Purple kitten - that is awful, you must be beside yourself with worry. Please keep us posted. I really, really hope it's nothing serious and have everything crossed for you. Huge hugs.0

Ninnoodle::bdaycake: Happy Birthday for tomorrow have a fantastic time.
I've never been so worried, literally sick to my stomach worry, and lacking a little sleep as every move is wake up and check.
But I am watching the grumpy guide to the 80's and smiling.0 -
Thanks Chickenopolis, it is actually tomorrow but, 1. I am milking it a bit this weekend and 2. I have taken tomorrow off work but OH has to work so the treats have been this weekend
ninnoodle- that will teach me for trying to be a smart a*** . Happy Birthday !!! xx
sparrer - LOL at Santa !
riversong and PK ((hugs)) to you both
kittikins we must be the same age . I had "Bright Eyes" for my bday too! They are not so bright this time in the morning ....:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Happy Birthday ninnoodle, hope you have a fabulous day, carry on the great feelings from the weekend
Purple Kitten - please get your OH to a real doctor, rather than putting too much faith/fear into what NHS Direct say. Face to face diagnosis or testing is always much better than a phone call. Keeping my fingers crossed that he feels better minute by minute x0 -
Morning
Riversong - Hope little one is on the mend now and medication is clearing up the infection
Purplekitten - Hugs to you and OH. As someone has already said I would make an appointment at your Doctors
Frith - Hugs to you. Also re younger son, my DD is Dyslexic and had to fight every step to get the testing done as in most areas in very bright but would not read or write, In the end we had the test done privately but is worth pushing for if you think there is an issue. You can also get a referral from your GP I think if the school won't do the test.
Ninnoodle - Happy Birthday, have a fab day
Pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. Night out with some work friends and got a lift there and back saving a fortune on taxis.
2. Finance Director buying wine for the table so finished up being a low spend night all round. We were very silly and went on the Dogems but was very funny.
3. Not OS but hair cut and coloured on Saturday. Won't need doing again until next year. My hairdresser is the one area where I refuse to go cheaper but I do use the vouchers they regularly give out though still  expensive but have had too many dodgy cuts over the years.
4. DD taking her friend Christmas shopping MSE style. Her friend was amazed how much she got for her money.
5. Trip to Kingston on Sunday morning with DD as she has had yet another growth spurt and needed new jeans. Had brunch in a cafe where they gave DD a free gift which you are only supposed to get with the childrens meal (she is 16). She was happy as it was a set of funky expensive highlighters that I had refused to buy. She has a thing about highlighters.
6. Used a voucher to buy some very expensive mince pies for OH that he has being going on about. (the Heston Waitrose ones) hopefully they will be nice as they cost enough
Hugs to all who need them0 -
susyrosy - this thread really helps me realise how good things are when they don't seem it by thinking of good things every day.
Yep me too, I love this threadThanks Chickenopolis, it is actually tomorrow but, 1. I am milking it a bit this weekend and 2. I have taken tomorrow off work but OH has to work so the treats have been this weekend
Happy birthday for tomorrow - that should have been my birthday too, by my due date but i was a couple of weeks late (been late for everything ever since)
Purple_kitten wrote: »I can’t find five for this weekend, my gorgeous husband had thunderclap head pain, sudden totally incapacitating, I’ve spoken to NHS direct and he’s keeping painkillers down and with it, I have been told to see how it goes for a few days but if he doesn’t improve they start looking at some very serious conditions which has literally scared us to the core. So in short we have been scared silly all weekend and well still am. So I may keep quiet from for little bit.
Oh how worrying for you - please keep us posted and look after you too.
Frith - sorry about your problems, I think you might have to ask yourself if it's worth it.....
Well what a weekend that was, sheer absolute bloody madness - running round like the proverbial BAF. OH told SIL that she and her 2 kids could stay saturday night but then he was out all day performing at Lichfield Cathedral, leaving bloody muggins here to sort everything. I sat in that Cathedral listening to singing that went right over my head if i'm honest, blubbing my eyes out but trying not to let anyone see - a combination of stress and self pity, I think. SIL then invited herself to stay last night too and only went at 6.30 this morning in order to get her kids to school on time after a 2 hour drive.
So let's see what i can find for the weekend
1. A lovely bath yesterday and hair dyeing time for me too (tho my thick curly hair needs 2 bottles of dye:cool:)
2. Good trip to farm shop on Saturday and bought loads of really good veggies at far less than supermarket prices
3. Lovely roast lamb cooked by OH last night - think he felt guilty after Saturday - GOOD
4. An excellent, funny conversation with a former colleague via facebook last night - she said some lovely things about me
5. Despite the upheaval, seeing how much better my niece and nephew are now after the terrible things that have happened to them in their short lives (their dad took his own life 2 years ago). I just wish their mother was a little more thoughtful - we are happy to help but don't like being taken advantage of.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
This is a bit of a challenge for me. I have a lot of stressful things going on right now, but I think its probably good to focus on the good things now and then. I do lurk here...so here goes...
1. I don't have to deal with anything stressful or difficult today, just a quiet day at home working on my work.
2. OH is trying a new recipe for Broccoli Stilton soup with the cheap Aldi Broccoli and 99p stilton tonight. I think its going to be tasty!
3. The LL brought a new/repaired vac around earlier today. Its been broken for a couple of weeks and I've been to busy to let him know, but OH did on Friday. Will be so nice to have clean floors again.
4. I will do my 15 min. of me later today. This is 15 min. where I leave my desk/computer and either read fiction, read one of my rarely purchased and long saved magazines, work on a craft, writing my journal etc.
5. Since part of my work today is marking essays, I can have some light music on in the background. I can do this if I'm reading, but struggle when I write.
6.I know what I'm making OH for xmas and he will love it. I can't wait until my supplies arrive in the post.:j0 -
ninoodle: happy birthday to you!
Well what a day! Started off well, slightly later start at work, busy morning, checked phone at lunchtime....about 20 missed calls from son & husband.....pipe under vanity unit in en-suite bathroom had burst & water was pouring out, all over bathroom, then into our walk-in wardrobe & then pouring into our bedroom. So on floor was ALL my paperwork! I had sat it down on floor as next on my mental -'to do ' list, on floor was pile of bedding for charity shop.
Son heard water running & realising no-one else was in checked the noise & had to wade into bathroom! Yikes! Phoned his dad who told him where to switch mains off! Landlord was coming out anyway to fix dishwasher so he came a few hours earlier! Anyway:
1.Nice breakfast of toast & HM jam, then nice drive to work.
2.Chat with owner of company I work for & promotion coming up in new year, I am very excited at opportunity & challenges which will be created!
3.Glad that son was here & that he was sensible enough to deal with situation!
4.DD2's friend & her mum visited, we have done a swap on some school text books....saved a little money! Had a good blether.
5.OH home earlier than usual, however in the melee of visitors, rescuing soggy stuff......no time to cook tea, so cheap as chips for tea! Yummy!
6. Paper work now re-sorted...needed doing anyway!
7.Sunny day tomorrow so every single towel in the house (yes....all the newly tidied in the airing cupboard yesterday!) will get dried no problems!
Have a good one!0 -
Welcome newbies
(((Purple kitten & DH))) hope you've called the gp for a home visit this morning. Mr PK do an OS-style get well now. Keeping you in my prayers
Happy Birthday ninnoodle :T :bdaycake: :j keep up the good work, I love birthdays that last days
Sorry to hear about the flood Mhags, well done DS for taking control. Hope the fine weather is helping to dry things out. An elderly lady, who had a leak in her bathroom, said to me 'you can't get to the bottom of water, can you?'...she'd never seen me swim :rotfl:
back with my 5 later0 -
Hello! My laptop is in PCWorld being repaired so won't be online much for the next week or so.
Thanks for all the messages. Nothing resolved at all yet. :-( He sent me a text, I reiterated what I had written in my email, he feigned surprise (this all Sunday a.m) and have heard nothing since. I have his bits and pieces ready to post back later this week if I don't hear anything.
Anyway! While I've on my mum's laptop, will try for 5 for yesterday and some for today so far:
Sunday
1) Sister came round for a cup of tea.
2) Went to Sainsburys and got some new new lights and tree decorations.
3) Stopped off for a mug of hot chocolate on the way home.
4) School friend came over for tea and stayed til 11 ish.
5) Sons back from their father's.
6) Had a pleasant evening in front of the stove, playing on the Wii, testing out the new fairy lights and eating maltesers.
Today (so far).
1) Sent all Christmas cards.
2) Fantastic invitation in the post!! When I was little, we lived in a semi (still miles from anywhere) and the couple still live next door. They are like a 2nd set of parents to us. They are having another New Years Eve party and bonfire and sons and I have been invited. :-)
3) Went to the doctors. Have been unwell the best part of a month (tummy thing) and she was very good, very thorough and I am going to go for blood tests. She hasn't a clue what it is but felt more positive after seeing her.
4) At mum and dad's now, hoping for a cup of tea...
5) Sorry I Haven't a Clue will be on later.
That's it! Still MrB worries but I've felt worse.0
