    Evening

    Pleasures for today,
    1. Phoned Mr.T customer services this morning and complained about an overcharge yesterday that the customer service lady was being awkward about refunding, like it was my fault  but the nice man is sending me a voucher for £6
    2. New credit card arrived in time for holiday which is just as well as OH's card has been used fraudulently and had to be cancelled. We have both had our cards used in this way in the last week very annoying:mad:
    3. Productive lunch time getting jobs sorted before the off on Thursday
    4. Perfect timing for the bus as I came out of work, just crossed the road and got on. Home in minutes.
    5. Lovely family dinner out at Ask using Mr.T vouchers. Our local was closed for a refurb so went to another one nearby and was much nicer. All ate lots of lovely food and bill only came to £10 to cover the drinks :money:

Hugs to all who need them

    1. - 5.
I had written, but have deleted everything. Today is an anniversary of something no-one should experience and because of a changed situation, it feels as vivid as the day I learned what X1 had done. First hospital thing demain, otherwise I would have made self scarce, as usual at this time. Second one next week and must apparently stay nearby between both. Hope to be fit for Fair on 20th[must be] and will be trying to leap-think to the day following that, when it's over and this period has passed.

Won't post till then, but for one pm which still needs a couple of refs checked, holes filled[ykwim].

Blessings to you all, with warmth, light and contentment, very sincerely, till next time.

VJsmum I'll let you into my secret about remembering who said what, I bring the page up twice then I can switch back and forth between reading and typing ;)
Purple kitten I'm so sorry to hear about your neighbour, hoping tomorrow (today) brings better news
oldtractor what an amazing coincindence, I too bought a bunch of chrysanths in glorious autumn colour today for £1.74 - maybe there was one less flower head than yours - and they're now in a glass, but not crystal, vase in my lounge :)
ampersand wishing you well, I empathise and hope you will keep posting. A little of ones usual routine during tough times can be a touch of stability.

    1. Got a line of washing dry, it was a mild day and just a little breezy. Just right
    2. Monday's pulm exercise class, always a pleasure. Thank you NHS
    3. Lunch out with DD and DGD2, a super village pub and 3 sensibly sized courses for £8.
    4. Stopped at the farm shop on the way home, stocked up on cat/dog food. Everything I bought was on offer, £58 worth for £36. I now have enough for 3 months so even if the weather is bad the pets won't starve :D
    5. Enjoying reading some folks preps for an ice age winter. I really shouldn't smile as I'm old enought to have had many of these things in place for years, or discounted as a waste of money or panicking, I'm sure I did much the same many moons ago. Meanwhile the weather remains mild for now.....;)

    Sleep well

Ampersand - hugs, take care of yourself, and know that we're thinking of you xx

    Yesterday's goodies:

    1. NSD - wow, been a long time since one of those!

    2. Cuddles and chats with OH, it was so lovely to have him round for a sleepover again :)

    3. My parents came down to look at what we hoped was the dream house - sadly not to be as the stairlift took up most of the space on the stairs, which were rather steep and unbannistered, so I won't be adding to the sealed bid process for buying it. It was good though as it has confirmed that I need a bungalow rather than a house with a stairlift.

    4. Lots of compliments on my made it up as I went along dinner for parents and DD. It was blooming lovely, even if I say so myself ;)

    5. DD had great fun handing out sweeties to trick or treaters. Everyone respected the 'pumpkin rule' and once our sweets were exhausted, we brought the pumpkin in and didn't have a single knock on the door after that :) I could hear compliments on us having a QS tin with real chocolate in rather than sweeties, wonder if I've raised the bar on goodies for my road, lol!

    6. Brought OH over for another sleepover :) He's coming to the hospital with me today, yay.

    7. Have told my parents not to buy a certain VEGetarian cookbook as one of them will be receiving it for chrimbo or birthday ;) Part of yesterday's dinner was leftovers from recipes contained therein :)

    Hugs to Purple Kitten.

Hope you are OK, Ampersand, and come back soon.

Here are my 5 or so for yesterday (Monday).

    1) Boys off to school happily after half term. They have a bike training thing (like cycling proficiency) over the next 2 weeks and their father turned up to school with their bikes (we don't have any here). I didn't know if he would. AND... I gave him letters about 2 school trips on "his" days (when he picks them up) and he has paid for them! That's the first thing he has paid for in nearly 7 years. Perhaps he's ill...?

    2) Got the house clean and tidy.

    3) Went to Sainsburys with my mum.

    4) Went for a quick walk in the late afternoon, in the rain and gloom.

    5) Brother came round for Halloween and some Mario Kart playing with my sons.

    6) Decorated the house (or at least lit the lanterns) for sons coming back from their father's after tea and we made some gingerbread men which they decorated with icing "blood".

    7) MrB came round. :-) He was very quiet but sons were quite excitable and took hours to settle (and smaller son up in the night with a nightmare) so I didn't get chance to ask him why.

    8) Made this for tea for me and MrB. http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1982/onepot-lentil-chicken

Annoyingly I have woken up with a cold but will probably feel better after a cup of tea. Got as far as boiling the kettle!

Hugs to Purple Kitten and Ampersand and anyone else who would like one. Which i think includes me as i had a crap nights sleep - woke up every hour with one nightmare on top of another. Don't think it was so much halloween, as work and home stresses (shameless tarting for hugs there!) So feeling a little under the weather today and was going out somewhere quiet with my marking but i am staying home and will do as much as i can here.

    Mine for yesterday

    1. Catching up with friend after her holiday
    2. Ploughing through the work and crossing another couple of things off
    3. Only one Trick or Treater - i am a halloween Ebenezer
    4. listening to lots of music i haven't heard in a while, whilst working
    5. DD bursting into laughter when i collected her from swimming club because i was sat in the car, in the dark , knitting whilst i waited for her.

    Have a good day everyone.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Hi Ladies,

Just popping in to say hi

ampersand - sorry that this is such a rough time of year for you. Hope you are doing as ok as you can be.

My internet at home is officially down and won't be sorted until just before Christmas. It is strangely liberating not having the lure of the computer each night.

A couple of highlights from the last few days

    1) 9 mile walk over the chilterns... gorgeous views of the changing leaves. Stopped to picked some sloes and also picked up some windfall apples that a nice family had left out.

    2) making sloe gin

    3) making more mincemeat

    4) Making another yummy hummingbird cake which everyone is raving about.

    5) managed to get to November without putting on the heating. I might start putting it on in the mornings this week

I'll pop back when I can...

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
