    Pleasures for today;
    1. DD very excited that I have bought some concert tickets for a couple of weeks time
    2. Given a matched funding check at work today for £100 for a charity walk I did in July. I had forgotton all about it so very nice to be able to send off to Walk the Walk (Breast cancer awareness charity).
    3. NSD thats 2 in a row but sorely needed after lots of high spends recently and know there is more to come
    4. Free newspaper at work as no one had read the Times in reception so brought it home to read
    5. Resisted the very strong urge to get takeaway this evening and made a quick cheat chicken curry and rice.

Hugs to all who need them

(((Hugs))) chicken and Mr chicken, good that he's home, hope a good rest will put him back on his feet. Agree about wealth, OS living gives me just what I need/want to be happy.

    1. Took DD's new shoes for her to try on, they're perfect

    2. DGD2 and I went window shopping - funny how things end up in trolleys when she comes with me ;). Both items she wanted were reduced though, she's learning :)

    3. Had a yummy pub lunch, DGD2 pointed out to me all the items on the menu which were 2 for £10. Definitely learning well! :D

    4. Bought a pair of trousers in a size 12 - first 12's I've had for years. They're a tad tight yet but this time last year I was wearing a 16/18, so am happy the new ones will soon be comfortable

    5. Bought a paperback guide to Rome which DGD2 and I went through when we got back to her home. Lots of tips for cheap bus/metro tickets, entrance fees etc. Hurry up April!

Hugs to everyone, sleep well :)

    Hope MrChickenopolis is OK now.

5 or so for today (Weds)

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Quick journey into Brum on the train.

    3) Went to Thinktank with sons and they enjoyed showing me the bits they'd seen on their school trip. I enjoyed looking at the stuff from the old Science Museum where my grandparents took me. :-)

    4) Went to House of Fraser (still Rackhams to me) and sons spent half an hour "testing" some massaging chairs!

    5) Went to the Christmas market and had some burgers and some wonderful mushrooms in garlic sauce. And some Berliners. (doughnuts, not people).

    6) Texts from MrB and we're off out tomorrow. :-)

    hello!

1.I've had a lovely day off work: most productive yet relaxing.

2.Made strawberry jam first thing, very delicious.

3.All kids beds stripped, washing & ironing up to date, bathrooms cleaned, bedrooms tidied & kitchen cupboards washed & sorted! (has been on a mental to do list for a while, so I'm glad I have done that), Christmas mugs & plates & bowls etc brought out to be used this month. Biscuit tins & cups too....I have a lot!

4.Had time for a wee snooze!

5.Have cancelled DD2's breakfast club at school as I'll be starting work later. The money saved will go towards her school uniform. Got her school fees & booklist in today.....$960 all in(623pounds!) horrible, horrible, horrible :(

6.Made a very nice spag bol for tea.

7.I've been listening to Radio 2 online for hours & enjoying the banter & music!

8.Nice chit chats with my friend & niece & Baby! Who was chattering away to me!

9.Went to supermarket this morning , I hadn't done this shop last weekend, and managed to get eggs, brocolli, apples, fruit juice and flowers all RTC. Fresh cherries are in season & were cheap & bananas are back to normal prices, so got quite a bit for my money today! Treated myself to a food magazine ,which has a very nice calendar free & an iced apple cake!

10.Feel quite rejuvenated by a day off....off to bed now to start a new book.
  • Wow please keep everything crossed for me I have an interview out of the blue for a self employed role, that I applied directly to the company for a week ago now, I go in to chat with them tomorrow, I’m soooo excited I’m bouncing about.

I caught up with an old work colleague today and it was lovely to chat, we had obviously both been thinking I must call...

Cuddles with lovely animals, flea treating, ear treating and washing all of the bedding.

Tea is was a lovely little pre made asda chicken veg pie with potatoes, veg and gravey.

    Good evening all !

CCP - glad to hear that you are ok.

purplekitten - re the job quandry - whats right for you is well... right :) Good Luck tomorrow!!!!

sparrer - well done on the weight loss!

    6 for today

    1. Had an early night ( 8.30pm) and slept like a log :D

    2. Got a lot achieved at work today.

    3. Day off tomorrow as I no longer work on a Friday:):)

    4. Hens came out of their bedroom in the dark and the rain to pester me for food when I came home from work. They stand upright like Indian ducks when it rains and look really funny.

    5. Got another "tastecard" in the post this time for my brother - (thanks again sparrer;)) I will persuade him to go out more next year.

    6. I am so excited about watching the penny pinching and Amish teen programmes that are on tonight on Ch. 4. I have told OH to make sure that I stay awake.

Have a good evening all !

    Evening all.

    1) You may remember (OK, you probably won't, actually ;)) that a few weeks ago I treated myself to a posh scented candle as it was half price. It proved to be faulty - after an hour or so it went out and wouldn't relight  - and I've been trying to contact the maker ever since. I finally heard back from them today and they've sent me vouchers for the full purchase price: I saw the other day that the candles are still on special offer, so I can get two candles to replace the faulty one. :D :money:

    2) Bought myself a nice, autumnal-coloured bunch of flowers RTC.

    3) Chinese fakeaway for dinner, courtesy of AF. :money:

    4) And, in true OS style, I chopped up the chicken in very small pieces to make one small chicken breast stretch for two meals. :money:

    5) Watching another episode of Frozen Planet - now there's a programme that makes you grateful for central heating! ;)

Purple kitten - the very best of luck for tomorrow.
Back after a very long break!
