    1. Saw OH - well, took him to doc and for blood tests, so not hugely pleasurable but as per Friday, the pleasure is being with him, more than where we are

    2. DD was a trooper and came to the appointments with us

    3. Went to Sainsbug's and bought lots of tins of mixed beans for our favourite soups

    4. OH was very touched with DD's hand-painted card she gave him

    5. Took DD for a surprise swim - I got the stuff ready and put it in the car without her knowing, even when we pulled into the swimming pool car park, she thought we were just going to turn around. Even better, my swim pass is still in date for a few more days :)

    6. Low spend day - only about £2 as I had a credit on my credit card, yay

    7. OH's mummy gave me a fresh pile of magazines, ranging from the trashy celeb stuff that I would never buy myself but don't mind flicking through from time to time, to good stuff like GH and Prima

    8. Took 3 HUGE bags of things to the charity shop, ranging from toys, kitchen stuff, DD's clothes and my heeled shoes.....*sigh* I'm coming to terms with the fact that I can't wear heels....but at least someone else will get to benefit from a few pairs of barely worn shoes!

    9. Saving the best til last, DD made me breakfast in bed this morning :):)

EDIT: Thanks for the hug Millie, I needed one!

hello! Tuesday morning, everyone else still asleep & enjoying the cool(ish) air coming in the window & the noisy birds chatting.

    Mondays:
1.early start to a very busy day at work but I also finished early.

2.Came home to an excellent school report from DD1, they have all had fabulous reports so very proud of the 3 of them & how well they have adapted to a quite different system & curriculum. Big 2 have now stopped school so less uniform/lunches to do !

3.Well ,the night of school prom arrived: my daughter looked lovely in her dress & accessories. We had to be at hotel for 5.30pm (3 towns away at rush hour!) ,kids went in, got photos taken, mingled, much hugging & oh you look gorgeous-ing, then they had a graduation ceremony with lovely speeches and more photo taking .....remember this is Primary school!....They all did a dance to 'Reach for the stars' &.they then watched a film of 'The Goodbye Wave', apparently this is done every year & it was a silent film of all the staff, one by one, waving goodbye, drying pretend tears, blowing kisses etc ....every member of staff was on it ,even lollipop men too. Then the kids were on at the end. It was lovely, funny & sad & by this time many were howling.
The girls all looked lovely in their dresses and my DD2 was NOT the only one in flat shoes! Many had been to hairdressers, fake tans etc and had probably spent a fortune! Boys turned up in jeans & teeshirts!!

We left, they had dinner & a disco & then we went back & you could buy photographs. I had put aside money for 2, hard to choose as they were lovely, however, these will get copied & I'll be able to send them home to the grannies!
I said goodbye to the staff who have shown such kindness to me & my family since we started a year ago, it is a super primary school & very similar to the one we left back home, so I'm glad we found it......but onwards & upwards....next stop secondary for my baby!

4.OH & I went to next town for dinner, to place we have been often enough, it was really busy but when we got our food I had an elastic band in my tub of fries! I only ever eat chips when I'm out so was most disappointed (and disgusted!) and lost my appetite rather :( .....however, got a refund!

5.When we went back to get DD2, I had given her the money for photos ($10 each) but parents weren't allowed back into room at that point, between OH & I we mananged to rustle up $21,(in coins) photographer didn't have $1 change so I got them for $19.....every little helps!

So a tired little girl was brought home with sore ,dancing feet......we all had a slice of RTC cream cake & headed for bed.

    Have a great day xx

    Hi Ladies,

I wrote a long post yesterday... But lost it and couldn't bear to retype it... I blame the red wine lethargy! Chicken - I definitely joined you in the undertaking of a siesta!

    1) Got up really early this morning as I needed to take my car into the garage to get my tyres checked out... I got there at 7.30am.. Except they only opened at 8.30am. I popped over to MrS to pick of some essentials (I haven't been shopping since I got back from my holiday)

    2) Phoned my new doctor for an appt and he could see me this evening. He seemed really nice and I have more confidence in him than my previous one.

    3) People in the office being cheery

    4) Spent the evening looking at photos from my holiday

    5) Yummy HM mince pies

    Night all... Keep warm

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
    Evening all.

I'm in the 'lousy night's sleep' camp, too - I've been looking forward to my bed since about lunchtime. :(

    1) Finished my essay. :j I just want to give it one final read-through tomorrow night when I'm less tired, to make sure there's no howlers in there: I've already spotted one, where a typo had changed 'most people' to 'moist people' - true enough given the weather today, but it did rather change the meaning of my sentence! :rotfl:

    2) HM quiche for lunch - it's still nice even though the bottom's gone a bit soggy. (And no-one likes a soggy bottom, do they? ;))

    3) Watching the show-jumping from Olympia while eating my dinner.

    4) Which was a frozen pizza I acquired free thanks to an MSE offer a few months ago. :money:

    5) Bed in the not too distant future - I hope I manage to get to sleep at a slightly more reasonable hour tonight.

    Have a good rest-of-evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

That made me smile! Personally, I prefer my bottom not to have soggy bits, but hey, each to their own...:D

Hope everyone is OK - bit of a rushed visit for me tonight so I've not had time to read people's posts. Hugs if anyone needs them.

    Mine for today:

    1. Yummy and warming bowl of hot porridge with fruit for breakfast - a great start to the day.

    2. Going out for curry with a friend in the evening to my favourite Indian restaurant. Great service, food and prices.

    3. Interviewing said friend to make sure I've got the scenes involving police procedure correct right in my novel. She's a retired police officer and I know nothing about that sort of thing, so it was really helpful. Fortunately I've got more right than wrong and tweaking the rest won't be hard.

    4. Work not going too badly. My brain has started winding down for Xmas and I'm counting the days until I get a week and a bit off.

    5. Being super-organised and sorting tomorrow's evening meal so it will be ready within five minutes of me arriving home.

    6. News of a possible loving new home for Tinker Puss. Fingers (and paws) crossed! (After what she did on my kitchen floor today  , I'll pay someone to take her away! Good job she's otherwise adorable...:))

    7. Keeping up with my exercise and housework routines. I loathe housework and I struggle to enjoy exercise but at least doing something makes me feel virtuous!

    8. Carrying on and editing the next chapter of my novel. Took a long time today, but I got a lot done. Will I ever be satisfied with it, though?!

    9. It was less cold here today in Bristol - I was freezing yesterday.

    10. Enjoying fun time with Tinker Puss - made more special by the fact she might be leaving me soon.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.
