5 or so for today (Saturday).

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Cooked breakfast.

    3) The Guardian.

    4) Went into town to buy bike helmets for the boys' Bikeability courses at school starting on Monday.

    5) School friend here for tea and has just left.

Feel a bit disorientated now as I didn't know how late it had got so have missed MrB and our usual last thing at night chat.

    Kittikins - sounds good.

Keep remembering about the clocks then forgetting again!

Wow, congratulations Kittikins! We've sold in 2 days, but 2 viewers? Amazing!
Ladyhawk I'm quite envious. A friend has just come back from a visit to her family and now you're off to visit yours. When my fellowship has a convention I'll be there too - one day! Have an incredible time
VJsmum well done your DS for goalie of the week, I know how important it is to them to be recognised

    1. Cleaned the kitchen cupboards inside and out, on top of and under, kicks boards, tiles, even polished the handles. Looks as good as new, which it is of course, having only been installed in Mar/April
    2. Changed the bedding, cleaned the bedroom - looks like I've got my wind back after Thursdays adventures :)
    3. Sat out and had brunch in the sun. Hope it won't be the last time this year
    4. nsd/npd
    5. Super evening sitting with DNeighbours 12 y/o DD and her friend who was there for a sleep-over - painted with glitter paint, made spookies to hang up for Hallowe'en, had a tad too much ice cream and hot chocolate that was good for before bed and generally found everything very amusing without knowing why. Of course everything was calm and peaceful when Mum came home

    Sleep well

    Morning Campers!

Unforunately my body clock does not register extra hour, so got up at 5am! :( (Making the most of cheap ellectricity to do washing and drying :)).

    Kittykins - Wow!

CCP - LOL! at the thought of the Grand Prix being interupted by the sound of drumming. We shall watch together!

mhagster - Have you thought about making laundry 'Gloop'? I make 2 big 8 litre buckets every 6 weeks and it costs me less than £2. I do a lot of washing .

    5 for yesterday

    1. DD is home for another dance workshop.

    2. More coupon shopping. Tee Hee :money:

    3. Cleared a shelf of 'Tut' in the kitchen, and now have a home for the iron. (Now what to do with the kitchen table full of stuff I can't part with........just in case!).

    4. Evening out at local Arts Centre with DH and DS2 to watch DS2's dance company. Excellent performances by all the youngsters. Probably fewer evenings like this in the future......I feel very sad that the Govt has had to remove all the funding for these groups. DD was very lucky to have the opportunities she had. DS2 will not be so lucky. :(

    5. I have repaired DS2's PE bag. It has his school name on it and only needs to to another 2 terms, so did not want to buy another one! I love my trusty old sewing machine :).

Enjoy your extra hour folks! HE x

Not a MS day generally but some pleasures.

    1. Went to watch rugby - Harlequins and DS1 came. 3 of the 4 tickets were reduced as student or under 21.

    2. Did a reverbe for 1p.

    3. Went to MIL and did some shopping for her and managed to avert an arguement by suddenly deciding we had to leave. The pleasure was having a meal at a golf club near by.

    4. Being driven by DS2 he has improved so much since passing his test he is now far more aware of other road users.

    5. Making sandwiches for the trip to watch the rugby.

Kittikins glad you had a better day yesterday

Mhagster - you have just broken my dream which was about a koala - bizarre

An extra hour today and i will need it.

    for yesterday

    1. FInally finished my conference paper that has to be in tomorrow. 156 pages reduced to 10 with a line to spare - and it makes sense. Unfortunately I won't get to go to Cape Town to deliver it :(
    2. DD made delicious chocolate coca cola cake - just had some for breakfast :o
    3. Friends came for dinner - we don't see them enough and they are lovely
    4. So lovely that they have asked DD to come and stay for a weekend in the New Year. She is thrilled - one is her godfather and she adores him and his partner (male) and his mother who is an adopted 3rd granny for her. She has always boasted of her gay godfather and his boyfriend and i'm so glad that they love her too.
    5. DS came back from staying with his mate for a sleepover

Another busy day in the VJsmum's household. More work for me and a whole host of homework for V and J
I wanna be in the room where it happens

first one of the day -

    1. set all the clocks before I went to bed last night then set the mobile phone alarm for 8am. It's now 11am and I've been up for 4 hours. The OS pleasure is it did make me laugh, couldn't understand at first how I'd had my shower, dressed and made the bed in no time at all! Numpty, as DS would say :rotfl:

    More to follow...
  • Never mind Sparrer, this is the first time I haven't arrived at church an hour early in years!

    1) A lazy day yesterday, doing nothing at all.
    2) Still getting washing dried on the line.
    3) Bunged a frozen chicken in the oven with some boiling water before I went out this morning and was able to have a roast chicken dinner when I came back, plus stock, of course, for risotto.
    4) A bag of organic French walnuts from MIL. I do like the Autumn.
    5) DH and I have been invited round for Scrabble this evening by some friends who are also trying to save money.

    Afternoon all!!

I am back after an amazing couple of days away with OH. The weekend was neither OS nor MSE on the whole as we spent an absolute fortune, but it was well worth it- the hotel was stunning (Brockencote hall if anyone fancies a nosy), lovely atmosphere and amazing room and the food was to die for! I am soooooo tired now

    1. Lovely day in Cheltenham yesterday mooching around the shops
    2. Then onto the hotel for a snooze before dinner. And a glass of "complementary"- ha! sherry that they'd left in our room *hic* and a shower with the Molten brown stuff in the bathroom
    3. Amazing meal- such fantastic tastes, too much wine consumed, cheese trolley to die for, then coffee and petit four in the conservatory
    4. Slept v late this morning (for me), got up and had a spa bath, then yummy breccie and waved a sad goodbye
    5. Trip to Hobbycraft and OH bought me a mini cupcake maker that I'd been hankering after, I bought me some beads
    6. In need of a walk to burn off the weekend's excesses, so we headed for Pershore and walked along by the river and across the wetlands, otter spotting (didn't see any)
    7. Huge pot of gunpowder green tea in a cafe
    8. Home to excited doggy, so [STRIKE]she took me [/STRIKE] I took her for a walk in the woods
    9. Butternut squash, red lentil and roasted red pepper soup simmering in the kitchen for a light dinner (much needed). Packed lunches ready for tomorrow
    10. Watching Kirstie's handmade thingy on the TV now, early PJs and early night methinks, back to reality tomorrow!!

    Evening

Villagelife - So sorry to hear of your loss, thoughts are with you and your family

Sparrer - I too love irregular choice shoes and would love the lottery win to buy all the one I like :D

Millie - sounds like you had an amazing weekend

Kittikins - Well done on the speedy house sale and I hope you find your dream house soon

Pleasures for the last couple of days:
    1. Catching up with my SIL and niece and nephew we don't see them enough now since DB1 passed away
    2. My niece looked stunning in her wedding dress and yes I did shed a little tear.
    3. Lovely family get together at the reception and nice food
    4. Late night sausage sandwich in the hotel after a long day
    5. DB2 making me cry by raising his glass to DB1. It was nice that he wasn't forgotton but several of us did shed a tear
    6. Nice hotel room but was bizarre to be staying there as I worked there over 20 years ago . Place hadn't changed too much but the flat I used to rent is now hotel rooms
    7. Lovely breakfast on Saturday morning but made all the more special as most of my family were sat at most of the tables in the restaurant so lots of banter. The breakfast was nice but my dad cooked us a much nicer breakfast the day before. He does the best breakfasts ever.
    8. Slept so well last night back in my own bed
    9. Roast chicken now in the oven cooking for dinner

Hugs to all who need them
  • Good evening all !

millie - Your mini break sounds wonderful !! Glad to hear that you have been pampered after your unpleasant bout of shingles x

kittikins -fingers crossed re the house x

ampersand - "rat"atouille is not on the menu tonight is it?? A bit too OS for my tastes ;)

    Definately NOT 5 for today

    1. Croissants in bed ... then became violently sick which continued until this afternoon :( As I have had cervical laminectomies any sort of jarring results in whiplash in my neck. I didn't know which hurt more my neck or my tummy . OH was great although why do they always want to hold a conversation when you are being sick??? A "chat" was the last thing on my mind:rotfl:

    2. After sleeping off a high temperature I was fine by about 1pm . OH kindly went out and got me a "light" banana custard yoghurt which I fancied.

    3. Took advantage of being in my "sick bed" to do an online grocery shop - I stuck to the list I had written as it is easy to get sidetracked by 60 different types of toilet roll .Spent "enough" to get the 5p of a litre of fuel .

    4. Downton Abbey re run this afternoon as I fell asleep during last Sunday Nights episode.

    5. Cup of Bovril and a few crackers instead of the roast dinner that I had planned for myself, OH and my Mum. Never mind, I can make one tomorrow -as my stomach is now nailed to my backbone a large calorific roast will remedy this :rotfl:

Have a good evening all !
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
