I just breathed a sigh of releif, my brothers little one had meningitis many years ago and it was so hard when you can't take the pain away.
Glad he's on his way back to be pampered.0 -
Thank goodness for that xx V relieved for you - I didn't want to go to bed before I'd heard that he was ok. Try to get some rest now and I hope that they are both much better in the morning
Big hugs xx0 -
They're both snoring away. Baby boy is even sleeping sounder, I'm sure they sleep easier subconciously knowong each other's there.x0

Chickenopolis - your chickens sound brill! I so want some but OH won't have it!
riversong - sorry to hear this - I hope your babies get better soon and do keep us posted.
1. Had both yearly appraisal with my boss and had to give a presentation to the company GM today. Both things I was not looking forward to. Both went OK and are now over!! The pleasure is in my relief.
2. Watched an episode of Frozen Planet I had recorded
3. Ordered a present online yesterday for my brother in the afternoon, and it arrived today, fully giftwrapped. Great service!
4. Entered a competition online and won and instant prize of outdoor clothing cleaner stuff (hey, I will use it!)
5. It is wine o'clock
Another CCP here!0 -

My friend calls herself Crazy Cat Lady as she says she will end up an old lady surrounded by lots of cats
Sounds a good way to end up! Cats are gorgeous!
Riversong, pleased to hear that it was insect bites (quite bad enough!)
Mine for today:
1. Day off work - much needed.
2. The smell and taste of my homemade bread.
3. My monthly grocery shopping coming in under budget.
4. Thick homemade lentil soup for lunch.
5. Texts from a friend who's usually not great at keeping in touch - a nice surprise.
6. Getting everything done on my to-do list.
7. Using the new software I found to help me edit chapter 1 of my novel. It's proving very useful at catching problems I haven't spotted. And it's free!
8. Afternoon nap. I do like having a siesta after lunch, even if we don't have a Mediterranean climate here!
9. Yummy beanburger for my evening meal.
10. Arranging a curry with a friend. I do like Asian food!Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Thank goodness, Riversong, I'm so very relieved for you. DS had meningitis, 'fortunately' the viral strain, when he was 7 so I empathise greatly. I used to use calamine lotion if my LO's had bites as it soothes the itching.
1. Another present for a family member arrived in the post today, almost there now
2. Got a free miniature of posh whisky in the post, will send it to ex OH. We'd agreed not to buy each other anything this year but I didn't buy it. Still won't have alcohol in the house so neighbour is looking after it til I need to send it
3. Drinking some of the tea a lovely OS'er sent me. Thank you, I'm thoroughly enjoying it
4. Frozen Planet, thoroughly enjoyed every programme
5. nsd/npd, love that sort
Sleep well0 -
Riversong - so relieved your little one is on the mend and it's an easily resolved issue. Big hugs to you all xx
1. Made some yummy looking cakes for tomorrow's school fete, and DD decorated them for me
2. Went food and petrol shopping and was genuinely strict with myself and only bought what we need, with no 'extras'. I nearly bought some own-brand pretzels that are a very good taste copy of the branded version, but when I realised the price has doubled to £1 for a smallish bag in a couple of months, I decided to put them back - just finished polishing my halo in celebration of my thrift, lol
3. DD and her friend drew me a fab poster for another fete I have to attend tomorrow
4. I called my solicitor and contacted my financial advisor to get the house stuff properly under way
5. Lovely text from a friend this morning
6. Lots of people helped me set up my stall for the fete tomorrow - I've still done my usual thing of lugging too many heavy boxes around, but am dosed up with painkillers so will be fine by morning0 -
After a couple of unexpectedly teary, stressy days am back on track so here are mine:
1. Lovely friend picked me up for coffee with two ex work colleagues. Ended up in C@sta where she treated us to a lovely gingerbread latte. She kindly used my C@sta card for points too. :-) Had great chat and put the world to rights.
2. Tree is up and decorated with help of DS and DD. Very bling and multi-coloured with double quantity of lights. LOVE iT!
3. Doing a bit more knitting and getting to grips with casting off and on in the middle of a piece of work. Phew!
4. Went to Asd@ with OH (I'm still not driving until next week) and managed to use a fair few coupons off my shopping. Every little helps!
5. OH cooked a lovely tea of pork chops, reduced veg, and apple sauce. DD out at party so we have extra helpings!
Am off to my school CHristmas fair today with kiddies. Be good to see some of my class. I miss them.
Happy Saturday everyone. xx0 -

riversong - PHEEEW !!sigh of relief for your little one:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Glad all is well, Riversong.
5 for yesterday (Friday).
1) Lovely post! Sons 2 bandanas came (bigger son is growing his hair and his fringe is now chin length...) Then a strange letter - a tax refund from 2005-2006!!!! It isn't thousands but will go towards a new kitchen. (Or should I say - a kitchen - having had a piece of work surface and 2 old cupboards for the last 12 years!)
2) My mum popped in for a cup of tea.
3) Watched Holby City.
4) Smaller son being odd at school again so I had to go in and speak to the headmistress. She wants CAMHS involved (as does the class teacher). They can do that if they like but I think he'd be better off seeing an Ed Psych. No one has noticed (since he won't talk at school!) that he is quite bright and good at maths, but can't write his own name confidently... Anyway, we are off to see the paediatrician next week so I have to tell him my concerns then school's concerns.
5) My sister came round for tea.
6) Watched Celebrity with sons.
7) Laptop is slowly packing up which meant I had to speak to MrB ON THE PHONE rather than online, something we have only done twice! :-)0
