Still no laptop! Writing from mum's again. No washing machine or heating either... (at mine, not at mum's!)
Anyway, 5 for yesterday.
1) Had a good sleep!
2) Enjoyed serving Christmas lunch to 75 KS1 children at school. :-)
3) Took smaller son to paediatrician. That chap deserves a knighthood. He can't believe how useless school have been and is going to write them a "strongly worded letter" and get an ed psych in to see smaller son. And send someone from the Complex Communication Difficulties Team in to school to teach them how to look after a child with selective mutism (how about by NOT making him stay in every break and lunchtime????) And ask the lovely clinical psych we have seen before for advice on how to stop smaller son being frightened at night so he might spend a night not in my bed or in bed with bigger son. All good!
4) Went to B and Q after the paediatrician and found the perfect set of tree lights! We sat at home for ages watching them (although we are not getting the tree til later today). They have 20 stars on and we didn't realise they changed colour til we switched them on. :-)
5) Lovely chat with MrB on the phone. :-)
Won't get on a computer again til next week, most likely so will try for some for today.
Today
1) Good sleep again!
2) Boys off to school happily.
3) Have got my washing done here at mum's and ordered smaller son's present from Amazon - the first Christmas present I have bought this year!
4) Off to school in a minute to do KS2 Christmas dinner so both my sons will be there and have told me they want to pull their crackers with me.
5) Quiet night in for we 3, stove on and have some gammon ready to do for tea.
Weekend...
1) Got mum's birthday dinner (at an Indian restaurant) for family and my school friend is going too.
2) MrB coming round on Sunday. :-)0 -
Morning all!
My five for today:
1. Giggling at dd4 trying to eat my duvet cover whilst lying on the bed! I do feed her, honest!
2. Lots of vouchers to use for my shopping later, Mr T sent me ones for things I actually buy for a change!
3. OH and his mate arriving safely, though they then got on the wrong train, were fined and managed to get the world's most expensive taxi to their hotel!
4. A slow lazy start to the day, and no last minute panics from the kids that something has been forgotten!
5. Looking forward to another night in, cosy and snug
Have a good day all xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -

Let me find some pleasures for Friday:
1.well it was Friday!
2.quick call with my mum to check she was okay in the high winds. She was.
3.Nice chat with 2 new-ish friends whilst at work.
4.Reading a goodish book on Kindle.
5.er........will do an extra one for Saturday!
enjoy your evening.0 -
Good evening all!
millie - thank you x re the hen
frith- sounds like your son might have hit the jackpot then. Gosh, I am no expert on child psychology but if a person has communication difficulties why would you exclude them further by keeping them inside during break time ???
5 for today
1. Maggie hen still wobbly , but still with us. OH brought home some sunflower seeds which she adores and she snaffled a fair few of them - from a distance.
2. OH brought home a Christmas tree . I was not prepared to pay more than a tenner , but OH paid £25 . Glad we have separate bank accounts as we would both be in the gutter otherwise.;)
3. Decorated the aforementioned tree - its actually an appropriate tree for our room. Its quite tall but slim and dainty iyswim? . A bit like me LOL:rotfl:
4. THREE lots of washing dried on the line in December - WOW !!
5. Made a lentil daahl and mushroom pilau rice . Some days the thought of meat just does not do it for me , today was one of them . It was lovely though, and very OS ( makes up for the tree!!).
6 Cheeky glass of last weeks wine:D
7. Mucked out the house , cleaned the leather sofas and shifted them to their "Christmas" positions to accommodate the tree, with the help of OH . The lounge looks so cosy and Christmassy now
8. Having a foot massage from OH as I type:D
Also , and it may be a record - a woman in one of the papers has had her Christmas tree lights for 46 years . My mum still uses hers every year (obviously:))since she got married in 1957 . Knocks her 46 years in to a cocked hat ...and sooooo very Old Style
Have a lovely weekend all -CCP,PK, Gingersnap and ampersand -hope you are all OK??:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all!!
One of those mad days here, running around catching up on bits. Tired now!
Mine for today
1. Nice walk with GSD in the woods, at first light, crunching through the leaves
2. Boss' birthday, so his PA and i were stalking around in stealth mode, getting a mini party ready for him
3. Lunch, courtesy of work, with my forensic collaborator. OH, who works at the hospital up the road, came to meet him. Fascinating guy (collaborator, not OH) who has worked on some v high profile court cases
4. Little birthday party for boss, with balloons and cake (he is 60!!)
5. I seem to have a utility room full of rabbits! It is set to be -3 here tonight and Arthur feels the cold, so I have brought them all in. They are not very impressed!! GSD is hiding, the big wuss!
Day at home planned tomorrow, playing ponies, playing slave to GSD, cleaning and cooking roast lamb (gift from farmer friend) for parentals and their friends.
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
1. Managed to get some towels nearly dry on the line outside
2. Worked out a plan for the weekend with OH and DD
3. DD was fabulous at her Christmas church service, and 3 people came up to me to tell me how beautifully she sings. Hopefully she'll rejoin the school junior choir now!
4. In celebration, OH took us for juice and cake at one of the village cafes
5. OH called to apologise early evening for being a bit grumpy with me - but I hadn't noticed and though I'd been a bit moody with him, lol. We were waiting most of the day for an important prescription to come in that will hopefully help him feel better for a few months, but the silly pharmacy eventually told us to try again tomorrow *sigh.
6. Low spend day - just juice for OH to take his prescription tomorrow and YS yoghurts for us.
7. Great fun at the school disco this evening with DD and 99 other children!
8. Yet another good book has been added to the pile of things I want to read, so once I've persuaded DD to go to bed, I think an early night with my specs on is in order
9. Worked from home today
10. Gorgeous cuddles with DD my little scrumptious gal (yes, and ditto with OH, lol)0 -
Hmmmm, feels like it's been a good day, let's see.....!
1. My new Kenwood mixer arrived today and I'm savouring the get it out of the box moment.
2. Looking forward to a very easy weekend after loads of rushing round.
3. Just looking at my lovely, handsome son!
4. Sainsburys meal for 4 chinese meal with the lemony dessert thing as a side, yum, yum.
5. The fire!!

Ooh suddenly it's tomorrow - so 5 for yesterday, if i can
1. DS remembered to give an important form in to school
2. Finished wrapping half the pressies
3 Lunch with OH - only a cheese sarnie at home but we get very little time together
4. SOme 3 for one bargains in Mr M
5. A nice drive to see dad with MY music on for once (as i was alone)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
hello! Saturday evening here, we are watching Hestan Blumenthal's Pefect Christmas Dinner.
1. Up early & had a good chat with my in-laws & friend on phone at a decent time for them.
2.Nice Saturday scone & a not so nice wee mince pie....not the same over here.
3.Reasonable shop this morning. Fruit & veg at decent prices.
4.Bought an ice cream maker in Aldi. It should pay for itself......she justifies!
5.Easy tea of beans on toast then ice cream & strawberries for pud.
We put our trees up this afternoon. I got rather emotional as did DD1. It was very hot & bothersome, we had obviously thrown out a set of lights last year , music was emotive, no friends & family here to share Christmas with & just generally soooo different
However, trees look lovely and there were no spiders in the boxes which was a BIG concern! And it has rained heavily so that has cleared the air now. Have a great weekend.0 -
Mhagster- I can't imagine how it feels to celebrate xmas so far away in that heat :cuddle:
alisong- I love my Kenwood, well it is technically Mum's, but she shares with me
It's very quiet on here today, is everyone out getting ready for xmas?
My five for today
1. Lovely, early morning walk around the fields with GSD and Mrs Ponycarer, holly spotting, well berry spotting in fact. We had quite a harsh frost and it was all crunchy underfoot!
2. Caught up with lots of housework, bit boring, but necessary
3. Made cauli, potato, blue and lancashire cheese soup for lunch and choc brownies ready for dessert tonight
4. Lamb (freebie from farmer friend) slowly roasting in the oven - to be served with mashed and roasted potatoes, honey parspips, carrots and cauliflower cheese and pigs in blankets, just because. And we have Christmas crackers
5. Parents' friends over tonight for aformentioned feast
6. Oh and nice surprise through the post today; a box from Hotel Chocolat with my name on- choccies from my ex-PhD supervisor, incl Kirsch soaked cherries (hic) rum soaked sultanas (double hic) and chilli chocolate penguins! Can't imagine any of them lasting til xmas- I've already sampled one of the cherries and they are to die for!!! Going to hide them from OH
Hugs to all in need xx0
