  • Ive not posted in a week or so; had a really rubbish day today- the kind where you feel like crying and running away. But, putting things in perspective I've moved in with my gorgeous other half this year after 4 years of payingboff debts, have a lovely home & a good job, so I should be thankful not grumpy! :0)

    My 5 for today:
    1) my team have smashed their monthly target by this morning, meaning that in the month I've been looking adter them they've hit & they will get some bonus :0) meaning happy team!
    2) planning christmas & my big bro with kitty coming to visit. And even though he's in his 30's i got him a dr who calendar, was only £1 so a nice treat!
    3) leftover chick n veg curry & rice for my lunch- yummy & frugal
    4) boyf went to library when I stayed late & got me a book on mexico :0) 11 months until we go on hol. Plenty of time to get excited
    5) snuggling on sofa under blankets as our heating still isn't fixed; all snug & cosy though under here!
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!
  • Kittenkirst - ((hugs)) I so know how you feel! Hope tomorrow is a better day.

I went down to London for work yesterday and came back this eve so 5 for yesterday were:

    1. It's always surreal being transplanted from remote Aberdeenshire to central London. One extreme to the other!

    2. Lovely sunset on the plane down - I sat looking west - the colours and clouds could have made me weep

    3. Lovely stay in luxury hotel! Overlooking the London Eye and Big Ben!

    4. I gasped with delight as there were Elemis toiletries!

    5. Nice evening mooching with wine and pizza room service :)

    And 5 for today:

    1. Workshop at work today was dry but very informative

    2. I got to meet some nice colleagues who I've only ever spoken to on the phone

    3. Home to tea made by OH of veggie toad in the hole (well, that was a frozen ready made), parsnip and carrot fritters and sweetcorn. Strange but lovely.

    4. Made all the more yummy watching Masterchef while we ate (although Michel Roux Jnr would have a fit if he saw what we were eating!

    5. Home sweet home to my lil gang. I'm such a homebird and hate being away!

Hugs kittenkirst, hope the cuddles with boyf help chase away those dark clouds and that tomorrow is a MUCH happier day for you x

    1. Yippeeskippedee, a second NSD in a row :) I nearly bought something at lunchtime as my packed lunch was a bit sparse, but then I remembered I have rice cakes in my desk

    2. Passed on a receipt for reimbursement for an expense, only £5 or so, but hey, every little helps!

    3. Had a fabulous time at my volunteer lesson today, I'm trying to help out different kids each week, and A and T were so gorgeous and really tried hard :)

    4. Found out more about a children's drama group that DD and I want to get involved with next term

    5. We had the second viewing at the dream house this afternoon with DD and my parents - we all LOVE the place and I've put an offer in!!! Will find out tomorrow if its accepted, fingers crossed etc etc I'm excited but also scared and feel =very, very grown up. My parents agree that we can just move in and do things slowly around us.

    6. I made a fabulous soup in the slow cooker and scrummy bread rolls for our dinner, nomnomnom

    7. Great day at work

Sat up waiting for DD to come back from her school trip to Stratford to see Measure for Measure - quite an experience for her as she is a real thesp and am a little jel as i haven't ever been.

    So mine for today

    1. Drove to work - sod it why not?
    2. Productive performance review where i seem to have been persuaded to do a PhD
    3. Chocolate fingers at meeting :D
    4. Went to visit a 6th form for DD without her there - but actually think this might be "the one"
    5. Yummy jacket potato with last nights left over chilli for tea - followed by "appleish muffins" YUMMY

With regards to the autumn statement, i have my fingers in my ears and am going "la la la la la".
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Exciting about the PhD VJsmum - what's the subject?

It's flipping freezing here. I've been sitting in my shoes and coat and have given in and switched the fan heater on. Hot drink, hottie and my duvet are calling I think!

    1. Finding a cheaper solution to getting DS1 a tshirt printed for the weekend. The local shop quoted £22 for a one-off. so I bought a packet of computer printed iron-on transfers which means we'll make one using an old tshirt for about £1.50.

    2. Watching DS1 and DS2 doing some really good coaching today.

    3. Looking at a stunningly beautiful orange sunset in the middle of an inky sky at tea time.

    4. Finding that the hardback A4 notebooks that I use for a HM diary and everything-else-book each year were on a two for one so I bought my 2012 book and have one to put by for 2013. Talk about forward planning!

    5. Spending some time in the company of the happiest one year old ever. Just a joy.

    Sweet dreams and keep warm

    1. No heating today, really mild here and one of the cats is sitting on my lap keeping me warm just now. A bit difficult to type over her but she's purring away so don't want to disturb her - the things we do for our animals!

    2. Arranged to take DGD2 shopping tomorrow, DD isn't too well atm well so gives her time to rest

    3. Postie brought DM's Christmas presents, only a few more to get now

    4. Gave some bricks left over from a project to a freecycler, I got them from freecycle so they've certainly helped a few people out

    5. Watched 'Money' on 2, interesting theory but too American imho, however good luck to those who are trying to make money by spending thousands on seminars, books, cd's, dvd's etc :p

    Sleep well :)

2.Started work slightly later & worked later . Made porridge for breakfast!

3.Wore tartan shoes (converses) in honour of it being St Andrew's Day!

4.Took banana bread into work & was complimented!

    5.PTA tonight!

I drove to work in a thunderstorm, having never driven in one before. The sky was so,so dark & lit up by amazing flashes of lightning, but I jumped each time it flashed! Felt a lot cooler which is much more pleasant I think!
