    1. I had a letter in the post this morning from HMRC, apparently they owe me 2.9k!!!!! from overpayments between 2006-2008. I can't quite believe this- keep thinking it's a dream and I am going to wake up in a minute. I am one of the unluckiest people on the planet and honestly thought it was going to be an underpayment on my part. I had to phone OH and read the form to him 3x down the phone to check I had read it correctly. OH was jumping around the office, i was dancing (gingerly) around the house. And good timing as we are away on Sat for a [STRIKE]dirty[/STRIKE] civilised night in a hotel. He was meant to be treating me, looks like the other way around now!

    hello all

    1. having my hard working husband thoroughly appreciate the lamb hotpot I cooked for his dinner.

    2. The 14yo decided what he wants for his birthday in november. He wants a lord of the rings PS2 game, and I have my orders to get second hand only since it's a lot cheaper and works just the same. I love my kids <3

    3. thanking my lucky stars that I inherited a lot of wool blankets. I needed them last night on the sofa since OH was snoring :rotfl: I can't complain though, he's working many hours at the moment and was plain exhausted.

    4. Sheer amusement at watching the two eldest prepare dinner for the four children. A very simple meal but they did wonderfully, even if I did worry they would lose fingers the way they were cutting that veg up  It's funny that they also seem to be truly amazed that what they just made is actually really tasty - although not as good as mums cooking they said :o

    5. Seeing my daughters brain ticking over as she made a card out of odds and ends that she found....then proceeded to make (actually quite stylish) dresses for her dolls out of coloured paper, coloured sellotape and rubber bands. She really has a knack for creating things from nothing.

    6. and the final one....having my 8 year old grab a teatowel and help with the dishes, with no prompting whatsoever.

    Life is good :)
Proud to be dealing with my debts :T

Don't throw away food challenge started 30/10/11 £4.45 wasted.

Hmm, struggling to think of pleasures today, I had a call from the hospital asking me to go in and meet the anaesthetist, not sure if that's because they want to tell me how risky my op will be due to some health issues raised in my appointment with the nurse on Monday or, probably more likely, due to my BMI, or if its routine for GA etc etc......

    Anyway, positive head on:

    1. 'worked' from home, basically had nowt to do....

    2. Man came round to do the floor plan of the house, a snip at £45 (not)!!

    3. Nice chats with DD, my parents and OH on separate phone calls

    4. My leg's not hurt much today

    5. Got rid of 2 bags of old paperwork, I really didn't need to hold on to bank statements from 1998, so one bag for shredding and the other has been emptied into my recycling bin. Phew!

Well now that you mention it, friend is selling a stunning foal. I was thinking how I could hatch a plan to buy her and hide her from OH, but hiding a pair of shoes is one thing, a foal could be trickier, damnit!! :D

Ooooh Chickenopolis, would that be the P or the B place? I've been to the B but not the P races before. Have a brilliant time around my neck of the woods :)

Ok, life is starting to feel a bit better thanks to a glass of wine whilst my dinner is cooking.

ARGH.... some people that I work with are so very annoying! Stupid people who don't read my email that I send over 2 weeks ago and then complain that it is not what they wanted and do they need to escalate it to the Dvivisional Director... err... if they had been clear about what they wanted in the first place then there wouldn't be a mad rush at the last minute for information. Where is a brick wall/ head interface smiley when you need one??

So let me see if I can come up with 5 pleasures for today.

    1) Went to the movies for Orange Weds with a couple of collegues/ friends. I bought snacks from MrA as well so it wasn't too expensive. The movie was dreadful but it was a nice evening out.

    2) The hospital called this afternoon to tell me that they have a spare dermatology appointment for tomorrow :j When I spoke to them yesterday they said that the next appt would be in December. Result!

    3) Was up at 6am and baked a cake for tomorrow - a colleague is leaving. Unfortunately now that I have the doctors appointment I won't be able to make the leaving drinks

    4) I was in a foul mood all morning but by 3.30pm I had chilled slightly after receiving the most rediculous emails from one of my suppliers. Seriously he should not try to back me into a corner... I don't appreciate it and I can be very mean when I want to. But it enabled me to have a rant and I felt a lot better as a result.

Hmmm.... not going to get to 5 tonight...

Have a good night everyone... sleep well

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.
