1) DD is home for the weekend, an enormous pleasure to have a full house once again.
2) Home made brunch of bacon, tortilla, tomatoes, beans and toast, followed by grapes and greek yoghurt.
3) Cross stitching away at a sampler book mark that will make a nice present for someone.
4) Watching Hugh on 4od. One of his sandwich recipes will come in handy tomorrow.
5) Out tonight to celebrate DD's birthday. Not MSE I suppost but we will be going to our favourite curry place which charges a set price for the meal, so we'll know what we're letting ourselves in for.
Have a peaceful weekend.0 -
Evening all!
My 5 today:
1. Beautiful autumnal day here in Aberdeenshire
2. OH and me cycled to a nearby castle, and then a walk in the woods and then cycled back. Lovely morning!
3. Stopped for tea and cake on the way! At a very cheap cafe
4. Log fire again because it is Saturday! Very pleasurable.
5. Made an appointment for cheap microchipping for my cat at the local pet shop. £10 and the lady will come to my house, whereas the vet charged a fortune!0 -
Chickenopolis: Well done on the jab. I couldn’t look at the needle, I’m sure the nurses sense the “needle haters”.
Starting having a proper clear out, but seem to be making things worse before hopefully better, I cleared off a window sill thats been cluttered well forever, in a heartbeat my wonderful oh had re cluttered. Ah well. It’s new clutter. A bin liner full of charity stuff, and a lot of rubbish, and stuff being saved like zips etc before being thrown. Stuff moving into the loft, and checking on the sparkly Christmas stuff as we are normally away it will be nice to decorate
Made some coffee and walnut cupcakes, I can’t stand coffee but in cupcakes it’s lovely
Chirstmas planning, it has to be very frugal and planned out, but I wouldn’t give to others what I wouldn’t want, so I am thinking of chocolates and wine or alikes for most people.
Cleaned up from all the dust moved about and put nice clean bedding on.
Enjoying relaxing in the evening.0 -
Quite a weekend so far!
Friday
1) Plain clothes day at school.
2) Got tidied and ready.
3) Sons had film night at school.
4) MrB and sons came over and stayed overnight.
Saturday
1) MrB's sons were more settled.
2) Went to the pub for a game of pool.
3) Went to a party for smaller son's friend but son wouldn't go in (this is quite normal for him). So bigger son and I spent 20 minutes standing around in the car park waiting to see if he would get out of the car. He wouldn't, but mother of other SEN boy in the class came out of the hall and said she had been having similar problems with him at school and she has various contacts I can speak to (her son actually has a statement).
4) Now got my sons here and bigger son has 3 friends over for a sleepover. All going OK so far.
5) Enjoying watching Strictly in front of the stove, might have some blackberry gin. Doing well at ignoring the excessive small boy noise! 3 x 11 year old, 1 x 10 year old and 1 x 8 year old.0 -

evening all!
Mad day here! Nothing special, just catching up and prep'ing/cooking a 3 course dinner for parents and their friends!
My 5
1. Lie in (by my standards) to 8am! Ponycarer was doing the horses. I then went to the supermarket early, before the crowds. Was quite civilised!
2. Spend most of the day in the kitchen, mooching, baking and cooking. Made brunch (caramalised onion, goats cheese and honey pizza) and roasted squash and red pepper soup, chicken stuffed with boursin and wrapped in parma ham and clafoutis for dinner. All very well received!!
3. Made a birthday cake for two of my favourite people, going to see them tomorrow, can't wait
4. Managed to get the remainder of my marking done. Managed not to be too much of a grammar pedant..not that my posts on here reflect my grammar pedantry!
5.Jaws 2 on TV. So bad, it's good!!0 -
1. Woke to a beautiful morning, had my first cuppa outside (well wrapped up of course)
2. Took a series of photos of what's budding/flowering in the garden and put them on fb - seem to have started a small trend as three friends have followed suit. There's yet more blossom on the apple tree, I'm beginning to wonder if I can make Coxes Christingles!
3. Speaking of the C word, there may only be me here this year so don't have to put up any deccies, which is really just as well as they're in the loft and there's no way I can get them down! I'll manage with cards, candles and a hm front door wreath
4. Passed on some pet bits to another freecycler who was very grateful. Isn't it nice when they say please and thank you?
5. The pub my DD works at has a childrens cancer charity as their charity this year and DGD2 aged 14 did a sponsored silence which if you knew her you'd say was impossible. She raised £250 in 2 hours :T:T:T
Enjoy the rest of the weekend

Evening
Gingersnap - Lovely to see you posting again and hope you are taking care of yourself
Have not posted for the last couple of days as have struggled with normal slepping pattern since back off holiday but seem to be getting there.
Well what can I say about the last week other than absolutley fab. We saw all the things you would expect Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Rockafeller Centre, Central Park, Crysler Building etc....It was like walking round a film set. I resisted the very strong urge to buy a Michael Kors handbag as lovely as it was there was no way I could justify the cost. Instead we went to a discount shop called Century 21 where we spent less than the MK handbag cost and bought me a Guess handbag, DD a Juicy Couture bag and purse, a nine west purse pluse a couple of designer tops for OH all at bargain prices. The bag and purse for DD are going away for christmas. We did bring a few bits back for her but didn't go mad.
We were MSE on a few things - used the coach from the airport to the city and back. The coach station was just around the corner from our hotel so made sense. Plus used the Statten Island ferry to see the statue of liberty and the new york skyline from the water, amazing. I will stop boring you all now but needless to say had a great time.
Pleasures for today,
1. Just had a text off DD to say she is having a good time at a party she is at. I am not really being a panicky parent that my 16 year old DD is at a party looking stunning with boys and alcohol, honest . Yes I do just want to lock her away until she is at least 25 but unfortunetly son't think this is an option.
2. Fakeaway chicken fried rice with curry sauce for dinner washed down with a glass of wine.
3. Lovely lie in this morning feeling more normal today
4. Shopping done in Mr.T stocked up on lots of store cupboard bits to make use of some vouchers.
5. Enjoying a glass of wine
Hugs to all who need them or just want one0 -
