hello, Tuesday evening here, again typing whilst cooking, making RTC meatballs .

1.Relaxed start to day, I am really looking forward to just relaxing over the holidays, whether I wake up early or not.

2.Long chat with friend on phone .....until I ran out of credit.

3.Went to next town & got a few bargains! So have bought (and wrapped as I'm sad like that!!) gifts for my friend's daughters & family gifts for next Christmas!

4.Got a RTC chicken, chicken fillets, sausages, meatballs, kangaroo steaks ( :( ) juice : to be made into ice lollies, bag of mixed veggies & fruit for $3 and some RTC sweets.

5.DS had his first driving lesson from his dad in my car ! Yikes!

    Have a good day x

Purple kitten I do hope things are a little better with your Dad, thinking of you all
Sounds like everyone had a reasonable Christmas, hope you all got what you wished for. (I was told be careful what you wish for as you might just get it, and I have, more than once )

For the past few days -

    1. feeling a bit better after a couple of days not eating but thankfully not norovirus, just a dose of mussels. I know I can't eat them so don't know why I did :(. Have had a glut of siesta's and lie-in's, now almost ready to tackle the mess that I call a home

    2. had a super Christmas Day with DD and almost all of the family (only DS and one DGS not able to be there) and got exactly what I wanted :)

    3. DD made the most delicious dinner (she had a good tutor ;)) and as always the huge dish of mashed swede disappeared first! Wish I could have done it justice but what I had I enjoyed

    4. Lovely neighbour's gentleman friend just came in and put my new television stand together. Totally unexpected and very grateful to him as it'd been upside down in the lounge for 2 weeks and I was getting fed up with seeing it. I'd managed to do most of it but had got to the 2-person stage. I think her DD, who came in yesterday, must have mentioned it :)

    5. Amazingly, no heating for the third day running. The thermal undies - such glamour! - I bought earlier in the year are certainly paying for themselves.

    6. 2 nsd/npd's in a row

    7. Have just investigated one of the tubs of Winter potatoes, have a good half kilo from only the top 8" of soil. 7 more tubs to dig up so lots of spuds to see me through the comong weeks :D

    8. Back to back Nature of Britain to snooze through this afternoon

Take care, (((hugs))) to all who need or just want

Will have a good read through of everyone's posts tomorrow but wanted to update as I haven't been here since Christmas Eve.

Liking your signature, Kittikins, and will make a rather similar new one of my own tomorrow...

Purple Kitten - sorry to hear about your dad.

Well! Shall do some random pleasures for Christmas Day and Boxing Day then do 5 for today, if I can...

    1) Enjoyed being Santa on Christmas Day, very early in the morning. Didn't enjoy being woken up at 5am by smaller son quite so much...

    2) Boys liked their presents. Smaller son's favourite was a pack of Hot Wheels cars while bigger son liked his Airfix.

    3) Tried to Skype MrB - technically it worked but we couldn't really hear anything with my sons larking around in the background and waving to his!

    4) Went to mum and dad's for lunch and no one argued and my brother took sons for a walk after lunch.

    5) Mum and dad went halves with me so I now have an ipod!

    6) Sons went off to their father's and I went to MrB's at tea time. :-) Met his family and they were nice, and included me (without interrogating me!)

    Boxing Day

    1) Waking up with MrB.

    2) Not having to get up.

    3) Texts from my sons.

    4) Went for a walk.

    5) Back here to see my cats.

    Today!

    1) Slept for 10 hours!

    2) Waking up with MrB.

    3) Texts from sons and a phone call.

    4) Doing very little.

    5) Having my car mended for me as I speak. :-)

    Hope everyone has enjoyed Christmas.

    3. Lovely relaxed Christmas lunch and no cooking for me to do:j

    5. Boxing day was another relaxed day with no cooking for me
    6. Being back in my own bed last night and a lovely lie in today

Hugs to all who need them and I hope everyone had a lovely christmas.
  • Thank you for all of the kind thoughts, he had a diabetic coma I have been told he will feel like he’s been hit by a truck for a week or so he’s taking it easy and at home as he can’t stand hospitals and makes that very well known!

It’s good to hear everyone sounds like they had a lovely holiday time, and get well wishes to all who need them.

A long long lay in, we did plan to get up but opened the curtains saw the grey and we both clambered back to bed.
    Relaxing enjoying the Christmas lights.
Just making lots of veg to go with toad in the hole and left over Christmas gravy and parsnips.
A lovely catch up with my DB.
    Another NSD / NPD.
Looking forward to a relaxing evening
  • 1. Had to go put diesel in the car so nipped in sainsbugs while there. Got 3 bags chestnuts at 50p a bag. Forgot to pierce the chestnuts because we didnt do that the other day and the chestnuts were fine....but this afternoon they all started exploding in the oven. Managed to get the tray covered and put outside, averrting disaster. On the upside, they were well yummy.

    2. Got back from sainsbugs and got straight back in our jammies and put on 24...we were lucky enough to get the entire boxset as a christmas gift.

    3. Mum been staying with us for a few days, drove her home this morning. Been lovely having her stay with us, but we can goback to being lazy an scruffy now she is back home lol!!!

4.we have been snacking on leftovers and eating tasty bits n pieces. Scrummy!

    5. Feeling blessed.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
