Evening all.
I'm sorry I haven't been around recently - life hasn't been going particularly smoothly what with car, mog and a family member all being sick, and an essay and a quiz to write within the next couple of weeks!
I'll try and catch up on everyone's posts over the next couple of days, and start posting again - at the moment I've got to write a quiz while keeping an eye on the mog: he's just eaten a bowl of chicken, which I hope is a good sign. (Why can't he get seriously ill during the week, rather than at weekends when I have to pay a small fortune for emergency treatment? :wall:)
I hope everyone else is OK and having a nice weekend.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all!
millie- Yuletide felicitations are well underway in Millie Villas then:D x
mhagster - blimey- putting up a Christmas tree in your bikini - (so to speak ) my chicken brain can't compute ..
5 for today
1. Went in to town with my sister and my Mum. My sister has lost so much weight that she has lost her bottom (not talking Midsummer Nights Dream, Bottom) !. I have not seen her for a few months and she looks so different . She is a lot happier and it seems to have helped her R.Arthritis . I am pleased for her -being pain free shows on her faceShe does make me laugh and we had a good time.
2.Maggie hen still wobbly, but eating and drinking.
3. Went to get a new battery put in my watch and was lured to the "pre loved " jewellery counter. Saw a beautiful Essex crystal gold racehorse stick pin circa 1880 .The price was a telephone number :rotfl:- but I went home and checked the price of them on eb** and they were 70% less on average. Not remotely old style , but something to keep and wear forever and pass on to my neices when I die etc etc etc ... Santa can you hear me ??:D
4.When I got home OH had arranged some holly in one of my antique glass flower bowls . It looks great, our holly tree has not had so many berries on it for years.
5. Wild rice , chargrilled chicken breasts in a ceamy mushroom and pepper sauce for tea. Not bad for bottom of the fridge veg. Truth is I wanted the kilner jar that the rice was in to put sweets in:)
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
:wavey: CCP - good to see you. Why does these things always happen at once?
Sorry Mog has been poorly - and yes, why do animals seem to get poorly out of hours? Fingers crossed that the chicken eating is a good sign and he continues to improve. Sending healing vibes his way xx0 -
1. Woke up to see the garden and rooftops white with frost and feeling content in the warm with a cup of coffee over looking the garden.
2. Putting my hands inside my boys heavyweight rugs this morning and feeling their warmth from their bodies, they are so nice and cosy in their clean coats.
3. Watching them going down on their knees and rolling around on their backs in the field with me laughing at them - priceless
4. Cooking a lovely hearty stew for dinner tonight and DH saying " this is so good".
5. Knowing that tomorrow morning I can have a lie in and not have to get up for work!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

(((CCP))) wishing things better for you now. Keep coming back, you know you'll get lots of support here
1. Supper last night with friends and some visitors from Scotland/Australia. Mhags the lady lives in Melbourne, she's here for a couple of weeks. We had a long chat about the birds, hills, suburbs, the price of bananas, even the charity shops, and it was just like reading your posts
2. Had to scrape the car at 1am but there was no traffic on the roads so drove the 14 miles home in the peace and quiet, and moonlight
3. Up at 7am to scrape the car again, drove through some pretty villages on a route I don't normally use, to collect a freecycle item.
4. Letter from the government telling me I'll be getting help with my electricity bill, so didn't feel guilty having the heating on a little bit longer today
5. Another letter from my private pension co telling they've been given the wrong info by the inland revenue and I owe them some £'s but as it wasn't my mistake they're not going to take any back. Goodness, they've almost convinced me they have a heart!
Stay warm, sleep well0 -
1. Cheapy goodies in MrT when we popped in to get essentials!
2. Spent most of the afternoon with OH, took him his nasty prescription and nice juice to take it with......and was grown-up enough to realise that he wouldn't be well enough to come for a sleepover with me tonight....but it was sooo lovely for the 3 of us to have lunch and do the Telegraph crossword together
3. DD made some fairy cakes with me as her sous-chef for tomorrow's tea party with old folk
4. Bumped into a nice friend in the high street this afternoon
5. Met our new soon to be neighbours for a short time, before we move.........they're very sweet and their doggie is lovely
6. Gorgeous, scrumptious texts with OH tonight
7. Lovely evening drinking wine etc with bestest chum, putting the world to rights whilst drinking vino and the children watching TV.0 -
Hi all, mine for today are:
1. Overtime this morning- means £50after tax in Jan pay for savings
2. Supermarket shop using gift vouchers from work so paid £3; plus used money off vouchers so got nice blue cheese for 50p; ready for christmas
3. Warmer bedroom now boiler is fixed! Woooo
4. Going to starbucks to get a mug for 50%, finding they didn't have any & walking out without succumbing to a vanilla latte (less latte, more savings for a house deposit)
5. Oh buying me flowers, but being frugal and getting them at 30% off (70p!) gorgeous treat for me but stating in budget= happy girlfriend :0) xFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Hiya after a week or so away - things have just been very, very, very busy.
A handful of pleasures for the last few days:
1. Watching my sons dash around in a really full supermarket carpark catching trolleys that were being blown around by the wind before the trolleys hit anyone's cars. Apparently one lady sitting in her parked car gave them a huge grateful smile as she saw her vehicle's paintwork being saved.:T
2. Finding two lovely feel good DVDs on offer for my mum's Christmas present.
3. Getting some idea of how to eat up food that needs to be eaten and working out how to empty the freezer.:)
4. Having a warm house today because we had to dry washing.
5. Catching up on 4od's Amish programme.
6. Oh, and another extra: adding a book token (which was a present) to my secret treats tin. I shall enjoy spending that. It makes up for the fact that I've consumed my secret stash of chocolate again.:D
Sweet dreams and keep warm
