Hello!
1.Aaargh! When the alarm clock went off again this morning, not really getting into the swing of early ,early rising .....however, went in to work a bit early, had a chat with my sister & saw 1 hot air balloon on drive in.
2.Oh so busy day at work again! However, finished most promptly for a change and I have my final extra day off tomorrow.
3.Went out for dinner tonight as it's my mum's birthday. One of my colleagues recommended a very nice pizzeria in a nearby town. My aunt paid for both of their meals so that was a bonus!
4.Being asked for advice from a friend from home & thanks to the wonders of internet being able to help straight away
Can't think of number 5! All I've done is work & eat a pizza! Have a great day xx0 -
Sorry for your loss, Purple Kitten
Thanks all for your kind wishes - CCP, the SOCO policeman said not to be surprised if we did see someone riding round on it!, if they did return it to the shop I think the bloke might know it was stolen as it was a small independent. I think i'll ring him and ask him to keep an eye.
Chickenopolis - that would serve them right.
Felt rubbish all day yesterday - cross and then scared again, then "i should have..." being so tired, probably didn't help. Then my tongue ran away with me whilst out with friends and i inadvertantly insulted someone whilst trying to be funny
anyway
1. OH came home instead of staying out overnight.
2. People being so nice about the above (bike, not OH coming home)
3. My "once a year" lecture went very well
4. OUt with the girls for curry and wine - £5.25 all in, so a bargain
5. Kids being very non plussed about theft and certainly not scared.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -

Evening all
it been a great day
1. new bedroom furniture arrived for DS bedroom and it LOVELY I am SO pleased!
2. Just finished a delicious salad with cottage cheese and nuts, scrumptious
3. the yearlings were brought into their stables for a while today, they enjoyed the dry and deep bed and led out each individually really well back to their paddock later. I can see real progress now and its a good feeling. they have a field shelter in the paddock with a deep straw bed if they wish to use it. we have fixed scratch mats to it. they are astro-turf mats screwed [with washers and round headed screws] around the door frame and kicking boards. they are proving to be a great thing and are used .
4. bought a pile of fruit and veg and wholefoods today and filled the landrover diesel tank up. its a great thing to be able to buy these necessities I feel blessed.
5. all the stuff I offered on freecycle has been collected. yippee less clutter.0 -
oldtractor- lucky yearlings
and what a good idea for a scratch mat! Oldie would love one of those!
VJs mum - how are you feeling now? x
Mine for today
1. Car was £30 less that quotedm still expensive, but not as horrific as feared
2. I made soup again- broccoli and stilton, Dad and I had some for lunch and there is lots left for OH to take to work
3. OH was sent off to work with a packed lunch, I WILL stop him from buying carp in the hospital canteen!!
4. Dad took me to do the horses and we sat in the barn, listening to the rain eating vanilla slices and drinking tea. GSD ate about half of mine, I am sure she is only concerned about my shrunken wardrobe and only wants to help. Oldie had fun demolishing a swede and making a racket in doing so
5. Cuddles with ArthurRabbit, he is such a cutie0 -
Good evening all
CCP- I hope you are feeling brighter ? Have the clocks going back affected you ? Re your dream ... I think you must have been watching a few too many episodes of Helicopter Heroes
Oldtractor - lucky yearlings!
Millie- I think that there is nothing nicer than having a mug of tea outside , if you have horses it comes with the territory.
6 for today
1. Restless night due to a snoring man lying next to me. Felt suprisingly bright despite lack of sleep and "intense" day at work.
2. The site visit undertaken at work today is about 2 minutes drive away , so got home early.
3. Beef Ragout cooked for me in the slow cooker by the person who snores loudly and is still doing so, as I type. Nice smells wafting through the house when I got in from work.
4. My Mum brought round some popcorn for me and some rtc spring greens for the hens - they love having a good tear and share on this
5. Day off tomorrow and a flexi day on Tuesday ..so its technically the weekend for me
6. Receiving a book in the post that the snorer purchased for me "The Thrift Book" by India Knight , used and in excellent condition for £2.80 inc delivery. Its a sexy looking hard back - I can't wait to read it .
Have a good evening all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
1) Not only cleaned the house but even did a bit of ironing. How amazing is that?
2) Actually, I ironed because I bought DD some birthday presents and one of them was a beautiful teal blue scarf that I found in the charity shop. I didn't want to wash it and risk ruining the silky finish so I just ironed it.
3) DS's gf came to tea and so I used one of the mini Shepherdess pies I made yesterday. The rest of us had some yellow-sticker belly pork roasted in crab apple jelly and soy sauce. Yum.
4) Went to have a consultation about remaking our Wills this morning. It's Will Aid this month, so you can go and get a simple Will or pair of Wills made for a suggested donation to the charity. It's certainly less than the quote we had last year for remaking them.
5) Went to the gardening club this evening without any cash, which was a good thing. I had enough change to pay my entrance and that was about it.0 -
CCP the clip was amazing
thanks you for the link
Tealady I know you've gone across the pond now, belated wishes for a super time
Ni hao Big Alf. Loved hearing about your school day and how much your 10 enjoyed their introduction to the Rainbow characters. Do keep sharing
Patchwork good for you rescuing the coffee jar, and for putting it to good use. When DM has a glass jar in her waste bin I always take it out, she says I take recycling too far! Ironing and cleaning? You put me to shame today
Mhags belated happy birthday to your Mum
karren sounds like a lovely day doing family things. Enjoy, sadly they go so quickly!
oldtractor you have to love freecycle, makes more space in the house. And in the wardrobe, but mine seems to fill up again amazingly quickly
Millie lucky GSD sharing your slice. Mine had to have to have a cornet when the children had theirs. The broccoli and stilton soup sounds lovely and warming, just right for an Autumn day
Chicken enjoy the book, it's an interesting and very useful read. Even this old dog was taught a trick or two from it
1. Woke to a bright morning, none of the forecast rain
2. Raked leaves. There's something really satisfying about a pile of crisp autumn coloured leaves - before the gust of wind gets it, of course
3. Postie brought me a sample of perfume. Have just about enough now to put in all the ladies C*******s cards as a little extra gift
4. nsd/npd
5. The rain came this afternoon so I didn't have to water. Can't believe how much is still in flower thanks to the mild Autumn so far
Sweet dreams

Hi All,
Just popping in... I really should be doing some work but am lacking inspiration.
I haven't had a chance to catch up on everyone's pleasures... suffice to say hugs to those who need them, congratulations to those who deserve them and commiserations to those who are having a rough time at the moment.
1) Clean flat - its amazing how much more time I have when I don't have access to a computer at home!
2) Booked accommodation for the first night of my holiday - its in a hostel but it looks lovely and gets 5 stars on Trip Advisor (did anyone watch Attack of the Trip Advisors this week - hilarious!)
3) Enjoying reading my book
4) Some yummy samples of fruit from one of my suppliers
5) Lovely lunch and dinner on Wednesday at a work event. I had to get up and do a quick speech (only a couple of minutes) before the lunch which was very nerve wracking as the previous speakers were very eloquent (3 politicians, a very senior Cambridge professor, the Sustainablity Director for Mr A) but I managed to get through it without letting on how nervous I was. Phew!
So that's it from me...
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Yay, it's Friday! Yesterday's pleasures
1. Received luncheon vouchers for doing a survey - bit miffed though that they're now only paying £3 rather than the £4 I've been enjoying for years, but what the heck, £3 for a few minutes online isn't to be sniffed at
2. Bought YS 'takeout' for tonight's dinner when DD is at a sleepover with her favourite 'aunty'
3. Good chat with a friend at work
4. Scrumptious dinner at my course and lovely chats
5. Was given a very interesting book
6. Sold a book on Amazon, yay0
