1.Chat with my mum on phone.
    2.caught up on housework....again!
3.DD1 moved her room around and it looks rather tidy.....not for long I'm sure ....she's rather untidy!
4.She made spag bol for tea.
5.I made banana loaf (gone) , lemon drizzle, shortbread (of sorts, different recipe & won't use it again) and caramel shortbread (just to melt chocolate for top)

    Enjoy your day x

    1. Went and collected a wreath today for my late parents grave and I went up to the cemetry to put it on, it was really flipping cold up there my hands were like ice, but I have secured the wreath down well with string and a metal hook so it doesn't go anywhere. It looked really good.

    2. Sat and wrote out all the Christmas cards with a cup of coffee this morning. Put into two piles one for posting, one for hand delivery.

    3. DH moved the bed for me this morning - get your heads out of the gutters you lot :rotfl:- so that I could CLEAN all around it. :D

    4. We had left over stew from last nights meal for lunch and I will cooked roast lamb for dinner this evening.

    5. Sat and made a list of all household jobs I need to do on the Friday (day before Christmas Eve) as I want the house clean and as near as perfect as i can get it.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    1) I made 5 jars of Nigella's chilli jam and it came out perfectly; and they all sealed...hooray!

    2) And there was a half ramekin left for cheese and crackers later. Yummy!

    3) Wrapped a few gifts and put them under the tree. Starting to get excited now!

    4) Found some wonderful crafty ideas and I've made a start on DWs Valentine's prezzie already (a scrapbook) :D

    5) Amish programme for me aswell (not so OS watching the tv, but so much OS goodness in for me!)

    For yesterday

    1. Fixed dad's ballcock - a small victory for me and a lot of money saved for him
    2. Lunch with my lovely sis and saw my gorgeous nieces and tyrant of a nephew - but he isn't mine so i can think he's funny (he's 3 and rules the place with an iron rod - soooo much trouble for them coming later i think)
    3. A non-eventful drive home
    4. Managed to speak to dad about getting something done about a health problem he's having - fingers crossed he'll act on it.
    5. Can't think of a 5th - just being back home, I think.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Evening all!

Broomstick - what lovely sons :)

Yukky day here, rain, wind and cold, bleugh! Thankfully I have been inside for most of it!

    Mine for today

    1. Mini lie in (until 7.40am) then a nice cup of Earl Grey
    2. Caught up with some more housework and washing
    3. We finished off yesterday's soup for lunch- it did 7 large portions for £2 ish :)
    4. Bedded ponies down early (they weren't complaining). Oldie is snuggled up in her clean PJs and they are all munching huge haynets, with the rain hammering down on the barn roof
    5. Night in with OH tonight with my One Foot in the Grave boxset....bliss :)

MandM90 - I bought the ingredients to make that chilli jam today- might try and do it tomorrow :D

    Evening all.

    1) A very long lie-in this morning. I won't tell you what time I eventually woke up, but it was well into double figures. :o

    2) Mog seems to be better today, doubtless aided by eating his own body-weight in the chicken I've been advised to feed him. (OK, that's a slight exaggeration, but he's certainly making up for lost time!)

    3) I spilt some of the medicine on my sheepskin rug while trying to get it into mog this morning, and was very relieved when it washed out with hot soapy water.

    4) Finished the quiz for work - thanks again for the help, Kittikins! :T

    5) Going out with a friend this evening: ever since I've known her she's been enthusing about the Christmas decorations in a pub owned by a family friend, and I'm finally going to see for myself tonight. :)

    Have a nice evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

I love this thread. DW always says I'm an insufferable optimist and I think part of the reason is that I take pleasure in small things :D

MandM90 you're in good company, I love this thread too :)

    1. Only had a slight headache when I woke up this morning, deserved more after the vino and home made booze I drank with my chum!

    2. Saw lots of lovely friends at church this morning, and got to make some new ones, mums I see in the playground but never say more than hello to!

    3. Very quick visit to OH to drop in the newspaper. He's starting to look a bit better, 2 more days of horrible medicine to go and then fingers crossed, he'll be right as rain.

    4. BOGOF on orange squash, much cheaper than buyiing my favourite fizzy pop

    5. DD and I helped out at a Christmas show this afternoon and I was so proud of DD for being amazing - she made 24 fairy cakes and decorated them all by herself, all I did was the oven part, and we took those and a load of sandwiches along for the old people's tea party at the event.

    6. The lovely compliments I received on how kind and helpful DD was to everyone :)

    7. The rain - for some reason it was lovely to be out in the rain today, it isn't usually but I was glad of it today.

    8. DD and I finished writing our Christmas cards

    9. I've read most of the national newspapers online for free and caught up with some friendly blogs

    10. We brought home some very nice fairy cakes from the party this afternoon so DD has posh cakes for her packed lunches this week :)

CCP -you must have needed the zzzzzzzzzzzz's !!Glad to hear that your Mog has picked up .

Broomstick - your post about your sons and the trolleys made me feel quite emotional . Sort of thing my brother would do. If he sees older people in particular, struggling to carry heavy shopping he will give them a lift home. He cries at Bambi too :)

    5 for today

    1. Maggie hen wobbly but perkier .

    2. OH said that we did not have any minced beef or sweetcorn in the freezer in the shed. Thought I was going to have to go shopping but , low and behold , guess what was in the freezer ?? Made him a cottage pie with the beef cooked in the slow cooker.

    3. My uncle who lives a long way away came over to take my Mum out to a posh hotel for lunch . He was in the Met. and has had a very interesting life. Some of his stories make my hair stand on end, and his language is pretty colourful too  He brought the hens a sack of corn and some venison for us ,and we gave him 3 cooked frozen lobsters to take back with him.

    4. As my Mum was out for the best part of the day I looked after Barker -the dog .

5.Used up some out of date bulgar wheat for my tea as I am trying to run the cupboards and freezers down, so meals will be ....interesting .

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
