1.Up early & made apple & oat muffins for the first time, rather tasty!
2.Sunday scone before getting last few bits of Christmas shopping. Got DD2 a lovely earring & necklace set which will match her outfit for tomorrow's prom for $3.00 Total cost of outfit including dress, wrap, hair accesserories ,sandals, bag, jewellry was $29.50 (18 pounds) which is more than enough for an 11 year old thinks I! Apparently 'everyone else' will be going in a limo, getting hair & make up done ,fake tans blah, blah! Mine will be going in Vintage clothing !
3.Came home & got tidied up (yawn.....once again!) however, I do like to at least start the week tidy!
4.Had to go back out again, I have to make a Hamper up as a prize draw for work, so had to go & choose stuff. Was just going through till when tannoy said pack a bag of fruit/veg for $3. Dashed out to car with trolley & then ran back in! Got onions, broccoli, mushrooms, peppers, cherries, parsnips & something that I thought were parsnips but now not sure!
5.Yummy tea of veg stir fry (boys had pork in theirs) ,made microwave tablet & about to have frozen yoghurt.
Been very warm but equally as windy!0 -
Mine for today:
1. Meeting a friend for lunch at Wetherspoons - we both opted for the children's lunch as their roasts are really large, so we ended up with two roast lunches, drinks and desserts costing less than £8 - bargain!
2. Walking into town to get a bit of extra exercise.
3. Stocking up with books at the library so I've got loads of holiday reading material.
4. Grocery bill coming to more or less what I'd budgeted.
5. Editing another chapter of my novel.
6. A thick bowl of homemade lentil soup to warm me up in the evening, with homemade toast. Followed by homemade yoghurt.
7. Playing with my lovely foster puss. She likes to burrow under my duvet and I only know she's there because of the lump in my bed!
8. Booking a free session at the gym for later in the week, thanks to the passes my friend sent me.
9. Finding something thick and oily smeared on my favourite coat - it's supposedly dry clean only - but I decided to have a go at sponging it off and it worked quite well. Still a faint stain but not one that's really noticeable. So I saved myself £8.50 on drycleaning, which is good as money is tight at present. Going on a restaurant fast throughout January as I eat out far too much. I need to save funds for my move to Portsmouth next year.
10. Chat with friend on phone - always good.
Hope everyone is keeping warm xLife is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hello all
Have had 2 very lovely days, It's my birthday today and everyone has been going out of their way to make it nice for me. So for yesterday
1. Early morning phone call from a friend asking us to his for dinner
2. Going to theirs for dinner:D Friends OH is a fantastic cook, and he'd done pork a la Jamie - divine followed by HM white chocolate ice cream - sublime. Like going to a restaurant and wonderful company and OH drove
3. Went to Lichfield with OH and have bought most of pressie stuff now and it was stress free and lovely, and if i don't buy anything else it doesn't really matter.
4. OH and i went for a cuppa which was nice
Can't think of a 5th but don't need one
For today
1. Lovely pressies this morning - nicest thing was actually the card that DS wrote as he went to some effort which he doesn't usually
2. Lovely walk in the bright sunshine and the kids weren't allowed to moan
3. Sunday lunch in a pub - also yummy
4. Going for a long soak in the bath in a mo
5. Not doing much at all after - everything can wait till tomorrow.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Happy Birthday VJsmum
Weekend goodies
1. DD and I babysat our lovely friend's gorgeous baby last night at their house - and yet again, for us, she slept right through the nightWe have an open invitation to babysit anytime we like, lol.
2. Popped in to see OH yesterday and he's worse than he was on Friday (and is worse again today he said on the phone), but he is very upbeat about it. Not much of a pleasure to see him like this, but a pleasure to see him full stop x
3. Great pantomime/nativity at church this morning, all the performers were superstars and we had a real baby Jesus (ok, so she was actually female but oh my goodness, what a cutiepie)
4. 2 lowish spend days......could have spent less, but ho hum, I think it was displacement activity, that's what I'm blaming my over-eating on as well.....at least I only spent cash, not a bean on the credit cards!
5. Cuddles and massages with DD
6. It was lovely to have our sleepover at the friends' house last night, we were in a warm house, they bought us maltesers and wine for me and it was really good to be away from home and brooding about OH less.
7. As we can't have a tree this year due to furniture being in the wrong places, DD decided to jolly the house up with tinsel and baubles hanging from mirror frames, door handles etc. It's kitsch and lovely
8. I went through the DVD/CD cupboard of doom this afternoon and have put a few for sale on Amazon, a pile of films we haven't watched and a good bag for the charity shop, and, even better I can see the shelves in the little cupboard again! Another step closer to the big move......so that's the kitchen drawers, most of the bookcases and the CDs sorted now. Shame I have more clothes than the average person as my weight fluctuates so much, and I hate to throw out my 'skinny' clothes as I 'know' I'll be back in them before long....think I may have to be ruthless though!0 -
Evening all.
1) A pleasant mooch around the farmers' market which was chilly but, unlike last year, not snow covered. I only bought one thing I hadn't intended to get - some venison and leek meatballs at a very reasonable£2.50 - that's tomorrow's dinner sorted, and a portion for the freezer too.
2) Gave the kitchen floor a much-needed wash. (Isn't it amazing the things that seem more fun than writing an essay?)
3) Watching Portsmouth FC on TV - a decent match, and no trouble afterwards which is a bit of a relief.
4) Writing Christmas cards while watching highlights of the Olympia horse show on iplayer - now it feels like Christmas. :xmassign:
5) The prospect of a mug of mulled wine later, from a bottle I got on SO - naughty on a school night, I know, but what the heck - it's Christmas! (Well, nearly, anyway.)
Have a great evening, all.
ETA - ooh, happy birthday, VJsmum! _party_ (Sorry, missed that first time round!)
Back after a very long break!0 -
My five for Sunday are:-
1. Laying in bed this morning drinking a cup of coffee and watching it snow outside.
2. Knowing that I could stay in bed for another half an hour with no rush to get up.
3. Sorting the dogs and horses out and coming back in for a welcoming cappucino
4. Catching up on one of my programmes that I had pre recorded.
5. Just being able to have a relaxing Sunday!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

2. Came home to breccie of poached eggs on toast and a huge mug of earl grey
3. We put our real tree up in the dining room, looks fab! We also put some lights on the topiary tree at the front and they look really pretty
4. Shouldn't laugh, but some local yoofs were playing hide and seek (apparently) at the top of our
drive.... Until GSD spotted them and gave one huge WOOF. I have never seen teenagers run so fast. Ok they don't need to know that she is the world's biggest wuss- she looks and sounds the part
5. NSD, about flipping time!
Hope everyone is ok and staying warm. Big hugs to anyone in need xxx
