    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Lovely nights sleep. I put the winter duvet on the bed so I was very snuggly. Don't think I moved all night and really didn't want to get out of bed this morning.
    2. Porridge for breakfast once I got to work and had a hot chocolate as well. We have a fancy machine at work that froths the milk so it was like the posh ones you get from Costa.
    3. Popped into Waitrose as they were doing the final reductions so got 3 packs of rump steak, huge gammon steak, lovely piece of fillet, pack of chipolates and a punnet of battered organic raspberries.
    4. HM Chicken fried rice for dinner with sweet chilli sauce followed by warm raspberry sponge using the battered raspberries.
    5. This one is a bit sad. Our local council has just given us food waste bins and I am very impressed by how little food waste goes into ours. Mainly veg peelings. My friend complained hers wasn't big enough:eek:

Hugs to all who need them
  • Evening all! Funny, messy sort of day here :dizzy:

Mine for today. Note that "marking" does not feature in any of them...

    1. Nice chat with lovely wise old lady this morning
    2. And a nice chat and cup of tea with Mrs Ponycarer
    3. Farrier telling me that oldie is looking "a bit too well". This is something I do need to keep an eye on as she is prone to laminitis, but I am paranoid about checking her digital pulses/feet/general soundness (pony people will know what I am blathering on about). Neither me nor ponycarer agree that she is looking "too" well", esp given that I have known and owned the pony for almost 24 years and know what "too well" looks like, but she does have a nice shine on her coat and she is v cheeky!
    4. Bought myself some furry ear muffs for £3.50 for mucking out/walking dog/mooching around the Alps. Yes, I am going to look utterly stoopid. Nope, I don't care
    5. Bit of a *spits out tea* moment when I read an email from Amazon with "your recommendations". Warning**Easily offended people may want to avert their eyes now**, but I was recommended this
    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Looks-Like-C-k/dp/1408802457/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1322085188&sr=8-1
Based on which of my purchases, Mr Amazon? I think I have been buying too many Freud books!!

Love and hugs to anyone in need xx

Millie2008 - that book got some excellent reviews!

5 or so for today (Weds).

    1) Sons enjoyed school and smaller son liked school swimming.

    2) Cleaning out of the store cupboard/freezer continues. Made lots of soup this morning (don't know how I ended up with 3 bags of lentils plus tins of the same).

    3) Went to my sister's to let her boiler fixing man in and he was very pleasant and I got to talk to sister's cat.

    4) Made spaghetti for tea (3 bags in the cupboard...) followed by apple and blackberry (3 bags in the freezer) crumble.

    5) Got a letter with an appointment to see smaller son's paediatrician - our favourite "man with toys" from all the specialists we have seen. A trip to see MrL means an afternoon off school and a hot chocolate in the hospital cafe. :-)

    6) Sister popped in so had cup of tea and crumble.

    7) Sitting in the living room. Can't move or go to bed as I am burning one of the "silly" logs that means I can't get the stove door shut!

    1. Mislaid a £25 gift voucher I'd bought for someone's birthday, searched the house for 2 days without success. Then last night just drifting off to sleep I thought 'dustbin'. Went out first thing, took a cereal box full of bits of paper out and there it was - phew! I'd put it in the wrong pile when I was sorting out some rubbish, and thank goodness it was black bin day today, not green
    2. Must be the day for the cards, like Ginger Snap I got out the Christmas cards I bought in the sales last Jan. 80 cards which cost the grand total of £2.70p.
    3. No need to buy wrapping paper this year as I have plenty from past years. Hm gift tags are pinking sheared from old cards, and the ribbons are the hanging loops in clothes
    4. Long chat on the phone with DS, always so good to speak with him and catch up on all the news
    5. Watching the pictures of the helicopter crash in New Zealand, and seeing the pilot walk away with bruises. Someone's higher power was watching over him :)

    Sleep well

What a good idea about finding a different use for all those hanging loops, Sparrer. One of my pairs of cotton jersey jama trousers has hanging loops. Does anyone ever hang up their pyjama trousers???! As I put away my latest pile of clean clothes I'll be cutting all the loops off now. :D

    My five for today:

    1. Popping into town for various bits and pieces and ending up looking at X**s hats and headbands with antlers etc to get ideas to make some things for an event we are at in a couple of weeks time. I think I may have got enough bits and pieces in my material stash to be quite creative.

    2. Speaking to my best friend on the phone at long last. He's not been replying to any of my attempts to get in touch with him and I knew it was because he's sliding into depression so I'm relieved that we have spoken and that he knows I'm there for him. We go back 30 years.

    3. Getting the washing done and dried.

    4. Listening to two radio plays on iplayer while I was sorting papers.

    5. My veg box are on a buy three get your fourth box free so I rang and checked that next weeks box is the free one, and it is. :T

    Sweet dreams

Okay, so when your 16 year old son drops 4 pints of milk (accidentally) on your highly varnished wooden floor & most of that 4 pints goes down the heating vents in the floor as quick as a quick thing.....whadda ya do?? Of course you think of your 5 pleasures of the day:

1.Teamwork! Between the 2 of us, getting soaked, him running for bowls & towels & even more towels (used ones from the bathroom!), we managed to use the kayak pump ( see it's handy having 2 kayaks!) to pump the milk (lots of it!!) and then tried to flush it all with clean ,soapy water!

2.We even managed to have a laugh! (slightly hysterically from me!) and there is no point crying over spilt milk.....apart from when it starts to smell but I've got my bicarb a-ready!

    3. Prior to this, had a good day at work, one of my colleagues has got a new job, he will be missed! Did an extra 2 hours today.

4.Been a most pleasant day, passed some beautiful gardens on way home, one had the most stunning roses and the Jacaranda trees are just starting to bloom their beautiful purple flowers.
Agagpanthus are almost out as well, we have lots in our front garden & they are the most stunning display when in full bloom.

    5. Still enjoying my book.....in between cleaning bathrooms & putting extra loads of washing on (milky ones!) . I hope to finish it this evening.

and a wee extra pleasure, my husband will be home after a few nights a way working!

    Have a good Thursday x

Hmm quite tempted by the book :D

    Mine for yesterday

    1. Excellent site visit with students, what a beautiful building but so it should be for £38 million
    2. Lots of YS at my local MrM - bread for 20p, croissants for 69p and lots more
    3. Went to a school production with DS and DD. Didn't really want to as none of mine in it but DD really wanted to go and see her friends. Pleasure was the DS agreed to come - just for his sister (is too young to leave alone and OH away)
    4. Stayed pretty much within my weightwatchers points for once - would like to lose half a stone before xmas (to put it all on again :rotfl:)
    5. Ooh, blimey a fifth. Erm...... looking forward to todays day off

    Enjoy your day, all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Mhagster - I had to chuckle there at the spilt milk and your reaction :D I would be the same, trying to think of the positives like the pollyanna I irritatingly am (to some). My OH would go mental - he hates spillage of any kind and creates like the world is ending lol!

    So, my 5 for yesterday:

    1. Funny kind of tea - hm mackerel fishcakes and left-over cottage pie from the day before. OH's mother sniffed at the cottage pie and didn't touch it on her plate. No wonder OH has food issues!!

    2. Banked another £100 from ebay. Overdraft is slowly getting cleared!

    3. Found some good deals on vouchercloud / my 'gourmet card' that is nearly ending, for tea out tonight

    4. My mum rang me unexpectedly mid-morning. We don't speak nearly enough but is always great when we do. I miss her so much.

    5. NSD
  • Good evening all,

Millie - my welsh mountain pony got laminitis in the spring , are you feeding oldie banoffi pie or something? :) I must say , I had heard that sales of that book were pretty slack..........:rotfl:;) It did make me laugh - thank you x

sparrer - well done on rescuing the voucher ( shoes in fridge day??). If it was truly lost I would have been thinking about it for the next 50 years .

    A few for today

    1. Getting stuck in to one of the reports that I need to write following my many site visits. This particular one is "political" so needs to be spot on , but succinct (CCP - I am now feeling your essay pain;))

    2. It was nice to actually see my colleagues as I have been out of office since the 14th November .

    3. Caught a man in the office looking at my bum , which he thought I wasn't aware of. I said "I know what you just did, you just looked at my bum" and he said that he had indeed been staring at it and then went bright red :rotfl::rotfl:

4.Hens were in but then came out when they recognised my car pulling up outside. They then ate some prawn crackers in the kitchen again.

    5. Day off tomorrow :T

Have a great evening all x
