  • Evening all!!

I have a bit of a manky throat and a chill (again). Wish my immune system would just fight it off, or let it run its course. *growls*

    Mine for today

    1. Oldie (again) - she made us all laugh this morning by her sheer determination to break into the feed room again. We just open her stable door in the morning and she lets herself out into her paddock, but I had forgotten to warn Mr Ponycarer of her new (old) trick and tell him to keep the feed room door shut- he set off after her in hot pursuit, with me and Mrs Ponycarer falling over laughing :D It's a good job they adore her as much as I do, otherwise it'd be a red card job!!
    2. Played in the field with GSD and her ball- she is yet to master (aged 10) the art of retrieval and instead runs around with it in her mouth going "look at meeeeee". When I turn away, she drops it behind me and stands with her head on one side, waiting for me to throw it. Love the divadog!!
    3. Finished one lot of marking. What I don't know about hypercholesterolaemia ain't worth knowing. Yawn!
    4. Sticking to my "take MIL out more" resolution, I took her to a garden centre xmas thingy tonight- there was a demo, mulled wine, mince pies, fondue (nom), wine tasting and shopping. I bought OH some nice port for xmas and bought a couple of foodie things too AND, most importantly, some post-it notes with Reindeer on. Any work related messages between now and xmas will be scrawled on these!
    5. Lovely chat on the phone with my lovely friend :)

Have just chased the wabbits into their chicken coop loft and I am off to bed soon to adopt a starfish position as OH is out :D

Everything x'd for you tomorrow purplekitten

    1. DGS passed his driving test :)

    2. Laundry dried outside, amazing on the 1st December :D

    3. Went to the college for a trim and blow dry, looks/feels so much better now, partly because it only cost £8

    4. Made a 'use up-the-veg' omelette for lunch with augergine, red onion, chestnut mushrooms and grated carrot. Sounds wierd but was really good, filling and very cheap

    5. Watched the ultimate guide to penny pinching - pleased I'm not quite so desparate to save money that I buy food I don't like ! Interesting to see how others save

    Sweet dreams :)

Purplekitten - good look for the interview x

Well, folks, what a day and a bit! After having the offer on the dream house accepted, I was in a bit of a daze, then a panic about taking such a huge step, increasing my mortgage (sigh), being on my own etc etc. So here's 2 day's worth of what I can remember :)

    1. NSD on Thursday

    2. Amaz0n paid out on a book I sold

    3. OH's birthday on Wednesday - DD and I made a scrummy cake and decorated it 'beautifully'. We took it over and shared it with his family, and it was so cute to see DD and OH's nephew both eyeing up the last piece :)

    4. Naughtily treated us to OH's favourite fish and chips, but I did have a kids' meal to keep the costs down, which oddly enough for someone like me, was enough :)

    5. The above gave me a much-desired can of diet pop, a toy (yay :) ) and a gingerbread man, which I heroically resisted and put in DD's packed lunch yesterday, so all in all, it was quite a bargainous meal........oh, ok, I'm just trying to justify it now, but £13 for dinner for the 3 of us was quite bargainous! ;)

    6. Had an amusing time in an off-licence trying to find a decent bottle of wine for me and OH to celebrate his birthday......turns out if it doesn't come from Chile, Australia or America, it doesn't exist in that place! Won't go there again, as they didn't have any of my beloved French wines....

    7. I had a day's leave yesterday and took OH out for his birthday treats - a haircut and posh shave, followed by a meal. All prepaid using vouchers, so that's how I managed the NSD :) Even the parking was free as luckily the metered space allowed for free blue badge parking :)

    8. I started feeling ill on the drive back home, so we popped into OH's to set up his new computer and I ended up being tucked up in his bed by his mum for a couple of hours. So nice to have them all in my life :) I still feel pretty ropey now which is why I'm up typing this at 2:30am, but hopefully it'll pass soon.

    9. OH, despite feeling far ropier than me probably due to missing a dose of medication at lunchtime :(, still babysat DD for me so I could go to my course.

    10. I had a major panic about moving, and sent my parents an email about it with an alternative suggestion of staying in my current house........to which they nicely phoned in response and told me that I shouldn't worry so much, and that they really want me and DD to live there, thinking of practical ways to assuage most of my fears :) OH had already had a very similar conversation with me and gave me a big hug when I burst into tears about it all.

    11. OH's surveyor b-i-l gave the house a look over externally and sent me a great email saying I should get the purchase agreed as it's a great house:)

    12. I had a great chat with a very dear friend.

    All sounding good, Kittikins.:-)

5 or so for yesterday (Thursday)

    1) First day of Advent calendars!

    2) Boys back to school quite happily.

    3) Had a big tidy up and swept outside.

    4) Made tea ready for brother to come and babysit.

    5) Went out here: http://www.warwickartscentre.co.uk/events/music/the-ukulele-orchestra-of-great-britain-2011/ Quite a jaunt to get to from my house (car journey then 1.5 hours on trains) but got a lift back with MrB.

    6) Got home and sons had had a nice time with my brother and he had got them to make cards ready for my mum's birthday!

Bit :-( this morning as still not sure re: the MrB situation. I am ridiculously run down though and have had a bad tummy on and off for 3 weeks and have just finally made a doctor's appointment for Monday so hopefully will feel more positive generally after that.
