5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2

Good evening all !
ladyhawk-re your snooze button - perhaps we are twins :rotfl:
kittikins-I hope that you had a better day today?
sparrer- I usually manage to do a reverbe outside of Tes** Express .
5 for today
1. Had my hair cut . I no longer resemble a Dulux dog .
2. Raked up some of the maple leaves in the garden . My garden is covered in leaves and feathers as both are "moulting". It took me hours as I did it slowly and carefully due to my weak back. I love being outside at this time of year
3.OH had a word with a neighbour who has recently moved in who has had acrid bonfires all day and everyday for a week ( except when it rained). Most of us have had washing out and it stinks . Neighbour took this well - and got loads put out and dried without being smoked. When we have a fire ( twice every ten years) it is at night and we check with the neighbours in case they have any washing out. Courtesy costs nothing.
4. Moroccan chicken cooked in slow cooker with cous cous and pitta bread. All rtc items . very nice indeed
5. Got a mini statement from cash machine and my salary has gone in already .
Have a good evening all -Don't forget the clocks !!!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -

Evening all.
Kittikins - your DD sounds like an absolute star (or angel - :A). I'm so glad you're on the road to getting things sorted out with OH, and that's great news about your house. :j
1) A lie-in this morning, until the noise from the Great South Run got too irritating and forced me to get up (one year I'm going to storm down there and confiscate their drums, I swear ).
2) My favourite breakfast - RTC smoked salmon on HM granary bread.
3) Got my freebies from my Waitr0se loyalty card - a roll of rather smart Xmas wrapping paper and a pack of sweets which can go towards my GM's Xmas present.
4) The lady on the till had a cough, so the person in the queue in front of me offered her a sweet from the packet she was buying. :A
5) Made some filo pastry parcels to use up some feta I got on BOGOF a few weeks ago. I had my usual irritating fight with the filo pastry but I got there in the end, and now have three tasty-looking parcels cooling on the side. (And a nicely swept kitchen floor from tidying up all the bits of pastry that scattered themselves as far as the doorway.)
Have a lovely evening, all, and I apologise in advance for coming on tomorrow muttering about the noise of the drums while I'm trying to watch a grand prix.
ETA - THANK YOU CHICKENOPOLIS - I had indeed forgotten about the clocks.Back after a very long break!0 -
1. Brilliant day today ,spent mostly outside with friends and sporting activities.
2. Delicious HM fish supper
3. The yearlings are all fluffy and cuddly and great to groom.
4. the fencing is finished, just a gate to do now in the bottom paddock so its all starting to look very good.
5. Log burner lit and looking forward to a romantic evening.0 -
1. A very busy shattering day running the animal event. It was lovely and I think people enjoyed it, we covered the hall hire fee so can’t be bad.
2. . We really wanted a takeaway, but we didn't cave, looked at the cash and thought of the bill it can pay next week, so we have an asda pie cooking through in the oven and some oven chips/
3. Looking forward to a bath / passing out
That’s it for today as it’s been so busy.
Kittikins: So glad you were able to talk it over and a massive congrats on the house sale.0 -
Evening all,
Amerpsand - thanks for the literary recommendations
Kittikins - glad to hear that you have sorted things with OH. And congratulations on the swift sale of the house. Have you got somewhere to move to??
Chicken - I have such a funny of image of what you look like (dulux dog?) based on what you have mentioned in your posts - I am sure you look nothing like my imaginings but ifs fun to wonder anyhow.
Sparrer - I am going home for nearly a month.... woohoo!
1) Lovely day today - went to visit my DB, FSIL (will be SIL in 3 weeks and 3 days) and my gorgeous nephew. He is nearly 7 months and is about to start crawling and had just learnt how to clap.
2) NSD - though I might pop out just now to buy some suet and lemons to make more mince meat
3) My DB took us all out for lunch at Pizza xpress. nom nom nom...
4) The hummingbird cake I made for them went down very well. nom nom nom... I am really pleased that I had to leave it with them otherwise I would have scoffed the lot!
5) Came home and had a snooze (Chicken - do you have one this afternoon?)
Nighty night

Ladyhawk- my flaxen forelock has been snipped enough to enable me to see where I am going ! Re the snooze - well I couldn't possibly say .....x

Well, there are currently 2 properties that look very interesting to me, and I'm hoping to view the best of the 2 on Monday afternoon with DD and possibly my parents will come down as well, if I can get an appointment - it has obviously been lived in by a disabled person, so whilst I'm not disabled and hope that my operations soon and in the future will go well, it really could be the forever until I'm very decrepit house as it has certain modifications in place! There's no chain so yup, if all went amazingly well, I could be there sooner than I think, after all today has been a whirlwind!!!0

From yesterday to today, the great pendulum swings back to many positives, for which BIIIIIIIIIG Yumpteroonies!
Kittikins - you head this list: how could you not? It's blazing, wonderful news - ON ALL FRONTS.:j
CCP - yes, yes, yes to smoked salmon on [h/m] grainy bread/toast, with champagne. The perfect brekkie.
Ladyhawk - you're going back for a month? It's the ideal curtain-down on the missed job.
1. Just checked[AND remembered to copy what I'd already typed first]and see Martin's petition is only 545 away from Debate becoming a reality.
2. Another lovely day for the early bus to town - pheasants, a muntjac racing down the old railway cutting, noting re-thatching progress on 2 houses in my week of bus-rides. Quick money w/d, minimal shop[almost stuck to list - couldn't leave last pumpkin and 8 limes from market, all for £1]and back again in perfect time for no. 4
3. Pair of lock-down crates, special deal: less than half normal price for one. Decided not to use the old ones.
4. Pest control Dave brought the 20kg sack of Deadline just before 11, inspected back field, sheds and gave layout/baiting advice. Also said 'If you even THINK you see any sign after a week, just call me'. Then, in a confidential whisper, 'This stuff is the dog's b*l**cks but they don't suffer as with xxx, they just die' and it wasn't offensive at all. Immediately divided it between new crates, took one to neighbour[we joked about her interesting early b'day pressie:D], then set my baits. I feel relieved and guiltless, although I am aware of some innate dichotomy, given I am Rat in Chinese astrology:o.
6. Garrison Keillor is back on R4Extra and I think I will now watch Wallander - just started - from bed, with bits of Grauniad reading.
Nighty-night all - and Martin needs only 515 more siggies now:DCAP[UK]for FREE EXPERT DEBT &BUDGET HELP:

Kittikins!!! wow! send me your Estate agent pronto!! Well done on selling your house so quickly! Our last house was sold very quickly & we bought our current house before it even went on the market but unfortunately my home town has a house selling slump! Great News!!
Now Sunday morning, was intending on having a lie in but nah! Everyone else had a very busy day & very late night so I will just enjoy the solitude for a while!
So for Saturday:
1.My very kind husband took his MIL & AIL out for the day on a road trip, they were away for 13 hours, so he does indeed deserve some long service medal for doing that! I got up & made them lentil soup & egg Mayo, they bought rolls to fill them. They had a lovely day out, saw stunning scenery & lots of koalas.
2.So with no husband to hand , DD2 & I set off with the shopping bags! We had a Saturday scone, newspapers & a chit chat!
3.Shopping, reasonable prices ,bought a rug, that I'd had my eye on for 1/2 price in Aldi. I did this before & then forget I only have a small car, but we managed to squeeze it in! Got bag of fruit & veg for $3.00. I managed to get more (to add to stockpile!) wash powder & fabric conditioner whilst it's on 1/2 price offer. I have a very well stocked laundry room!
4.Came home, hung out more washing, ironed & started tidy up for Hallowe'en Party. Then had a wee rest mid afternoon as I was getting hot & bothered, wee lie down with my kindle!
5. I have had a Halloween party every year for past 14 years (apart from last year as we had just arrived in Oz...but we had a tea!), so 17 kids arrived in the sunshine and all had a good time! Halloween is not a big thing over here ,although there is plenty stuff to buy in shops. Most of these kids have never dressed up for H'ween or been to a H'ween party.....so pleased to have increased their life experiences Scottish style!!
Have a good weekend!!0
