Today feels like it went quite badly, but hopefully I'll be able to drag out 5 highlights!
    1. Pancakes for dinner (an indulgence because I couldn't face proper cooking but they were lovely. Thoroughly recommend the River Cottage recipe).
    2. Managed to get some work done for a voluntary organisation I work with.
    3. Tidied up the cupboard under the stairs
    4. Hmmmm, think 3 is enough!
Must get organised and rejoin grocery challenge!

Was absolutely shattered today with the cold bug that's going around, but took it easy and managed at least 5 pleasures:

    1. Having the house to myself since DS1 was out seeing friends for lunch and the afternoon and DS2 went to the Memorabilia exhibition in Birmingham with a friend so was out all day as well. I love having space to myself.

    2. Got lots done: tidying, work, paperwork, washing - including getting some of it almost dry outside, sorting recycling etc but did everything in little bits with lots of rests and naps and hot drinks to pace it.

    3. Made a very nice leek and potato soup for supper (from this week's vegbox leeks and last week's floppy ones :)) with croutons and cheese. DS2 asked for seconds but there weren't any. :D

    4. Sorted out my MrT Clubcard. I'd stopped using it and couldn't get into my account online. Have decided to bother getting points again because there are some bits and pieces I could get with Rewards.

    5. Beautiful mackerel sky (is that what you call it when it's all blotchy?) early evening which turned into a deep orange sunset on the horizon. Very pretty.

    Sleep well

I hope this works...My silly dog was trying to catch shadows

it is a lot of coat CCP and if it's not fully dried it goes all crinkly. Very pretty but a devil when it starts to tangle

Thank you for all your kind wishes. Sometimes things are sent to try us but it didn't send me rushing for the bottle or the cigs so I must be learning patience :)

    1. A long lie-in
    2. The sunshine
    3. The line of washing that almost dried before I brought it in
    4. nsd/npd
    5. Being offered free breakdown cover when I next renew my contents cover. Will look into it further beut seems a good deal at first glance

    Sweet dreams :)

    hello Sunday evening here!

1.baking fest: made meringues, lemon-coconut slice, cupcakes, strawberry sponge & lemonade scones!

    2. Very tidy house & HUGE ironing done!

3.DD1's birthday tomorrow but she celebrated with friends today with 'afternoon tea'.....dress code was pretty & they all rose to the occasion! They enjoyed cups of tea, homemade lemonade, lots of cakey things on pretty cakestands and my RTC tablecloth &cups & plates from Tesco! Then lazed about in the back garden! This time last year she didn't know anyone so it's nice that she has made such lovely friends.

4.OH cut grass & cut back some tree branches! I always cut grass back home (as he was usually over here!) but I will NOT go in the garden shed as I believe there are beasties lurking!!

5.Been a much more bearable & quite pleasant 19o today....that's more like it!
  • Mine for yesterday:

    1. DS was given the chance to be team mascot for the local rugby, full kit and 4 tickets to the match. :-) We all went along yesterday afternoon, my first time at the rugby, and had a great time. I really enjoyed the atmosphere, the singing and the excitement. Unfortunately our team lost, although they played very well, but never mind. DS had a great day!

    2. It was my first long outing since my op and included some lengthy walking about and I was chuffed to manage it okay. Was tired last night and in bed by about 8.30 (!) but never the less I did it. :-)

    3. DD back from her sleepover at friends house for a party and had a great time. Only 12 years old and her social life is amazing! The morning after the party they went to the cinema to see Twilight and did a bit of shopping and even managed Pizza HUt before returning home. Alright for some!! Its good to have her back though, I miss her company.

    4. Friend texted to say she's coming over today (was too ill last weekend) and will hopefully help me out with a few problems in my knitting. Am especially finding increasing hard without leaving holes all over the place!

    5. Been invited to another friend's for Sunday lunch in couple of weeks. Will start the Christmas season off perfectly as we will exchange presents as we dont see each other much as live far apart.

    6. (a sneeky one) Have just discovered the as*a cash back guarantee. Now that the £5 vouchers have finished I find that we are still often getting £2 or £3 back on a small shop just for checking their website. Helps pay for a little treat or two. :-)

Have a great Sunday everyone! xx

    1. Lying in bed this morning all warm with a cup of coffee looking out over the garden and the miserable fog!

    2. Coming home from town and feeling glad to be home = a really cheering cappucino which I appreciated all the more.

    3. Cleaning the house through and seeing it sparkle in the sunshine.

    4. Watching several repeats of How Clean Is Your House and thanking my lucky starts my home is no where near like that.

    5. Couple of chats with friends on the phone and a lovely roast chicken dinner has rounded off a pleasing Sunday.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    1) That darn essay is finally (nearly) done. :j (At the cost of a very sore neck again, so I think I'll be off the forum for the rest of the evening. :()

    2) A nice chat on the phone with my DM, including the news that my DSis has been signed off by the psychiatrist as being practically back to her normal self. :j

    3) The multi-colour lamps in my garden - they make me smile every evening despite the fortune they're costing me in rechargeable batteries (they just seem to eat batteries - they need changing every couple days ).

    4) The cheese, leek and potato pie I've made, which uses up LO mash and pastry and will give me enough for dinner and a couple of lunches. Very OS! :money:

    5) The prospect of spending this evening curled up with the next set book for my course and a mug of spiced fruit cordial (bought on special offer but still an expensive treat - I need to bribe myself to read course books :o).

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

What a lovely weekend! Been dry and not too cold all weekend :0)
    1. Big brother came to stay so had a good wander round showing him our new home: also got to see the Alice in Wonderland & Beatrix Potter artwork thats been put up in the park by the library (it may be for the kiddies but I loved it too!)
    2. Cooked a nice roast chicken dinner with trimmings; got plenty of chicken left for a few days dinners + made big bro a chilli chicken wrap for his coach journey home- thrifty & filling
    3. Baked a plum, apple & blackberry pie for dessert; free apples, a few leftover plums from Lidl & blackberries from Tesco using there £5 off fruit & veg promotion! Yum yum yum!
    4. Have baked some apple & cinnamon muffins (replaced walnuts with oats due to allergy!) & apple tea loaf is in the oven- warming the apartment & food for packed lunches for the week. Also the aplles were from a colleague with a glut of them so free food too- bonus!
    5. This ones a little naughty- boyfs work laptop isn't working (shame!) so Im getting snuggles on the sofa whilst watching Grease- I love Sunday evenings!
    First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!

    Good evening all !

CCP- do you have a hot or cold pack for your neck? Well done on almost finishing your essay - you round off the concluding paragraph, you are now well into the final furlong to be faced with.. ....referencing .YUK:rotfl:

    5 for today

    1. Three croissants in bed (sounds like the start of a Tommy Cooper joke).

    2. Made mhagsters lemonade scones - except I used diet lemonade and lower fat cream (rtc) . My Mum and OH liked them .

3.Washing dried on the line - it was a beautiful day here.

4.My favourite episode of Grand Designs was on featuring the Lutyens water tower . The owners seemed like a lovely couple .

    5. Venison for tea , roast potatoes, leeks in cheese sauce and the usual veg. Very nice.

Have a good evening all x
