  • Evening all! No post from me yesterday as I had a poo day :( T*sser man at work said..and I quote..."wow, you've piled some weight on" :( I hadn't seen him for over a year and yes, I have put weight on due to medication. I am now off the meds, but only losing the weight slowly. To say it floored me a bit would be an understatement :(

To keep it all in perspective though, I've gone up from a size 6 to a size 10, so I'm not big by most standards (except catwalk standards ;) ), but I am slightly built and have always been tiny, so it is obvious - and I have put a lot of weight on my face, so it is more obvious :( Today I feel a bit better and determined to lose just enough weight to get back into some of my clothes.

    Mine for today...
    1. Day off :D and spent it with OH :D
    2. Managed to get goddaughter's xmas pressie at a bargain price
    3. Got the cutest ever pic of my rabbit this morning, poking his little head over the nesting box part of his chicken run...he is so adorable :)
    4. ....struggling to think of any more...normal service will be resumed ASAP

Hugs to anyone in need xx
  • Good luck to those searching for jobs. It's hard going - I've been there and know it's practically a full-time job applying for jobs in itself.
I've had a pretty poor day so it's hard for me to pick 5! Here goes!
    1. Fish van Tuesdays so HM mackerel fishcakes for tea
    2. Watched Frozen Planet recorded from last week. Probably the best programme ever made ever?
    3. Finished my book which took me ages to read but was worth it!
    4. Still very mild here so that's got to be good. I must admit I'm secretly looking forward to the snow though!
    5. Listened to a cd while cleaning today and remembered what a great album it is!

There, that wasn't too bad! Hugs to everyone x

Welcome Gintot, lucky you having your OH home on Mondays, every weekend being a long one :)
(((Hugs))) Purple kitten. What a thoughtful DH you have :)
Ginger Snap I pop into Mr M on a Weds evening on my way out, usually 7.15'ish, they close at 8pm here so are just doing the last marking down. Other than that I just look whenever I'm there. Once or twice I've been fortunate and seen a sa there so have asked if anything is being marked down more. They don't always but some ask what I want and reduce it further for me. I used to be too nervous to ask but now I think if it doesn't sell it's going to be thrown out so I might as well have it
    Good luck job hunters :)

    1. Got a book I'd been waiting for from the library
    2. Postie brought me some restaurant vouchers in exchange for T4sco vouchers
    3. Lunch out with a friend, 3 courses for £7.95 - we managed all three :o
    4. Got a paypal payment for doing a survey
    5. No heating on this evening as it was so mild out and warm in the house

    Sweet dreams
    S

eta (((Millie ))) what a very rude little man! Easy to think after the event but next time you see him you should say 'I can lose weight but you're stuck with your bad attitude'. And you're a much nicer person that he is x

Millie, Wow what a dope a size 10 big, seriously yeah right, I’m not worried to say that I always average out at about a size 16.

CCP: So glad you are feeling a bit better, was it a migraine type thing?

Chickenopolis: .. Pondering changing my name PPPK? Visions of me taking the cats for a walk has me crying with laughter, I tried to put a collar on Jake our Bengal, he laid on the floor as if he had been mortally wounded for ages, I do wonder if he would have stayed there for weeks.

KittenKirst:- So glad your interview went well, good luck for the feedback.

Ninnoodle:- I'm not sure whereabouts you live but it's a whole 4 degrees outside, if it was a red sky I would suspect it was going to snow, it's a bit of a chill over in Kent tonight.

Thank you all for cheering me up also :)

By the way, does anyone know is there a three letter acronym list anywhere, as I’m not sure on some of them like DD etc?

I live in Aberdeenshire so normally a fair bet it will be colder! :rotfl:But it's still mild!

I have a hard time with some of the acronyms too. I think DD and DS are darling daughter and darling son etc. DH, DGS etc.
  • Wonder if anyone on this thread remembers me? Caterina will, if she's still here. I was a regular poster until October 2010 when the joys of overseas travel (done frugally of course :D) claimed me!

    My five for today:

    1. The cold that seemed to be threatening me  appears to be on the run and I feel much better.

    2. Completing another chapter of my novel - 14 chapters and 40,000 words done so far. :T

    3. Yummy lentil and mushroom curry tonight - made enough for tomorrow too.

    4. Finding some great free password software - sad, I know, but I'm a computer geek...:o

    5. Getting Virgin Media to admit that they hadn't given me the new customer introductory discount to which I was entitled and getting it sorted. I'm about £50 better off for that :j.
Life is not a dress rehearsal.

    Hi savingforoz
Indeed there are quite a few of us who will remember you, in fact was thinking of you not so long ago and wondering how/where you are these days.

It sounds from your post (Virgin Media, the £ sign etc) that you're back in Blighty? if so I hope the boss kept his word and you were able to go back to your job? Are you back in your own house? I hope the tenants looked after it for you.

Caterina still posts occasionally but as always she has a busy life so not as often as previously.

Well done on the 14 chapters, that's a tremendous achievement :). Keep on posting, need to hear more of your travels please! S x

    Thanks Sparrer :j
The DH/DS makes sense now, darlings not a word I use so I guessed it would mean daughter, or son etc but I couldn't work the D bit out.

All the others make sense, but the IYSWIM - if you see what I mean, and IYKWIM - if you know what I mean, wouldn't that just be easier to type :rotfl: God I sound old, pass me my slippers!:rotfl:

Hiya, Savingforoz  - of course I remember you. Like Sparrer I'd love to hear about your travels.

Am keeping fingers crossed for all the job applications and interview results for those of you who are waiting.

    My five for Tuesday:

    1. Bought a chocolate bar and added it to my secret tin of things to cheer me up for when I feel totally miserable. My moods are roller-coastering at the the moment so I thought I might as well plan for the down bits! So far I have one unopened DVD (bought on a very cheap offer) that I've been wanting to watch, a £10 note for a guilt free spend on something treatsy and the chocolate. I reckon that's a really good start. I'm planning on adding other small bits and pieces when I can get them free, or cheap, or as presents.

    2. Seeing my parents this evening. They were on good form.

    3. Collected the copper posser (vintage washing dolly) from them that one of my grandmothers used about 100 yrs ago to do the family washing. An elderly relative's house is being cleared and and I only wanted to inherit this posser from all their stuff.

    4. Unexpectedly finding sharon fruit in today's veg box. DS2 and I tried one and it was really nice to share a new discovery with him - neither of us had tasted sharon fruit before and it was lovely.

    5. This is a pleasure about to happen but snuggling up in bed cuddling my first hot water bottle of the winter.

    Off to make it now...

    Sleep well.

    B x
