Afternoon all!
Millie - my kids are a long way from perfect, but they do have their lovely moments!
SFO - so sorry to hear about the death, thinking of you all xxx
VJs mum - hope today is a better one for you, anniversaries like that are so hard xxx
Frith - good luck for the next job!
mhagster - must be odd have warm weather at this time of year, though I would love to see some warm sunshine for a week or two, I think I like my Christmas to be chilly - remind me of that when I'm whinging about the heating bills! Oh and we loved Daisy too, dd3 has loved pulling out old books for dd4 when she's bigger, she has been read the hungry caterpillar a lot already!
Right my five for the day:
1. Dropped oh and his mate at the airport on time, didn't enjoy the early start, but did enjoy coming back to bed when I got home and snuggling up with dd4!
2. Going to lunch at a friend's house, must get a wiggle on else we'll be late!
3. House fairly clean and tidy, so not a lot to do here today
4. Told a very close friend a few things that needed to be said, not only is he still talking to me (he has a tendency to shout or sulk!) he is actually thinking about what I said!
5. Going to have a lovely early night tonight, may cuddle up dd3 and dd4 and watch a film, and OH is away so won't come in late from work and wake me - I will miss him though
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Well, the wind has fair picked up here! My poor cats are scared witless!
1. Got all Christmas cards posted and last Ebay parcel away
2. Received surprise birthday parcel in the post from my family. It was lovely to receive all the cards and my mum had so thoughtfully wrapped everything up beautifully
3. A work call I was dreading was cancelled. Always love it when that happens!
4. OH suggested we have a 'Christmas day/night out' in town on Saturday. Considering I go out about 3 times a year, this is A.Big.Deal!
5. I lit a wee Christmas scented tealight in my office today which made me feel all Christmassy and cheered me up0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. Extra 10 minutes in bed this morning. I am not a morning person so every little helps.
2. Scrummy lunch at work, we have fab caterers for our office so when have to endure a boring meeting at least the food is decent. I didn't even have to endure the meeting today either:D
3. OH taking and picking up DD from guides so I don't have to go out in the wind and rain.
4. RTC almond croissants in Waitrose that will have for breakfast tomorrow
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Mhagster - the baby moorhen sounds adorable!
FairyPrincessk - glad things went well at work.
My days are very samey right now but I'll see what I can rustle up for today:
1. Last working day of the week - a four day weekend, with two curries in it, beckons!
2. Getting confirmation that my new furry feline friend will be arriving tomorrow.
3. Gas and electric bill being lower than I'd anticipated.
4. Yummy evening meal concocted from leftovers - looked odd but tasted great.
5. Boss still in a chirpy mood.
6. Getting a favourable email about a short story I wrote a while ago.
7. Getting another chapter of my novel edited.
8. Having a chat and a laugh with a good friend tonight.
9. Arranging a night out with friends for Sunday.
10. Email from a friend I've not heard from for ages.
Right, I'm peckish, off for a toasted slice of my yummy homemade bread. Thanks for the hugs, everyone.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
1. Got an invitation to tea tomorrow
2. Mended the bracket on the loo seat which had sheared in half, hopefully it will hold as a new seat at £25 + isn't on my shopping list jst now
3. The dustbin that blew over in the wind and hit my car didn't do any damage thank goodness. The garden looks like a bomb dropped on it, but nothing broken
4. nsd/npd
5. Made a tasty paella-type dinner. Made too much and dubious about keeping the prawns for another day, so will know another time to half the ingredients. I enjoyed what I had though
Sleep well
S0 -
1. YS and bogof goodies in the supermarket
2. OH is here and babysat DD for me
3. Drove a poorly colleague home, rather than see her walk out dizzily into the rain to the station.
4. Final dinner and chat of my course, a lovely evening and I'll hopefully see lots of people again
5. Got a lift to the course in the evening from 2 lovely friends
6. Used some 'points' at work to get DD a final Christmas present, and some M&S vouchers to go towards next year's school uniform - DD's growing so fast
7. Made a new recipe gluten-free choccy coffee desert cake to take to the dinner last night and everyone LOVED itWill definitely make it again, next time I have friends over for a meal.
8. Had some great news that boss' poorly wife will be coming out of hospital today (Friday). It's been a gruelling 2 weeks for his family, and I'm so relieved that she's starting the recovery process now.
9. The friend who is taking DD up to London for the day during the holidays sent me her train ticket
10. Received some paperwork in relation to my house purchase, so far so good!
11. Passed on some spare Christmas decorations to a colleague whose own stash for her team has been raided. Everyone needs fairy lights around their monitor, don't they?!
12. Realised that I have a good bank balance for this time of the month.....yes, I know its early on, but my bank balance is not usually this 'healthy'.0 -
Morning all,
It's drizzly here for my last full day in Africa...Where has the 35C temperatures that I had earlier in the week gone?? Its probably just preparing me for the return to the UK.
Hope you are all alright in the windy winds... hope my poor kitty cat is ok too as I left him at home on his own (with a friend to feed him each day)
1) My dad took my mum and I out for breakfast - yummy!
2) Went to say hello to the zebras that live in a little nature reserve round the corner from where my parents live. I only managed to spot one of them but we did see a whole family of red impala right next to the road.
3) Made my parents HM pizzas last night which my dad declared were the best ever.
4) Went to the the hairdresser to get my hair dyed and it looks a lot better... unfortunately she charged me double what I was expecting and managed to get hairdye on my brand new green cardigan. To say I was unimpressed would be a understatement. My mum managed to get most of the stain out though... luckily for the hairdresser!!!
5) My mum bought me some of my favourite nougat to take back with me... YUM!!!
I really don't want to get on the plane tomorrow
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0
