Christmas everyone!!
Just popped on here having 5 min break from the kitchen. We woke up early this morning and opened our presses, then I did a cooked breakfast for everyone -we had bucks fizz too, CCP!
Going to bring the ponies in early and tuck them up in their PJs with huuuuge haynets, then coming home to cook. We don't eat til 5 ish on Christmas day, so no pressure. The bit I am most excited about is mum's bread sauce. Easily pleased, me!
I hope you all have a lovely day, wherever you are and whatever you're doing
Tinselly hugs to anyone in need xx0 -
:xmastree::xmassign: To YOU ALL XXX
millie - I would say did Santa get you a pony? , but your cup overfloweth in that department !!:D
mhagster - gosh - I would have driven my car in to my lounge to avoid that hail x
CCP -You are welcome !I am just over an hour and a half away from you , so would love to meet you and SFO next year , if I dress as a plumber your mog will like me too.
5 already for today
1. Santa was very generous to me this year . Got some lovely stuff , I am lucky.
2. Phoned my nephew who is working today , he was pleasantly surprised as we have not seen or spoken to each other since my Dad's funeral in 2005. Life gets in the way so to speak.. I heard a smoke alarm going off in the background when I was talking to him on the phone and he said it was his parrot :rotfl:It was bliddy good!!
3. Hens mucked out early this morning "animals before humans" and all. They "wrapped" up some cliniq** , perfume and chocolate for me - clever huh !
4. I have just left my Mums house and there were 17 of us in the lounge . Need some head space so have popped back home for a bit .It was lovely but a bit claustrophobic iyswim - not many of them are under 6ft so there were limbs everywhere :rotfl:. I will go back for another bout in a bit!!
5. Having roast beef later today with all of the trimmings with just my Mum and OH . My favourite part of the day !!
Have an indulgent fabulous day all !!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Full right to the very top it must be time for a nap with the OH. Enough left overs for oh so many meals I can't even think about at the moment

Evening Ladies,
Well that's over and done with for another year... Phew! My SIL was annoying as usual. She tried to tell me that she knows better than I do about what MY name means and its origin. Then she told me how silly I was to bother with cashback sites - cos of all the emails they send you (??? I know!!!). I replied if they had money to waste why not give it directly to me!
1) Got two lovely cookery books from my brothers - looking forward to reading them. Also got a new suitcase and some diving gear.
2) Baked 42 mince pies this morning... Nom nom nom
3) Cuddles from my gorgeous nephew
4) Skype with my parents... Not easy with a whinging 9 month old, 3 brothers and 2 SILs all trying to talk at once.
5) Getting home just before 9pm so I can get some decent sleep before hitting the sales tomorrow!
Night night... Sleep tight.

1. Have spent a lot of the day in bed feeling grotty but the bed is oh so comfortable and snuggly at my parents that I didn't mind too much!
2. Gave and received lots of lovely presents, including a pressure cookerLots more OS cooking in 2012 for me!
3. I've played telephone tennis with OH all day, leaving messages and texts but not actually getting to speak to each other yet.
4. Lovely to have scrumptious food cooked by other people and as I'm feeling rubbish, not have to do too much tidying up afterwards
5. DD is planning on making her 'famous risotto' tomorrow for dinner for us all, yippee! As vegetarians/pescetarians, me, my mum and DD don't have to worry about days and days of cold meat sarnies, lol.
6. I shall return home in a few days' time with a small stash of bubble wrap to help with the house move packing0 -
Kittikins, glad you were somewhere you could be looked after today. We are veggie/fish eaters too so I know what you mean about leftovers!
My five for today:
1. So civilised... slept in til 10.30. :T
2. Leisurely morning doing presents and making family phone calls. Everyone happy. I got some good prezzies (requested) with a few little surprises thrown in as well.
3. Brunch of organic scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and freshly squeezed blood orange juice with fizzy water (we don't drink alcohol). Very yummy.
4. Sitting chatting with my DSs through the day. It's been really quiet and gentle and everyone has just got on with things they like doing. Our telly broke a year ago on Christmas Eve so we have only had iplayer and DVDs since then (and no live iplayer after March when I didn't renew the telly licence). It's worked so well in terms of us not being surrounded by noise and adverts. We pick and choose and it's meant that today has felt very peaceful. The close that we live in has been so silent I am wondering how many people were actually at home today.
5. Supper of Quorn mince (like bolognese sauce) with mash and broccoli, again mostly organic. It's what everyone fancied and there's enough to use as veg pasta bolognese sauce for tomorrow's supper so I don't have to cook.
I am really pleased at not having overdone the food situation. We have had treats, like we've had presents, but there's been no overkill. Off to put some washing on and find something good to watch on iplayer.
Have a lovely end of Christmas Day everyone.

Have retired to bed - been up since 5.30
Yesterday seems too long ago to count, so 5 for today
1. A very Merry Christmas - niece and nephew are here and it was lovely to have younger children around
2. The look on my daughter's face when she opened the tickets to the show she wants to see
3. Yummy din dins cooked by OH
4. Lovely pressies, including HFW River cottage, Nigella Christmas, and a lovely practical everyday cookbook from DD. Actually, I think my fave pressie was another from DD who got me a mug in a tin and had filled the mug with Thorntons. I like mugs as pressies cos you use them all the time and it reminds you of the person who bought it.
5. A walk with DS who for once didn't mind being seen out with mum.
Boxing day tomorrow - usually my fave day of the festive period.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
hello! Popping on whilst I wait for our later than normal dinner cooking.
1.Had a very lazy day! Up early but went back to bed & snoozed.
2.Storm blew itself out in early hours! I have never known anything like it, we were lucky. Lots of people had damage to cars & property. Our garage was flooded but OH had moved stuff out of way last night, it has flooded before when we've had heavy rain.
3.Went to a very breezy beach this evening. Nice & sunny but a wind that would cut you in 2...brrrrr
4.Have enjoyed perusing my new recipe books, will probably bake tomorrow.
5.Spicy pumpkin soup, nachos with bacon, mushrooms & onion topped with cheese, warm crusty rolls.....perfect for a slightly cooler evening!
Enjoy your Boxing Day0 -
Good evening all!
I hope that everyone has had a nice relaxing day !
Ladyhawk -well done for not committing actual bodily harm yesterday on your SIL:rotfl:Its lovely when people think that they know you better than you know yourself isn't it (not);)
kittikins -get well soon
5 for today
1. A leisurely morning tidying the house
2. Hens ate the plate scrapings from our roast yesterday
3. Freshly laid egg for breakfast
4. Kauto Star winning the King George at Kempton . A grand old horse , his fifth time of winning it at the grand old age of 11.
5. A relaxing evening in watching tv with OH
Have a good evening all xx:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening Ladies,
Chicken - it was hard to not rise to it... But then I am shouldn't be surprised since she is such a pain. At least this time my brother told her to stop being so grumpy!
My voice is now all croaky and I'm still snuffly
1) I braved the Next sale and bought some lovely indoor fluffy boot slippers and a whole load of outfits for my nephews. And. Some work clothes... But I do have a pile of stuff to return
2) ODing on HM mince pies
3) Afternoon nap
4) Making progress on Project Tidy the Flat
5) Yummy supper of quorn sausages, baby potatoes and loads of veggies followed by mince pies!
Night all
