CCP: really hope your head feels better today. OUch!
Sparrer and Purple Kitten: what time do you find it best to go hunting for food RTC bargains please?
Gintotmelinda welcome to what is a lovely, lovely thread!
Thanks for all the kind, take-it-steady-wishes. I promise to be careful!
My five for yesterday and today:
1. Lovely friend picked me up and took me to a country pub for lunch. It was on the cotswold escarpment with beautiful (if misty) views. I had fishcakes, hollandaise sauce, home made chips and salad. All delicious. I resisted a pud but had a coffee and mints instead. My friend and I had a brilliant natter, before we knew it nearly three hours had passed!
2. I taught myself how to cast on with the help of youtube videos. When I was younger my mum used to do this for me, so I felt very clever indeed! I have started to knit a sort of sampler scarf, trying out all the stitches I can think of. Am enjoying it very much.:D
3. Cooking a slow cooker caribbean chicken today, smells gorgeous and makes me feel nicely domesticated.
4. Had an appointment at the breast clinic today. They want me to take arimadex (like tamoxifen for post menopausal women) to block any oestrogen that might cause future cancers so I got a prescription for those. The good thing was they examined me and found nothing nasty, and my recent breast scan was clear. Phew! :j
5. Felt well enough to potter around supermarket this morning with OH pushing the trolley for me. Didnt overdo it though as can get tired so fast. It was a pleasure to be out of the house though.0 -
Good evening all !

5 for today
1 . Cleared up an issue with the my Team Manager that I was not going to take the rap for.I would have done if I had caused the issue
2. Site visit all day - the Service Provider was not happy with the honest and factual feedback that I gave them . But they say they strive for continuous improvement ....I just love my job:D
3. Home at 4.30pm
4. Kashmiri chicken and rice for tea cooked by OH
5. Hot water bottle and cup of tea waiting for me when I got in
Have a good evening all !:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Wow there are a lot of "cat" people kittikins, purple (pied piper) kitten, and now your good self:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all.
Chickenopolis - strictly speaking, I fall into the 'cat' group as well, as the first 'c' in my username stands for Cat.
1) Everyone's get well wishes seem to have done the trick as I spent the whole of today without taking a single painkiller. :j (Although I've just done some work on my essay which has left my neck feeling rather sore, so I hope I haven't damaged things again. :undecided)
2) Went out to buy the smart new furry boots I've been saving up my survey vouchers for but, after wearing them for a couple of minutes in the shop, I realised that they might be smart but they were also unbearably uncomfortable.I then found another pair which were much more comfortable and less than half the price, so I can use the excess vouchers to replace one of my pairs of work trousers which have developed a hole in the knee. :money:
3) Cuddles with the mog when I got home: one good thing about chilly weather is that he suddenly turns into a lap-cat.
4) Made a BBQ flavour lasagne using some BBQ sauce which I found lurking in the back of the cupboard. The lid had gone a touch mouldy but the sauce inside seemed to be OK: if you don't hear from me again then you'll know I was wrong.
5) I'm now going to go and watch the course-related documentary I was meant to watch yesterday and didn't get round to.
Have a pleasant evening, all, and hugs to those who need them.Back after a very long break!0 -
Evening all - my 5 for today before i go and do an hour of chores
1. walking to the station and thinking i was late for the train but it arrived on the platform as i did and i got straight on it
2. coffee and a bit*h about the boss with colleague
3. good exam board and my students got the best results of all:T
4. OH being on my train as it pulled in so we went home together
5. my first slow cooked "roast" chicken turning out successfully so that we had a full roast dinner very shortly after getting in (with cheating frozen roasties that were actually very passable)I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Chickenopolis; I should find out Thursday but Like I said, I don't think I've got the role but the interview went positively and has given me a real confidence boost for those situations :0)
CCP: good news about the lack of pain :-)First home- Oct’16 until June’21: £170.995- Overpayments made £13,784 (25% extra!).
New forever home- Sep’21 £309,449 @ 2.05%. Plan to clear it before 30 years!!!!!!0 -
Hugs purplekitten xx
1. DD felt much better this morning after a very horrible night with earache, so was able to go to school. Shame the other ear is hurting now, but thank goodness for kalpol!
2. My internet connection at home, which wasn't working this morning, came back to life this afternoon, yippee!!
3. Good card games with DD before Rainbows
4. A friend gave me a massive bag of clothes she's slimmed out of, mainly cardigans - perfect
5. DD and I made scrumptious fairy cakes this afternoon, just need to resist them tonight!0 -
5 or so for today (Tues).
1) Waking up with MrB after a rather lovely evening/night. Also waking up at a better time because he had set the hour wrong on the alarm clock on his phone! He had a bit of a rush, though.
2) Because I got up with MrB (as it wasn't the crack of dawn) I was quite early so we got ready for school in a far more leisurely fashion than normal.
3) The builders came round (who replastered my living room during the summer) and admitted they had probably nailed through the storage heater circuit so they are going to fix it for me. I dreaded having a fight on my hands to get it repaired by them but they were very good about it and will come again next week.
4) Went for a very long walk. Stopped at my old house on the way, where I lived until I was about 4. It's a semi-detached cottage, miles from anywhere and the neighbours in the other side still live there. So I popped in to have a cup of tea with them. I had picked some mushrooms on my walk so they had those from me.
5) Sister came round with a big bag of clothes from one of her colleagues that will fit bigger son. Some lovely clothes in there including some waterproof trousers with fleecy lining which will be ideal for sledging.
6) Both ladies I emailed to ask for references (for the job application) have replied and said yes!
7) Looking forward to Holby City in a minute, a glass of blackberry gin and hopefully on online chat with MrB later on.
8) Boys not settling at all so I've got a cup of tea and will go in and read some Harry Potter to them.
All in all, a good day, after 3 weeks of feeling pretty grim....0 -
Yay, glad you're back "up" Frith
Your day sounds lovely, and Holby was good tonight, just watched it
