Kittikins - excellent news!0

Lovely news Kittikins.
My five for Wednesday:
1. The sunshine this morning.
2. Following up on the idea of using PC for Kindle freebie downloads. It means I can always have a book or two on the laptop and some free books will be useful for work anyway.
3. Starting on the X**s present shopping in a very tiny way, but at least I've started. Problem is that I've got so choosy about not buying unnecessary things that it's harder and harder to find presents!
4. Someone asking DS1 to get involved in a school olympics type sports event next year knowing that this might lead to a load more coaching work for him. Really kind of this person to spot the opportunity and to pass it on.
5. Found a reasonably good pair of gloves in the 99p shop. I realised that I'd lost one of mine earlier in the year and haven't got round to knitting new ones. These will do in the meantime and be backup after I've made some more.
Keep warm

Good evening all !
Kittenkirst -I hope that you have had a better day today ?
Kittikins- Excellent news , what a difference a few weeks makes
millie- good job it wasn't raw sugar beet, little monkey - I love your "oldie" already
sparrer- just watched the "money" programme on the iplayer . Gosh how odd- I am truly fascinated by peoples money habits and beliefs.Never felt the need to idolise millionaires or anyone else though tbh.
CCP -where are you my friend ? Hope you are ok ?
A few for today
Well not so good news OH went out last night and I received a phone call from his friend to say that he had taken a funny turn and that an ambulance had been called. OH had a seizure and was in A and E until the small hours with yours truly. He had one in about 2006 that I witnessed and it sounded like the same type of thing. He has been asleep most of the day , it would have been nice to have taken a day of leave to be with him, but....as I am a Public Sector worker who did not strike, I was told that none of us could take leave today because of the strike in order to provide cover. I have no ill feelings about it except that its the law of sod that it would be today !!
1. OH is ok
2. I managed to stay awake at work
3. Its payday
4. Yummy tea of HM egg fried rice and prawns in filo .
5. Looking forward to my bed and electric blanket.
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Cute - OH has just presented me with Julie Walter's autobiography from the charity shop- he was so pleased with himself and I didn't have the heart to tell him I'd already read it!! Ummm. Julie Walter's autobiography, anyone??0 -
Yay for new home Kittikins!
Thanks Chickenopolis, today was much better. I think I was just having an off-day so let things get on top of me. All is good now though!
Sorry to hear about your other half, glad he's okay though :0)
My 5 for today:
1. An experienced member of my team telling me I'm doing a good job (I've stepped in as a team leader until the New Year so its all still a bit new, a little bit of encouragement really helps.
2. Delish spagbol for dinner- yum
3. Followed by naughty Angel Delight
4. Its St Andrews day (enough said) :0)
5. Whilst the heating is off (still awaiting the landlord calling me back!) more snuggles under some blankets (OH wrapped me in 2 duvets & a blanket last night- felt like the princess & the pea- he does look after me!)
Off to watch Masterchef with my angel delight (oh the irony!) hugs & positive thoughts for all who need it xFirst home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -

2. Tea and cake with a friend in the village cafe
3. its was quite bright this afternoon
4. DS2 is home on leave for a week
5. DH made me a lovely cuppa this morning.0 -
Evening all.
Thanks for missing me, and I'm sorry I haven't been around for a bit - I've had a hectic few days and haven't had the chance to use my SAD lightbox, which has left me. (I tried to do some studying earlier but had to give up when I realised that, while I knew what each word meant, I had no idea what the whole sentence was saying.
)
1) A lovely rainbow as I was leaving the house this morning, which almost made up for the torrential rain which caused it.
2) LO sausage and bean casserole for lunch. This was my first attempt at cooking with dried beans (rather than canned ones) and I was really pleased with how well it turned out.
3) Got my mark back for my latest OU essay - it's not a great mark, but it's exactly what I thought it deserved (unlike my last one, where the mark was 20% higher than I expected it to be ).
4) Watching an HB episode on iplayer while eating dinner.
5) And managing to keep both my dinner and my glass of water out of mog's reach (he's recently re-discovered the game of drinking out of my glass of water every time I take my eye off it :rotfl:).
Chickenopolis - I hope your OH is OK.
Kittikins - how exciting - I'm really rather jealous (in a good way, of course).
I hope the above makes sense - I'm so tired I really can't tell.Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!0 -
OK well today was spent working.all.day.and.evening so it might be hard to eek out 5.
1. Veg box day
2. Had a wee dram for St Andrews day. Might have another.
3. Laughed at the Fenton video on youtube. FENTON!
4. Got lots of work done today
5. Nice veg and lentil soup for tea.
Have a nice evening everybody.0 -
chickenopolis: Hope your Mr Chicken is feeling better!
Just so you all know it's officially SUMMER today! (however, house was so chilly last night needed 2 quilts on bed!) but sun is shining ,I have a day off & plan to be very domesticated! Catch up with you all later.0 -
Chickenopolis: That is just sods law on strike day, I hope he is recovering.
1. A friend making me laugh when I was just about ready to blow a fuse, I had just had enough of people taking the mickey, I very nearly told a lady exactly what I thought of her, a lot more behind this but I will spare you all the long version, needless to say it takes a lot to wind me up to that point.
2. Made a very difficult decision, a role I applied for was very interested but in reality a very long journey there and back each day would have been about 4 hours travel, I would happily do it for the mortgage, but I have been hounded by the recruitment agency and had the interview moved 4 times now, so I told them I’m not interested which is very hard to do when quite frankly I want a job!
3. A few loads of washing and drying going on, it’s amazing how soon it mounts up.
4. Phoning my DD just cause to say hi, lovely to catch up with him and he’s on good form0
