1. We had a great time helping at the school fete
2. I think OH felt guilty that he was feeling too ill to come with us, silly lovely man, so he gave us £5 each pocket money to spendI think DD's all went on candyfloss and popcorn!
3. DD now has enough money in her piggybank to buy her first ever CD
4. NSD - thanks to my best beloved
5. My bro and dad came across as they were vaguely in the area and fixed my car. Love them to bits!
6. Planning an early night with DD as we're both tired from our running around at the fete
7. DD was really helpful this morning with housework and has certainly earned her 50p pocket money this week
8. Lovely texts from OH during the fete
9. Did a survey so looking forward to the luncheon vouchers coming through the post
10. Just did a Reverbe and found 2p
11. Bro dropped off boxes of his childhood books that have been languishing in a friend's garage for a couple of years. I've sifted out a goodly few for DD, and some more for friend's sons and the rest will go to charity this week
12. Got some lovely beans and lentils soaking in anticipation of a big heaty soup for dinner tomorrow night, nomnomnom
13. Brought home lots of great books from the fete, I mustn't go to the library for a good few weeks as I have more than enough to read....but bet I won't be able to resist the siren call of the library!0 -
Evening all.3. DD now has enough money in her piggybank to buy her first ever CD
I remember that moment from when I was a kid - so exciting! (I'm not telling you what the album was, except to say that I have far, far better taste in music these days!)
1) A nice long lie-in this morning to make up for a dreadful night's sleep - I was so cold as I'm sleeping under my summer duvet at the moment, my winter one being at the launderette after dearest mog was sick over it while I was out one night. (One of those 'why do I have a pet?' moments.)
2) Managed to wade through a decent chunk of my OU course so I'm not quite as far behind as I was.
3) Got my Amaz0n bargain wireless mouse set up, and was amazed at how easy it was.
4) I finally got round to doing something with the bag of apples I dropped and badly bruised a couple of weeks ago - they're currently being stewed with nutmeg and a splash of whisky.
5) Not at all OS, but very nice - RM pizza from the counter of my local supermarket. I know it would be cheaper and healthier to make my own, but the supermarket ones taste taste so good.
Right, I must go and make a start on the quiz I volunteered to write for the work Xmas do - if anyone knows why I did that, please let me know.Back after a very long break!0 -
Good evening all !
riversong -I hope that you are having a peaceful weekend and that your tinies are more settled x
frith - phoning your boyfriend , imagine that :rotfl:When I think of the hours I spent in my youth sitting on an uncomforable cupboard in the hallway with a red analogue dial phone chatting to boyfriends ( one at a time please!!) with the lounge door firmly closed so that the "aged p's" (Dickensian term) couldn't hear their shameless hussy of a daugher:rotfl:Love it!!
5 for today
1. Had an outing to Sc*tts to pick up chicken feed, poultry spice and oyster grit . I love it in this store . Thought of you millie- as they sell loads of horse clobber , especially stylish rugs without teethmarks on them ....Crikey! bridles are so much cheaper than they were in the '80's. How come?? There was a massive queue and and were served first as we had cash whilst others used cards and there was sort of problem with the till for some reason.
2. Made a batch of scones for OH's friend who came round and had hinted that he would like some . Got some rtc double cream , jam and fresh butter and he was genuinely chuffed with his "cream tea".
3. Used chicken and gray left over from the roast to make chicken and leek pie ,which I cooked in the slow cooker as I am not keen on next day food and this broke it down enough to not be able to taste the difference iyswim? Made the pie tops with a block of puff pastry and made a large batch of cheese straws with the leftover pastry - which OH's friend took home in a doggy bag.
4. Reading "sleeping with the enemy", which I got for 50p in the library sale some months ago. I have seen the film so many times and so far it is nothing like the film.
5. A glass of cheap hock - classy bird me xxx:)
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Me toooo, but I shall admit to mine being Bon Jovi!! I would like to say that my taste in music is better, but I am still partial to a bit of Jon!! Is yours more badass than that?Had an outing to Sc*tts to pick up chicken feed, poultry spice and oyster grit . I love it in this store . Did someone mention rugs??? I was only saying to Mum this morning that Oldie could do with (yet) another heavyweight turnout! Mum didn't agree, for some unknown reason - apparently there is a limit to the number of rugs one pony is meant to own...who knew! Bridles can be megacheap now, esp when they are imported leather! Oldie still has her show bridle from the 1980s- she does a flipping runner when she sees it though, as it means giving ponyrides to smallpeople
Mine for today
1. Mum and Dad finished off the yard this morning while I hot-footed it off to the post office to sort out my (non existent) passport. Horses all behaved for them! And I was first in the queue at the PO, which gained me some evil glares from the regular old ladies. I smiled back
2. Did a bit of xmas shopping while I was in chaville. Still hopelessly disorganised though!!
3. Found a bit of a bargain pressie for FIL from TK Maxx (don't like him, suppress the urge to poke him in the eye every time I see him, but he is OH's Dad, so needs must!)
4. Mum came home with a lovely (accessorise) nail varnish kit that she'd won on a tombola somewhere = another xmas pressie sorted (want to keep it though). Can't imagine why anyone gave it away!
5. OH is out with his mates, dressed as Rolf Harris. No, I have no idea why. Yes, he does look like a prat. Much as I miss him, there is a bottle of Rioja and a Gu cheesecake thingy with my name on. Yay!!
-1. Ref 5: My clothes are still shrunken, odd that!!
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
Agh, mum just reminded me of a #6
Philippe, our resident pheasant very nearly ate out of my hand today (I had gloves on!) he comes to the yard every morning for his breccie and he makes a bee line for me! He's been around for over a year and hasn't been squished on the road! Naturally, GSD is scared of him!0 -
Quick before my phone battery conks out!!!
1) Both boys are fine today, the piriton knocked toddler son out and he had a marathon nap today.:)
2) Had a quiet day in with the family and did some baking. Nom!
Thanks again for all your kind words. *mega hugs*0 -

:rotfl:Looks like Oldie wears a clean vest and pants each day then??HHHHMMM I wonder what Santa will bring her this year .. obviously not a smallperson in jodphurs wanting a pony ride , unless they can reach the bolt of the feed room door.....

1. Laundry (winter sweaters etc) line dried in about 4 hours in sunshine and stiff breeze. I don't recall putting laundry out on 3rd December before
2. Postie brought me a shampoo, now have enough for poss a couple of years as I only use a teaspoonful and wash once. The tutor at college on Thurs said what lovely condition my hair is in, perhaps because I don't overload it with products?
3. Wearing a 14 sweater and not looking like Mitchelin woman
4. Made a wreath for the front door from dried berries/bay leaves (unfortunately can't use the ivy which grows profusely along my side fence as I'm allergic), it looks quite effective. Just hope it lasts
5. Friends phoned to arrange our outing tomorrow to a Christmas village at a water mill, it's the place to go every year for deccies, old fashioned gifts etc., and a lovely tea served by waitresses in Victorian costume
Sweet dreams0 -
Evening all! Hope everyone is Ok and that Riversong's little ones are doing well.
Does Reverbe ever visit here now? I always liked her posts and think of her every time I find money.
Let's see what I can dredge up for today:
1. Glass of red wine tonight - a freebie from a meal out the other night. I drink very little so there's plenty left for another few nights.
2. Arranging to Skype a couple of friends later on this week.
3. Finding a great new blog to read. The list of blogs in Google reader is getting ever longer...
4. Yummy savoury rice tonight - with enough garlic to kill every vampire in the UK.
5. Getting the annual form completed for my mum's finances. One more chore out of the way!
6. Another sleep in the aftenoon.
7. Editing another chapter of my novel. It takes forever, though! I'm always finding things to tweak and I'm never quite satisfied.
8. Another bowl of thick lentil soup and a roll for lunch, plus homemade yoghurt and fruit.
9. Chatting with my lovely friend on the phone this evening. He's lovely and we have plenty in common - shame there's no spark between us! We're going to spend time together tomorrow.
10. Paring down and working through my to-do list.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Well, it's 3.20am.
I don't know where to start.
I should be asleep at MrB's. I presume he is still asleep. Instead, I got up, packed and drove home at about 1am.
I don't even know what I'm doing. All I know is that I went round there today, one of 2 days a month we get with no children, and again felt that we didn't really talk, we just watched television then he went to sleep. This despite the email I sent last week saying I was unhappy with the relationship.
I feel terrible that he will wake up and I won't be there. I feel like some weirdo for not being able to cope with the relationship not having a physical side.
