  • Millie2008 YUM! Any chance of divulging the recipe for your mums special orange pastry? Pretty please... And just let the nasty comment about weight wash over you. My "ideal" size is about a 14...needless to say havent been a 10 since I was about, er, 10 years old! I bet you look gorgeous just as you are

Aww thank you  I will dig out the recipe and post it on here :D

Mine for yeterday and today (so far..)

    1. Went out to meet an old friend last night who I hadn't seen for 12!!!! years, god we were both so young and carefree back them, but got on like a house on fire even after all these years. Fab!
    2. Oldie had another of her mad half hours last night, bucking and pinging around---so glad I don't have to cling on, on top any more when she does that  Think she is feeling well :D
    3. Did a bit more xmas shopping today and got a couple of bargains
    4. Going to make some jewellery for pressies tonight and some for Mum to give to people too. Need to make some cards too as people complain if I don't hand make their xmas cards :)
    5. Chill out tonight with OH and a bottle of Rioja. Dad is cooking. And I am not on pony duties til tomorrow afternoon, so can lie in beyond 6.30 in the morning. Huzzah

    Evening all.

sparrer - I've never come across that breed of dog before and had to google it - smiley-love008.gif. I can quite see why his fur takes so long to dry, though - there's a lot of fur there!

VJsmum - you're right, there does seem to be a bit of a university theme around here, doesn't there? I admit that I'm one of those 'orrible administrators that some academics have such a problem with - although I'm sure that you're the type of academic that realises we do have our uses! ;)

    1) A very long lie-in this morning - I woke up early and decided to try for another hour's sleep, which actually turned into another four hours' sleep. :o

    2) Finally managed to crack on with my essay - I've only got another 400 words or so to go now. (Chickenopolis - honestly, I'm not usually this lazy with essays - I'm just finding this course seriously hard going :(:o)

    3) A spicy beef stew that's simmering away in the oven and smelling quite wonderful, and which uses up a bottle of beer that I've had sitting around for months (it was a prize in a pub quiz) waiting for me to make a stew.

    4) Putting the BM on - I never get tired of its magic. :)

    5) Chopping up and freezing the last of the HG tomatoes for use over the next few months.

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Good evening all !

sparrer -I hope that things are better for you today ((hugs))

purplekitten-sorry to hear that you are poorly xx Get well this instant!! ((hugs))

CCP - re the essay - I did a Bsc Hons in Social Policy ( which is why I am a boring old far*)with the OU as needed to "learn and earn" . Each time an essay was due I would find something other than getting on with the essay to do - such as tidying cupboards...Then the adrenaline would kick in (OH would leave the house for the day , as I was stressy and vile-I just ate crisps and swore alot!!) and I would just bang it out in one painful hit. Would never suggest that you were lazy - I know how it feels , when the subject matter is "testing" . Well done btw :)

Frith -Well done on finishing the application form:T Good luck !

    5 for today

    1. Went into town with my Mum and one of my sisters . A
always nice to see her as she is the "nicer" version of me:rotfl:

    2. Used £20 of advantage points in B**** to buy the 3 for 2 gifts for Christmas presents. Got vouchers for those who have requested these and have only two people to buy for now :)

    3. The nicest thing I have seen for ages - a car with a labrador in the back was parked next to us. The owner came back and got in the car and the dog was so overjoyed that its owner was back that it was licking the mans head ( bald patch) and face and the man was laughing his head off, stroking the dog. He clearly loved the dog, their attachment was clear . It made my tummy go funny :D

    4. Cleared out the hen run out and replaced the old bark chippings with new ones. It took ages as I can't physically do too much in one go, but looks much better.

    5. Fake away ( nuttybabe where are you?) tea of home made potato wedges and home made chicken goujons in a spicy breadcrumb coating . Yum

Have a good evening all x

I love and really appreciate our administrators, they work so hard and do an amazing job, despite being forever short-staffed. And they put up with dippy lecturers like me, who forget everything :D And I feed them chocolate brownies to show my appreciation :)

Fab!! I bought 8yo as a yearling and her ex-owner used to walk her out in hand and this was so beneficial when I started to do groundwork with her myself and when she was first ridden out. On her first hack, we met a pony and trap and a llama and she did the horse version of a *tut* Mind you, she has a panic attack when a leaf blows past, so not sure what goes through her orange mind sometimes :)

Sorry Chickenopolis - I think my comment didn't quite come across how I intended. :o I didn't mean for a moment to imply that you were saying I was lazy - I just am being very lazy with this essay. :o I will finish it tomorrow - honest! ;)

Millie - you sound like you'd be great to work with - I can put up with any amount of dippiness in exchange for cake. ;):)

:rotfl: I am with you on the "orange mind" bit- two of mine were orange - One was very unhinged !! Rewinding my life to 1988 - one of my favourite "hacks" was a chubby cheeked yearling colt . He used to plod up to gates and let me open them for the rest of the string to rush neurotically through . I took him up to the gallops on his own and he just wandered in to the starting stalls without any drama. He was more afraid of people lurking in bushes who had got off of the footpath to let us by . I had to ask a lurking person to say something in order for the colt to walk past - he said "errr .....hello" to the colt who then scooted past :rotfl:

I have no problem with administrators (well most of them ;)) it's the management i have trouble with :D

    Mine for today

    1. Beautiful blue skies and sunshine with a bit of heat in.
    2. Walking along sea front - i love the sea and live about as far away from it as you can in this country so a visit to dad also means a visit to the sea
    3. Seeing someone take their ferret for a walk along the sea front - made me smile
    4. Curry night and wine with dad
    5. Buying the trousers i wanted from Fat Face which had £18 off in the sale and i used a £10 voucher, which brought them down to a reasonable price.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Oldie is a chestnut mare and I swore to everyone I'd never have another...but 7 years ago, oldie was v ill and I ended up buying what I now recognise as a *new* oldie (orange, welshie, mare, blaze, attitude), Seven years on, oldie is still with us and I now have two of the damn things

Agh, don't get me started on the millions of managers we have and tbh, I am not sure what most of them actually do!! That's not intended to sound sarcastic, it's just that they have these fancy titles that don't really explain what their role is

Millie - you sound like you'd be great to work with - I can put up with any amount of dippiness in exchange for cake. ;):)

Welllll, if you ever fancy relocating to B'ham, we could do with some more (damn good) administrators :D. Payment in choc brownies and wine.. :) xx
  • Evening all. I had a brill day catching up with a good friend. We:

    1. Did the local charity shop round where I got a good book, a nice coaster for my tea at work and 3 tops

    2. Had a lovely lunch at her house of hm tattie and leek soup and bread, and hm cupcakes and scones.

    3. Went for a walk round her village - lovely autumnal day and very beautiful pink tinged sky

    4. Spoke about her business that she plans to start up - very exciting!

    5. I also managed to buy a small mat for the back door that we were needing for our dirty cats coming in from the cat flap....for 50p. Love a bargain me :D
