My 5 for today so far...

    1. Seeing my best friend for the first time in a couple of weeks and both of us getting a much needed hug.

    2. Getting a £5.29 voucher off Asda. :j

    3. Receiving 3 MOC - including free Hovis - and another free mini photobook of our wedding pics from Lidl.

    4. The smell of coconut biscuits and chocolate muffins wafting through the house on a rainy day.

    5. Listening to my DH snoring whilst having an afternoon nap...he sounds like a little piggy snuffling for truffles! :rotfl:

Hello all, can I join in please?

Have been in a right grump for most of this week so this thread is just what I need to cheer myself up... well, that's the theory!

    1. Had a good talk with OH and things are much better now. Managed to explain what was getting to me without it ending in a row (v unusual for us!) Am hoping this loved-up again stage continues lol.
    2. Got a £1.62 @sda voucher, and the porridge OH loves was on special.
    3. Am determined to blitz through the housework tonight, leaving the weekend free to do some baking.
    4. Have bought my first christmas present.
    5. Have got tickets for a fashion show where they sell end of line items at really good prices. Went to one last year and got some really lovely stuff. Am hoping for a few bargains as absolutely desperate for work trousers. If nothing else, it will be a cheap night out for me and my sis.

Well... that really has helped me feel better!

    Evening all,

    An early posting from me...

Welcome Tea lover - I hope you find this a friendly and supportive thread - I certainly do!

I am feeling a lot happier today after my disappointments earlier this week.

    1) Early start to ice the cake for my lovely colleague P's leaving present. She is always so friendly, happy and calm that I will definitely miss her. Unfortunately I had to leave the office before the cake was cut but I received some lovely emails from people saying how much they enjoyed it.

    2) Left the office at lunch time so that I could make it back in time for my hospital appointment... except I got the time wrong and was an hour early! oops!

    3) The doctor was nice and has given me a new cream for my skin so hopefully I will stop looking like a spotty teenager sometime soon!

    4) Sorted out the problem I was having with one of my suppliers. I think we have come up with a win win solution which is always good. I did have to be a complete b-itch to get them to understand how seriously I viewed the issue.

    5) Invited myself round to visit my DB, FSIL and gorgeous nephew. Nice to have a chat with my DB as well.

    6) Still managed to not turn on the heating... only 4 days to go!!! Though if it gets much chillier then I will be giving in.

My grump of the day is.... £4 to park at the hospital!!! It has nearly double since I was last there about 6 months ago!

Anyway hope you all have a wonderful evening.

    L

  • Good evening all !

house elf- Lol at Mr. house elf , they are addictive !

millie -ah .. but if you had a falabella foal it would fit in your shoe box:D

tea lover -welcome ! Two "tea l's" will baffle my tiny chicken brain

    5 for today

    1. Went to the races for the day with OH and nephew using Mr. T vouchers . The entry to the race course would have been about £44 .

    2. Nephew has never been racing and did not know what to expect . He had his first bet on the first race and won (put £2 on to win). He said that he thought the whole day was amazing. He is very much like me and I expect he will "re run" the whole day through his mind tomorrow.

    3. We stayed to watch five races and I picked two winners and a second( OH lost all day) Putting £1 or so on at a time:rotfl:It was raining quite a lot but thankfully it was not windy.

    4. Had some cash left over so had a cheeky chinese take away :)

    5. Day off tomorrow !

have a good evening all x
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

Evening all and a special hello to Tealover :)

Not such a great day here- went to work, shouldn't have gone to work, ended up feeling worse. Apparently colleague's husband had shingles and took 4 months  to get better. Also ze punto failed its MOT in style...£300 to get put right, thank goodness for Mr HMRC's generosity yesterday :rotfl:

Came home and went to bed for an hour

    Mine for today

    1. I was welcomed back to work by my lovely colleagues, but they told me I shouldn't have been there- I think they were being nice in saying that :rotfl:

    2. I took some more of my jewellery in for one of my colleagues as she is having a charity coffee morning on Sunday (belated Macmillan one) and is going to try to sell some. Excellent cause, esp as said colleague is a cancer survivor, twice. Amazing lady!

    3. Met my mum (briefly) after work and we went for a bite to eat, also courtesy of Mr HMRC

    4. Lovely OH went to pick my car up from the garage as I was feeling rough

    5. Struggling with a fifth....errrm lovely texts from my Mum #2 :A

    Bead shopping on line now...oops!
  • 1) Paid in some small cheques at the bank and got good service from my local branch of B@rclays, who reopened the door for me and gave me 'thirty seconds' to get it sorted out.
    2) Some eyebrow tweezers (where do they all go?) and other bits from B@@ts for free on my points card.
    3) Used an ancient book token that I found kicking around in the paperwork pile to buy The Great Allotment Cookbook. I'd borrowed it from the library before but never thought I would get one.
    4) Dinner came from the freezer or the allotment.
    5) A recipe for lentil curry from a friend. We are trying it tomorrow when DS's gf is over for tea, along with the in-laws.

    Have a peaceful evening

    Evening all.

    1) One of my favourite songs from my teenage years came on the radio as I was driving to work this morning.

    2) Finally got to have The Meeting with my manager and it was a lot more productive than I had expected. The team admin assistant will become my admin assistant (which is a bit nerve-wracking as it will be my first experience of managing another person ) and my manager is going to work on improving our (mine and her) working relationship - I nearly said something about it helping if she turned up to meetings, but decided that would be petty. :o

    3) Another delicious lunch from the local sandwich shop - if I can't be organised enough to make my own lunch, having HM food from someone else's kitchen is the next best thing, I feel.

    4) I stayed slightly late at work to finish something I was working on: it was only an extra half hour but the mog greeted me as if he thought I'd abandoned him.

    5) Received my free book, which I've put away so I can't be tempted to read it instead of studying my OU books.

Have a nice evening, all, and welcome to tea lover.
Back after a very long break!

A dead give-away of my age, sadly - The Day We Caught The Train by Ocean Colour Scene.

Oh-oh, la la, oh-oh-oh la la....

(Don't worry if you haven't got the faintest idea what I'm on about there! ;))
