Didn't manage to post yesterday as slept till 6am and then I had to walk my dog before work.
Mine for the past couple of days are
1. Seeing all the different mushrooms in the fields and wishing I knew which ones were edible.
2. DS1 being referred to a physio and being told he should be seen in about 4 weeks which is far quicker than people are seen here.
3. DS2 being sensible and not participating much in his rugby training. He had been told to rest till Saturday so he would be fit to play.
4. Doing a couple of reverbes and finding 46p.
5. Being invited to a firework party.
6. Saving cost of a stamp by hand delivering a letter as I had to drive past building for work.0 -
Hi chaps. It turned out to be a sunny day after all!
1) Managing to get through another chapter of my OU textbook. I didn't like this one at all! Still, perhaps I might have better prospects, in the end.
2) A gift of sourdough starter from a neighbour. Does anyone know if it works with gluten free flour? Will have to do some research but it looks interesting.
3) Just heating the living room with a 'coal' fire. Have avoided switching on the central heating all day.
4) A lovely walk in the sunshine (and enjoying the smell of the country - yuk) with a friend. We went up to the local 'big house', which has been turned into swish apartments for elderly residents, and had a very cheap coffee in the restaurant, which is open to everyone.
5) It's our wedding anniversay tomorrow, so I think we may set off early with some sandwiches and a flask for a long walk around a lake. Hopefully, we will find somewhere fairly inexpensive to eat out afterwards.0 -
Thank you all so much for the kind wishes, we have lots of good memories.
1. We have a fantastic thick very big tarpaulin that we have cut to size and fitted eylets to, it is now covering the sides of the animal run attached to the house it’s about 8 by 12, and animals are not in there overnight, we have also sorted a heated pad for the old cats as they are getting older.
2. The run is completely cleaned out and disinfected so nice and clean at least for a while.
3. Things are looking very positive on the job front, nothing firm yet.
4. About to try and make sweet and sour with rice and bread as a side,
5. Planning a cheap trip out tomorrow.0 -
Evening all! It's chucking it down here. I am glad that I am tucked up nice and warm and dry (as are les animaux)
Not sure I can attempt 5 today, as I have been to a funeral. The service was lovely and I hadn't realised how popular the deceased was, or what good work he had done.
- OH is out tonight, so I can watch some TV rubbish and go to bed and read early
- Stew simmering on the stove for dinner
- I am going out tomorrow with ponycarer, not sure where yet, but we will have a much needed catch up
Hugs to all in need xx0 -
Good evening all!
Sparrer - glad to hear that you liked the book. Its also a handsome looking book that once read, I will give to someone that I know will feel the same about it .
Ladyhawk- well done you for getting through the speech ! Miss your posts , but at least you have a tidy house :rotfl:
5 for today
1. Day Off !
2. Physio appointment first thing this morning and have now been discharged as I am now "fixed".
3. Went out for a pizza at lunchtime with OH using Mr. T vouchers . The waiter forgot to give OH the olives that he ordered , so we got some free doughballs to "make up" for it.
4.A cheeky cat nap- post pizza extravaganza this afternoon, because I can !! (Ladyhawk);)
5. Long chat with my Mum this afternoon and finished off the crossword for her .
Have a lovely weekend all xx:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1. Got a lovely Friday feeling waking up with OH and watching the news cuddled up together
2. Worked from home
3. Picked up a parcel from the post office and had a nice chat with the postie
4. DD was very excited to go and have a sleepover with her favourite 'Aunty' tonightOH is feeling poorlyso we're not going out, which in a way is good as I have lots to do
5. Really enjoyed watching DD's dance lesson this afternoon, she's so graceful and I'm such a proud mummykins!0 -
quick hello! It's early Saturday morning & me & OH are about to head out for very early Saturday scone & shopping as we are heading to the beach with the kayaks today! To be 30o .....yikes!
Fridays:
1.An extra hour in bed as I had a day off!
2.However, did end up going to work as Mum & Aunt wanted to see where I work! Then I thought I was dropping them off at station & having a few hours to myself but that didn't happen & we ended up going for lunch instead & having a wander!
3.Being bought 2 nice bunches of flowers as a Thank you for having them (leaving tomorrow!).....mum was going to go to a florist....NO!! Go to Aldi much cheaper & just as good quality, so they are dotted around the house & looking very nice!
4.Finally getting round to opening bank accounts for kids, the girl in the bank was so nice & helpful & chatty and they get 6% interest!!!
5.barbeque for tea, from contents of freezer (all RTC), all I had to buy was rolls & some salad leaves!
Was growling at my son, who needs to get off his lazy backside & look for a part-time job, had a resume to hand in to Aldi(who are recruiting) & then when we got there wouldn't hand it in! So I am not buying him a phone top up (where we get our internet from) and I'm not doing his washing & ironing till he is a bit more pro-active on the job front! Will see how long I last......!0 -

Oh not too bad, thanks for asking. OH has been an absolute love and commuted to his "away" job but has been here at night. He is currently snoring on the sofa but i can't complain - he's knackered himself so i'm not home alone at night. THo i realise i will have to be - and soon.
For yesterday
1. worked at home - tho didn't get much done
2. my Virgin wines order arrived - half price bargain
3. took DD to look at new 6th form, she didn't like it but at least can make a more informed decision
4. HM soup for dinner and tea - cuts the calories a bit.
5. DS went training officially with new footie team - boys football is so political but it is working out now.
And Today
1. Lots of whoopsies at Mr M
2. OH home for good from his work away
3. Lunch with friends
4. Wearing my bargain but lovely new cardi from the Very sale
5. Finding the cheque a friend gave me that i thought i'd lost.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Evening all.
1) A lie-in this morning as I had a day off work.
2) Received both the parcels I was waiting in for, which means I'm now pretty much stocked up for the winter.
3) Sorted out my home insurance - it's amazing how much the quote can drop if you threaten to go elsewhere.
4) The vet managed to clip mog's claws despite having to wrestle with a hysterical feline to do it.I was hoping to learn to do it myself but the vet strongly advised me to not even try it with such a difficult cat!
5) Watching a nature documentary with the mog this evening - he seemed utterly fascinated by penguins.
Patchwork Quilt - I'm currently struggling through a rather dull OU textbook as well.I've only got one more, very short, chapter to go then I'm on to the next one, which I very much hope will be more interesting. I hope yours is, too.
Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Went shopping this pm, they didn't have what I needed but came home with some C*******s stocking presents for the family.
2. Homb@se had 3 trays of rather sad looking trailing pansies (24 plants in total) in their A&E department, reduced from £9 to £3. I've been fortunate with casualty plants so far, they just need a little nurturing
3. Two very sensible mogs curled up in their beds some 3 hours earlier than usual, not only is it raining but they're not very enthusiastic about the fireworks. No doubt they'll want to go, and stay, out by 11pm!
4. Changed some of the lounge furniture around, gives the room a better perspective and looks a lot neater
5. Looking around my little world and having a tremedous feeling of gratitude for what I have. There's no comparison to the chaotic life I led 7 years ago.
Sleep tight
