  • Ladyhawk and Firth:- Hugs to you both

Thank you so much for the support. I have applied for another real role today that is with a competitor of the place I used to work for. I'm hoping they will be interested in the very similar experience. I did so many job applications today it's silly. And I am biting the bullet and having to apply for JSA, what a rigmarole I shall continue with the application tomorrow.

1 Enjoying the sound of the rain
2 Enjoying making sausage and mash with home made onion gravey
3 Mr PK being wonderfully supportive
4 The moggy sitting beside me.
5 A shot of liminello liquer - a gift given to us as a thank you which seems very nice, but I can't manage to much of it, very sweet stuff.
  • 1) Got some study done today. Even though it was a late finish, I've completed a whole section.
    2) Spoke to both my brothers this evening. DH and I have been invited over to see the new kitten and have a meal with my younger brother and his wife.
    3) Home-grown baked potatoes with tuna or beans and home-grown salad. The cucumber was another one of those 'found in the garden' vegetables but it was sweet and crispy, so why not?
    4) The gilet. I may have mentioned it before. SIL gave it to DD, who left it at home when she went to Uni, so I have appropriated it. Fleece on one side and luxurious fake fur on the other. Very good for those times when I am pottering around and trying not to put the heating on.
    5) Coffee and cake at a friend's house. Her husband is a coeliac, so she had some gf banana cake in, which was lovely.

Morning all - continuing my good resolution

    1. Last nights party on another thread - an absolute scream, but if i told anyone at work that i went to a virtual party, they'd have me certified! :rotfl:
    2. Going to a training course at my old place of work, I never thought i would miss it and it was good to be back for a couple of hours.
    3. Having a laugh with some colleagues at said training course - which was a load of tosh. THe upshot was - this is what the new system is and if you fiddle about with it, it will do pretty much what you want.
    4. Taking the plunge in a new business venture to build up the pension fund.
    5. Driving home from work - i don't drive much now and i enjoyed it (and i don't even like driving much!), but i could put music on full blast - it's that i miss.

Have a good day all - I have a virtual hangover :rotfl:
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hello, internet wasn't behaving itself yesterday and wouldn't let me on!

So pleasures of Tuesday & Wednesday.

Receiving an email from a friend I thought I'd lost contact with as she had been away when we moved last year , however, she got me through a friend of a friend! So was lovely to hear her news.

    2 sunny days!

2 ducks & their fabulous 10 babies, they really make my day when I see them out for their walk or swim!

busy at work.....good to laugh !

Interesting School Council meeting last night.

New car battery ....so need to panic each time I approach the car....willing it to start!

Good phone calls with friends from home.

Hot water problem sorted out by landlord!

DD2 went to her future secondary school to start a course after school today....doing Kitchen Chemistry & made a bath bomb!

Speaking to my sister who had a BIG birthday yesterday! Wish I was there but we did have a early celebration when home!

Think that's me....bedtime now & only one more day at work tomorrow, then off for a long weekend whilst visitors are here!

    Morning

    Pleasures for yesterday:
    1. My baby turned 16:eek: but liked her presents plus got some very expensive ones off DSIL which I am too tight to buy.£28 for a vest top in Jack Wills  I don't think so.
    2. Helping the inlaws move, nice to be able to help out.
    3. Big family dinner out, the Ask vouchers I had ordered from Mr.T didn't turn up in time so went to a local pizza pasta restaurant which was very nice and didn't cost too much. Now have lots of meals out at Ask to look forward to, can feel a girly lunch coming on.
    4. Credit card company being very efficient and realising someone was using my card fraudulently. Have cancelled card and a new one is being shipped out to me asap, thankfully they didn't get to spend too much on the card and it will be refunded to my account.
    5. US dollars arrived for our holiday next week and managed to get a good exchange rate thanks to MSE :money:

Hugs to all who need them
  • Morning all!

I am still lurgified (bah) but feeling a bit better today, so Dad is going to take me to see the hosses later- first time since Saturday- yay :)

My five for this past couple of days

    1. I had a letter in the post this morning from HMRC, apparently they owe me 2.9k!!!!! from overpayments between 2006-2008. I can't quite believe this- keep thinking it's a dream and I am going to wake up in a minute. I am one of the unluckiest people on the planet and honestly thought it was going to be an underpayment on my part. I had to phone OH and read the form to him 3x down the phone to check I had read it correctly. OH was jumping around the office, i was dancing (gingerly) around the house. And good timing as we are away on Sat for a [STRIKE]dirty[/STRIKE] civilised night in a hotel. He was meant to be treating me, looks like the other way around now!

    2. Then opened the next letter and it was one of the cheques : party:

    3. Lovely colleagues are covering things at work for me

    4. Dad bought me some flowers and some of my fave millionaires shortbread yesterday from the farm shop. Just had some shortbread with a cuppa tea. bliss

    5. Being as I am feeling a bit more human, I am doing a couple of bitty things at home to catch up (boring filing, etc). Think I will pop into work tomorrow as I am climbing the walls here!

    6. Planning a little surprise for a lovely family, based upon #1 :A

    Hello Peeps!

MIA for ages, as I can't seem to keep up with everything when I am at work. (Also, been lurking on other threads.... printing off money off coupons... which takes up loads of time, but is saving us lots of pennies at the moment :money:). Hope you are all keeping well. :)

5 for the last few days.

    1. Monday, drove down to London with DS2 to visit DD at Uni. We stopped off at Chessington (Nectar points), on the way and had a fun filled day on the rides. Saved the best ride 'till last. We got to sit at the front on 'Vampire' in the DARK!!!

    2. Took DD to Nandos. (Free chicken voucher). Caught up on her gossip. Tried very hard not to dissapprove of her study v social life balance! :rotfl:(Ha what a hypocrite!).

    3. Stayed on campus in guest rooms. Very nice. DD and DS2 wanted to move in! Will definitely do this again. Not as cheap as Travelodge, but the nice Security man let me have a pass to park on campus for free, so DS2 and I went into London to do the museums next day.

    4. DS2 and I were very proud that we got around London by ourselves without DH who is the authority on London! :p 2 museums and Harrods! DS2 is really good company. I will be sad when he turns into a monstrous teenager.

    5. Busy doing housewifely things today. Saved £10 off the shopping using coupons, made parsnip soup for lunch, and planted some pots with cyclamen for the front step. (This is cheating, but I have a lot to catch up on!).:D

Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshine.

Have a lovely day. HE x
