Hello ladies,
Hope you are are all well. Everyone's posts seem to be quite cheery today which is always great to hear.
I am now firmly ensconced at my parent house which is lovely as always. I had a 6am flight this morning but my dad came to pick me up from the airport which was very nice of him. It is a little chillier here yesterday though... bring on the sunshine!!!
1) Being home (even though this is not the home I grew up in) at my parents
2) Cuddles with my little nephew before my DB and new DSIL left to visit some friends in a nearby town. Though the little love did throw up on me as usual. I am beginning to think that he saves all his vomit for me... surely a sign of love?
3) a 3 hour nap this afternoon (are you jealous Chicken??)
4) Yummy roast beef and salad sandwich for lunch... I love freshly made sandwiches (but not the mucky things that get serves at meetings or at places like pret or M+S)
5) Apple danish for breakfast... always a pleasure and never a chore!!
6) Going to have a lovely long bath this evening
7) My DSIL doing my washing and hanging ut up before they left :A
I hope you all have a lovely evening...
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Mine for the last couple of days:
1. OH has been busy which is wonderful as this time last year he had no work on at all.
2. Popped into town (OH dropped me off between jobs) and had a lovely couple of hours mooch. Got some Christmas bits from W!lkinson and had a naughty hot chocolate in the museum cafe.
3. Managed to find matching (well, almost) thread so OH can sew up DD's cerise pink party dress that she wants to wear on Friday. (He's much handier with the needle than me I am ashamed to say)
4. Wrapped up about 10 presents the cheats way with gift bags and tissue paper. (All bought last year cheaply in the sales, of course!)
5. Gave OH a hug as he seems rather stressed and rushed at the mo. We both vowed to get some quality time soon.
6. Friend texted to say she will pick me up on Thursday morning and take me out for coffee with a couple of other friends from work. (I'm still not driving)
7. As kids are off on Wednesday we plan to use the day to get all Christmassy, putting up the tree and all the lights etc. I have even bought them a little Christmas choccy to help the festive mood and will try to find some festive music to accompany us. :-)
Hope you have all had good days, will read through your entries later when not so rushed. xx0 -
Thanks, Kittikins.
Glad things are better for you now, Ladyhawk.
5 or so for today so far. (Tues).
1) Boys off to school happily.
2) Went to the JobCentre to see how much worse off I will be once I have a job (isn't it a silly system!) Well, about £50 a month worse off but I need a job and need to start paying something into my pension again. The JobCentre lady is one of those people who needs putting forward for an OBE, she is so helpful and jolly. :rotfl:
3) Only went into 1 charity shop as I had given mum a lift into town and she was ready to go home once I got out of the JobCentre. Anyway, had a quick look around and there were 2 massive airfix models for £2 each so there will be 2 happy sons when they get back just now.
4) Made this cake: http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1967/blackberry-and-apple-loaf
5) Went for a walk.
6) Sitting by the stove now and looking forward to Holby City later.
and 7) very much looking forward to tomorrow when we are going to take advantage of the teacher's strike (sons off school) and go into Brum by train to get some decorations and look round the Christmas market. :-)0 -
3) a 3 hour nap this afternoon (are you jealous Chicken??)
YES !!! Ladyhawk- Apart from the child vomit you sound as if you are being spoilt rottenIts good to hear !
Frith - As long as Father Frith remembers which hand his bacon sarnie is in instead of the holly -ouch . Thanks for the cake recipe it looks lovely - food pornography
5 for today
1. Explosive meeting with one of the Providers I currently work with . I took my lovely Assistant along as a "witness" and to take minutes. It started badly but ended well after 4 hours of errr.....negotiation.
2. Another meeting in the afternoon with different Providers and they said that they were really pleased to see me ! Blimey rough with the smooth day again:D
3. Got home around 4pm and my Mum popped over from next door to tell me "The Woodlanders" was on tv (Thomas Hardy). I am a sucker for T.H. and the actor in it Rufus (which is Russian for red don't you know) Sewell .
4. OH has just told me that he has been feeding a frog that is sat on our back door mat with worms .It has been croaking around a bit for a day of two so it seems as if we may have adopted it.
5.Quiet night in as OH is going out. Just me and the frog it would seem.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
. Just got back from the German Markets with OH. We were meant to be xmas shopping in town, but (blame the mulled wine) kind of went off track and bought a grand total of...drum roll.... one present- oops!!
Are you keeping the german markets going single handed?Never fear - i am there tomorrow so you won't be doing it alone!

Ladyhawk, it sounds lovely to be home.
Chickenopolis, your comment about the food pornography, made me laugh out loud, love it.
Another for yesterday: Yummy chicken fajitas, they are a faff but a nice change for tea.
Cleared out the freezer all of the bolognaise leftovers are going into making the best shepards pie I have ever tasted!
Went to the vets for a check up and all fine.
Woke up with a doozy of a migraine, lucky enough that I have some strong prescribed painkillers for times like that and it’s holding it at bay nicely.
Talked to the mortgage people they aren’t happy but I’m doing all I can so I am trying not to dwell on it, just hoping I can secure a role rapidly now, everything crossed, I just hope I can get something before they get to annoyed. I can’t think about it too much it scares me and stresses me out.0
