    Evening Ladies!!

I am having to stay at work late this evening as I am meeting my siblings for dinner later on... and I am keeping myself busy otherwise I might be tempted to assault Oxford Street!! Ostensibly we are meeting to celebrate my middle brother's birthday but in reality it is just a ploy for us to meet my youngest brother's new girlfriend (the first in 14 years!)

I really do miss posting on here (thanks for missing me Chicken!) and keep thinking "ooh i must remember to post XYZ"... particularly when I did a reverbe and found £1 the other day!!

    1) Dreadful journey into the London office today but it was nice to be able to sit and relax on the train, knowing my boss would be caught up in the same problem as me (he arrived 2 hours later)

    2) NSD yesterday

    3) Got cracking with the patchwork i am making. I have no idea what I am doing but it looks pretty and err... "rustic".

    4) L came to stay with me on Friday night and we had a lovely evening catching up. On Saturday morning we went to look at a property in the town I want to move to. The house was pokey but we had a good mooch around the neighbourhood and I am so excited to be moving there. The only problem is that both L and I know (different) people who are also looking to move there and have a similar budget.

    5) Getting an email from my friend who will be looking after the kitty while I am away confirming that she is happy to do it. I am putting together a lovely hamper of goodies to say thank you.

    nighty night all...

    L
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
  • Good evening all !

Ladyhawk -Glad to hear that you are O.K ... I do feel a bit sorry for your brothers girlfriend ! I always felt that I was being "inspected" by mothers and sisters of boyfriends ... I felt as if they were going to lift up my top lip and run their hands down my legs like examining a horse :rotfl:some of them were of course lovely , as I am sure your brothers g.f will find out x

sparrer - I did laugh ..if my memory is correct doesn't your mother stay up rather late at night ? I should get some sleep in before Ch*******:)
millie -poor GSD...perhaps you have killer bunnies.

    5 for today

    1. My first "full day" at work, and my back was o.k . Two hot water bottles helped though.

2.Got written confirmation that from today my contracted hours have been reduced to 30 per week from 37. The 7 hours will help part fund another new position in my team and give my body more of a rest :)

    3. The hens had started to put themselves to bed until the "food goddess" (me) came home from work. They then decided to stay up late and hang around in the kitchen .It was quite dark here at 4.30 today.

    4. Flexi day tomorrow.

    5. Received my £5 voucher in the post for Mr. T from a newspaper, I will also use the £5 off of a £40 spend tomorrow , as well as one for De******* .

    Have a good evening all!
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Just a quick 5 for today..

    Tidied the house
Did the weekly shop at Lidl’s for a change, and I love that place, we picked up an over bath dryer, hoping to save on some electric, given the dull weather. I’ve totally fallen for the foot warmers they have there but can’t justify the spend until I get an income.
A nice snuggle from the pud cat.
I made a strange tea as no motivation but it was ok
Preparing for an interview tomorrow, I can't find a fingers crossed icon, but I have everything crossed.

    Evening all.

    1) My leaky bathroom sink has been fixed, after Friday's 'fix' just made things worse.

    2) Some of the sealant from the sink got on to my favourite coat, so I'm very grateful that it's washable.

    3) I didn't really fancy doing any work on my essay tonight but felt I should: sadly the research website I need to use isn't working properly so I had to give up after an hour or so. Darn it. ;)

    4) A nice glass of wine from a bottle I opened over the weekend.

    5) Putting the heating back on this evening - it's been off for the past week or so but I'm feeling rather chilly tonight so I gave in. :o
Back after a very long break!

Lagopus how nice to still be able to sit out for lunch. You certainly did get some exercise stacking all that firewood!
villagelife well done on the free pot of honey, and good for your DS2 at doing a 7-day school week :)
MHags how quickly the weather has turned - in your case for the better, in mine not so. Today was very cold, drizzling, windy - horrid! I was impressed with your multitasking ;)
Ladyhawk good to hear from you, well done on the Reverbe riches. I've no doubt the patchwork will turn out to be perfect, I thought it was supposed to be 'rustic'?
Chicken yes she does stay up late, drinks like a fish and likes everything done her way and in her time. Oh, I'm so looking forward to it :(. Pleased to hear you survived your first day back, albeit with help from the hotties. Needs must :)
Purple kitten I know what you mean about Lidl, but have to stay away as I always spend more than I intended in there. Good luck for the interview, keeping everything x'd it'll go your way
CCP good news about the sink, a job well done. So sorry you were unable to work on your essay, what a blow ;)
VJsmum it's good of your friends to lend the skiing equipment, it'll be a great saving for you :). The walk sounds nice, I think this is the best time of year for walking

    1. Following a thread on the pet forum re an old boy who slipped his lead and ran off at the sound of fireworks (bleddy things ). Not been found yet but it's fantastic how many people are out there looking for him. Really heartwarming to realise how many kind people there are out there
    2. Last pulm exercise class for a month today, we do three months then have to have one off. It was great fun, the class had the physio running round in circles, she prob worked harder than we did!
    3. Called in to see DD for coffee afterwards, got almost licked to death by her Jindo before I was allowed out of the door.
    4. Called into Mr A on the way home, very helpful SA found the right batteries for my radio/cd player, so if there's a power cut during the bad weather I can still listen to the news, etc
    5. Slow cooked a mass of tomato'y/veggie type bol, micro'd a bowl of rotini, now have one meal in the fridge for tomorrow and eight in the freezer

    Sweet dreams

    1. I had a nice restful day spent mainly on the sofa feeling sore after my fall but thankfully less sorry for myself.

    2. DD read me a bedtime story last night when we both went up at 7:30pm!! - Sock Monkey Goes to Hollywood, a great read :)

    3. Very low spend day, spent some LV on desperately needed milk and just 44p extra

    4. Lovely chats with OH on the phone *swoon*

    5. Lovely friend sent her son round with a huge dish of pasta and tomato sauce, leftover from their dinner, nomnomnom. There's enough for today as well :)

    6. Cooked up beans for our favourite bean soup, which we will now have later in the week.

    7. I'm reading a really good library book set in my local big town

    8. DD gave me scrumptious cuddles

    9. A friend popped over with her gorgeous baby girl, so I had a lovely cuddle with her and gave her a bottle, the little cutie :)

    10. I really enjoyed the lesson I help out with on Mondays, got another one today, with a teacher I've not met before.

Hello from Hotsville :( oh, how I struggle in the heat.

Very wet this morning & forecast to have a months rain tomorrow.....yikes! Apparently bad storms last night but either not where we are or I slept through! But oh so hot & humid!

1.Busy ,busy day at work. Was a good day apart from the air-con failing twice :( Finished on time & headed home for a cool shower!

2.DD2 had her free tutor at library this afternoon, however, I've asked her if she would consider private tutoring DD2, so will see what she thinks.

3.We had chips for tea....chip shop is opposite library, cheap & cheerful! However, used up veggies in fridge & fish from freezer for OH. Chopped veggies up finely & baked them with fish...he liked it anyway & another thing out the freezer!

4.Made invites for DD1's birthday celebrations.

5.Good telly night & a whole sofa all to myself :) Watched Susan Boyle singing on Australian X factor (had jsut turned channel at just the right moment!

    Wrap up warm!

Well, things have all been a bit pants although are hopefully on the up now. Boys at their father's for the weekend (which never helps) and I just went to pieces. Lucky MrB :-( Cold, continual rain, storage heaters that are only part fixed (at great cost)...

To top it all off, my sons home/school link worker came this morning and I tried to dispense with her services as my sons are coming on really well. But no, sons' school head teacher has decided that my younger son needs to go back to CAMHS (child mental health service) for his selective mutism. No word to ME that she was referring him there! He has been DISCHARGED - by the autism team, his speech therapist, occupational therapist, by his splendid child psychologist... At parent evening his class teacher says he communicates with her well. For goodness sake. :-(

Anyway, going to find 5 for today if it kills me!

    1) Managed to persaude younger son to wear a coat to school. They don't let him out at playtimes if he won't wear one.

    2) Went to see my dad so he could help with younger son's homework. He has to pretend to be a spy and the school asked for "2 adults" to write him a reference. Well, way to go, school! As I can't conjure another adult out of thin air in this house, dad stood in. (Think I might be a little anti-school today!)

    3) Went into town with my brother and got a few bits from Sainsburys and he got the paint he needed.

    4) Sorted out birthday presents - for a friend of mine and smaller son is going to a joint birthday party on Saturday so presents for 2 friends of his. Hard work choosing presents for 9 year old girls!

    5) Got the fire lit and looking forward to sons coming home justnow.

    6) Holby City later.
