Ginger Snap - you are welcome, but may not thank me later - Kemps is addictive
For today
1. Went on the later train to work
2. Bought 2 pots of M&S soup for £3 - bargain and the one i had for lunch (spicy lentil) was delish
3. Investment project ticking along nicely
4. Going for an unexpected drink with OH in pub tonight
5. long soak in bath this morning.
Got an hour of dashing around to do, tidying up for tomorrow. Then i am going to sit down with some knitting as i, too, have an order from Kemps to address!:cool:I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Firth: I hope you get what you need from Mr B very soon, it sounds like something you need to talk over to see reactions.
Thank you for all of the lovely birthday wishes, indeed there is leftover choocy cake that goes well with tea this evening, Chickenopolis, I am the last person to bring anyone up on spelling, I have make an effort to read and re-read things.
Back to reality today, running errands, so paid collected bagged coins over the counter in the post office, I expected a we only take 2 but they took the 7, only coppers and bits but every bit counts at the mo.
Applied for another role that they are hoping to take someone on quickly, fingers crossed
Received an Amazon goodie book from my brother, and it’s great simple recipes by Nigel Slater , just cooked a frittata, it looked more like cheesy scambled egg and ham but hey tasted ok just a 1 out of 10 on presentation.
Gradually getting the paperwork undercontrol, it’s under a foot high now... to me that’s achievement.0 -
hi all,
1. I am fit enough to walk to and from work (even though tired) since I have no bus fare.
2. We have enough food in the cupboard and freezer.
3. Payday is the end of this week!
4. No money means no spending.
5. I have my OH.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Evening
Frith - Hugs to you, I agree with Chickenopolis that you have to do something for you and don't rely on someone else to make you happy. As you have already proven so many times you are a strong capable woman and a wonderful mother.
Pleasures for today,
1. Stocked up on toiletries in the £ shop. The only deodarant that OH can use which normally costs about £3 was in stock today so bought 4 cans plus got the shower gel that doesn't cause his skin to flare up for £1 as well. May go back for some more tomorrow.
2. Received a £5 voucher for Tesco from a token collect
3. Rain stopped again just as I was leaving work so didn't get wet on the walk home
4. DD had prepared the veg for dinner. Made a hearty soup with pasta and sausages which went down very well with everyone in fact too well as none left for my lunch tomorrow
5. Just taken a loaf of bread out of the breadmaker for tomorrows lunches. Like CCP I never tire of the magic of a breadmaker.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all.
Quick post from me tonight as I'm feeling very sleepy.
1) Went shopping at lunchtime and all except one item on my list were on special offer. :money:
2) Chatting to my DSis on the phone and she sounds fairly cheerful, although she's apparently started having terrible nightmares again.(Although, having said that, I get quite bad nightmares as well, so it might be nothing to do with her illness. :undecided)
3) Arranged to go and visit DSis on Saturday, the day before her birthday, and paid for a chunk of the train fare with a voucher I picked up from the MSE email months ago. :money:
4) Easy dinner of LOs.
5) Watching an episode of the latest Hairy Bikers series, part of which was filmed in Portsmouth.
Hugs to all who need them, and particularly Frith.Back after a very long break!0 -
Frith - so funny about MrA
He'd be the last person you'd want trying to unfold a map in an enclosed space, but how lovely that we'd all be meeting up. Keep strong vis-a-vis MrB x
1. Naughtily I bought lunch today as I couldn't be bothered to take anything in, very naughty as I'm pretty brassick, but it was a scrumptious baked potato
2. Talking of scrumptious.......I made DD and I an amazing soup in the slow cooker, it was so good, DD had 3 huge bowls of it!!!
3. I'm hoping to babysit my friend's gorgeous baby girl tomorrow
4. I had a fabulous volunteer class today, even better than yesterday's! Different class, different sets of abilities, but oh so cute
5. Have set up an appointment to view a bungalow - sadly not til next week, but it sounds and from the outside, looks great. Fingers crossed!!0 -
Thanks, everyone for your help today. Some things sorted out, still some work to be done...
5 or so for today.
1) Sounds like sons had a good day at school.
2) Changed the bunkbeds and tidied their room out.
3) Went to see dad this afternoon.
4) Sent THAT email (it needed doing).
5) Watched The Incredibles with sons.
6) Am steadily cleaning out the food cupboard and freezer since I lost track of what is in there! Had 2 packets of cous cous for tea with some leeks and prawns. Some strange meals at the moment!0 -
Evening all, briefly as it's been a hectic day
1. batch of scones in the oven by 8am
2. No heating, the oven took the chill off the room
3. Lunch with DD in a local pub, excellent food/value
4. Trip to Matalan for hand towels on offer, 2 for £3
5. Bought a pair of red soled shoes for DD's Christmas present (:shhh:). Not really OS but the look on her face when she sees them will be priceless
Sleep well0 -
Sparrer - the pub lunch sounds good. I love eating out!
Kittikins - good luck with looking at the bungalow.
CCP - I'll be moving to Portsmouth in 2012!
Tealady - I'm with you about the breadmaker. I love mine and the smell of my bread baking is wonderful. I love being able to make all the speciality breads that are really expensive in the shops for a fraction of the price.
Mine for today:
1. Completing chapter 21 of my novel. Nearly there now. By Saturday I'll have finished writing my second novel and it feels great.
2. Yummy beanburger tonight. Nice and spicy.
3. Being told by the guy I'm working for that I'm good at my job and that he thinks things are working out well.
4. Spending the afternoon at an interesting workshop and meeting new people.
5. Phone call from a friend to arrange a get together soon.
6. Booking a curry with friends for next week.
7. Finding a new local writing group that I'm interested in joining.
8. Not feeling too bad this morning despite an overindulgence in red wine last night.
9. Being recommended a good marketing book to read.
10. On the theme of my breadmaker, enjoying toast from the loaf I made on Sunday.
Right, I'm off to bed. Hugs to those who need them.Life is not a dress rehearsal.0 -
Hello, another pleasantly 'cool' 19o.
1. Work was good....had female company which was nice for a change! Did an extra 2 hours again (in reality my original hours which had been cut back)
2.Made kids porridge for their breakfast. Has been a bit cooler past couple of days in morning so warmed them up!
3.Enjoying reading my book.
4.DD2 has a graduation ball in a few weeks (end of primary), apparently many girls are going to bridal shops for their dresses & hiring limos....er, don't think so! We popped down to Salvos (charity shop) & she tried on a beautiful dress, which even better was 1/2 price colour label , so dress bought for $4.00 ( 2.50 pounds!).
5.Cheap as chips, chips for tea!
Frith: not much more to add but que sera sera! Take care x
