    Afternoon Chaps!

    Ampersand and Sparrer
    - I am very envious of your trip to Cambridge. It sounds like you had a lovely day.

    Ampersand - @rchers @narchists! LOL! :rotfl:I have to join!!!!!

    5 so far...

    1. My entertainment for the week has been 'Extreme Couponing'. :rotfl:Got this mornings shopping in Mr T from £52 down to £27 with help from The Sun and Daily Mail coupons and various others. Also managed to get some feebie rice in Mr M. (Useful for DD at Uni). It is very time consuming, but has been top moneysaving! :money:

    2. Washing drying on the line.

    3. Admiring my clean bathroom, and sparkling living room windows.

    4. DS2 telling me all about his day at dance workshop. They had a trip into town for a Chinese meal to celebrate the end of the course. He was even more excited about paying for it himself with the £10 note I had given him. (He doesn't usually have more than £1 to spend!).

    5. DH seems to have restored my little laptop back to normal after the Security Sphere 2012 malware infection. He is an :A

Ladyhawk - I thought you would like to know that I used the quote from your sig in a careers lesson on 'planning' with my 6th formers recently. It was an excellent starter. Thanks :T

Hope you all have a great day. HE x

5 for today so far... (Friday)

    1) Bit of a lie in.

    2) Good tidy before the boys get back - hoovering, cleaned fridge freezer out, bathroom etc.

    3) Brought a big pile of logs in (4 more queen wasps!)

    4) Sainsburys

    5) Popped to mum and dad's.

    6) Just about to have cous cous and meatballs for tea.

    7) Sons back at 6.30 - hoorah.

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Villagelife.

Sorry to hear your news, Villagelife

    My five for today

    1. Got up at 6.30 to make pea and ham soup for OH to take to work. Parentals also had some for their lunch and there is enough for tomorrow too!
    2. Did a birthday cake for friend's gorgeous little boy :) Well, not so little now- he's 8!!
    3. Ironed my winter clothes and put my summer ones away *sob* Winter clothes have shrunk in storage..strange that!!
    4. Dad helped me with the ponies - we turned oldie out naked on the nice grass for a roll and a munch, then sat with a cup of tea in the sunshine watching her graze. She's like a fluffy teddy bear now that she's got her winter coat. She's now tucked her up in her stable with a nice thick bed and haynet half the size of her
    5. Night away tomorrow *woop* with OH in a nice hotel. Nice hotel is only about 15 min drive from where we live, so I have announced that we are going out for the day, maybe to Cheltenham, then straight to the hotel, so it feels more like a weekend away :D The food is amazing there, so diet is postponed until Monday...

Hugs to all in need xx

    Evening all.

Millie - I love it when horses / ponies get their winter coats. My parents' horse always looks like he's coated in velvet - except when he's coated in mud, that is. ;) Have a lovely weekend away.

sparrer and ampersand - it sounds like you both had a really nice day. :)

villagelife - I'm so sorry to hear your news - hugs to you and your family.

    Pleasures for today:

    1) A work colleague was chatting to me normally again - I snapped at her the other day which I regretted and apologised for immediately, but it's taken her a while to forgive me. :o

    2) Chatting to a lovely lady on the till when I did my supermarket shop this evening - I love it when you get friendly service. :T

    3) I used my new loyalty card for the first time and found it gives you 1p off your shopping - OK, it's not much, but it's something!

    4) I was a bad CCP and did another Approved Food order. :o It's all stuff I need, though - except the Twiglets. And the mini Cheddars. :o

    5) Having a lazy evening - no studying, dinner from the freezer, and a glass or two of wine.

    Have a lovely evening, all.
Back after a very long break!

Glad it was of use. It comes from a Harlan Corben series about a detective called Myron Bollitar. I am an athiest but I still like the spirit of the quote!

It is always so depressing to put away your summer clothes. It even more depressing when you find that your winter clothes have shrunk. Hope you enjoy your dirty weekend away!

Villagelife - sorry to hear about your loss. Well done on being so strong fo your husband

Sparrer/Ampersand - wow - what a day out. Glad you ladies had fun.

I have been very naughty today and worked from home and did not achieve much - except have an afternoon nap, registering with a new GP and a second hospital appointment - nothing obvious that is causing my abdminal discomfort but they ran some test anyway. I was a difficult patient today and refuced to bleed for the nurse. She tried 4 different spots with no luck.

    1) Little lie in
    2) Wonderful NHS
    3) Popped into the library and chose some new books. I am not overly inspired by my choice but I am hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
    4) New bedding on the bed.... I am going to have a bath this evening and will shave my legs for extra silkiness
    5) Will be baking a cake shortly to take with me to my DB and FSIL tomorrow.

nighty night all. Hope you have a great weekend. I think my broadband will be coming to the end of its contract over the next couple of days so I might be a little sporadic until I get back from my holiday.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

Now Saturday morning (5.30am!) but here are Friday's:

1.Little lie in till 7am as I had a day off work. Gave kids a lift to school & then came home & enjoyed a croissant (that had been lurking in the freezer) and home made jam.

2.Was very warm & awfully windy so washing dried very quickly, we went into next town & had a very succesful trip to supermarket sized op-shop! I got new to me shorts, cropped jeans, a gorgeous skirt,a long top/shortish dress and some lovely wee things for baby that my mum will take home with her. Also bought a painting of flowers for the frame! Gave my mum the painting & framed up a picture I'd bought whilst home.

3.Treated to a very yummy lunch! Was most nice but absolutely stuffed!

4.Went home via Salvos & came away with 2 new tops, a gorgeous white linen dress and 3 nice dip dishes.

5.Made cupcakes for Halloween party (tonight), rocky road, meringues, chocolate sponge and hoping my tablet (fudge like sweet) will have set. It was very hot & humid yesterday afternoon....not ideal for baking, I was very hot & bothered!

6.Nice chat with my friend from home.

So all in all a very nice day off!
Villagelife: kind thought sbeing sent your way, take care.
Ampersand & Sparrer: sounds like a fab day out for you both!
Kittikins: good luck with your house selling! We are still up for sale 19 months on & 2 price reductions :( .......however had an email this morning to say we have a viewer next week!

Have a great weekend everyone! x
  • Good evening all !

villagelife- sorry for your loss ((hugs))

millie-funny you should mention hairy horses , as at the races yesterday it was weird to see that some horses were just getting their winter coats whilst others still had their amazing shiny summer coats -btw enjoy your weekend away !

ampersand and sparrer- how lovely to hear of your adventure together .

oldtractor - I love your posts as they involve being outside and make me feel strangely "peaceful" .

house elf - well done you on your cost cutting ventures it's making me feel very inspired -and I noticed that you have added a chicken bit to your sig. ! x

    5 for today

    1. Banked another bag of 50p's to add another £10 to my brothers 50th birthday fund which is in several years time :rotfl:

    2. My sister who works at Mr. S had, at my request purchased some of the half price toys for me (no NOT for me personally !!) for Christmas presents for the youngsters in my family .She said that the queues were half way around the outside of the building

    3. Had a "power nap" at around 3pm - this time of day is fatal for me due to an inbuilt snooze button from when I worked split shifts in the racing industry . The history of this was that after evening stables I then had enough energy to go out in the evening with boys:rotfl:

    4. Did 20 miles on my exercise bike .

    5. "Found" some new jeans in my chest of drawers that I must have been too fat to ever wear. They now fit !

Have a good weekend all x
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

    Have had a funny/rubbish day :):(

    1. Spent a fortune on a real treat for me in a makeup shop....lovely and apparently I look beautiful but oops to the credit card bill

2, DD and I went for a lovely lunch and a mooch around Brighton with friend and her children :)

    3. Friend drove, thus saving my dodgy leg which I managed to bash twice this morning!

    4. DD has apparently got lots of secret ideas for my birthday, shame I've got 6 months to wait!!

    5. Sitting at my friend's house, she's keeping my spirits up!

    6. My viewing(s) for today were cancelled (the agents confused me, I only had one for today which had to be cancelled due to illness) but I have 3 for tomorrow!!

Feeling insecure about OH today :( He didn't realise how hurt I got about something when I was at his earlier today, and I don't want to talk about it on text, as after all he doesn't know (a) that I'm feeling rubbish or (b) why.........*sigh* Just want to cry and kick and curl up into a little ball....but then I'd spoil my new makeup, and if he is mucking me around, I shouldn't let him have the satisfaction of getting to me - I'm 40 and fabulous (well, will be, whatever happens with him! After all, I only need DD in my life, everyone else can go to heck if they're going to hurt me)
