Evening all :)

Rubbish day today - we found out that our lovely neighbour died last night :( I am so sad for his wife
And I am still lurgified and OH is working til late

Will try for five

1. I made some yummy soup earlier- thai style with sweet potato and spinach- had a bit of a kick
2. My fab colleagues have helped out with cover for work stuff. My job is not easily covered when I am off sick, but I have jiggled some stuff around, so I can rest for a few days
3. Lovely texts from my fab friend/surrogate mother, fussing after me, bless her
4. Sat and played with some beads earlier - only made one bracelet, but it was nice to just play
5. Dad came home from Sainsburys with a bag of treat sized twirls for me- not especially OS, but cheered me up and I think they might have been BOGOF. Just need to hide them from OH now!!
• Good evening all !

millie- sorry to hear that you have had a relapse with your health. Glad to hear that your mare hasn't been terrorising the neigh ( get it?) bourhood :D

Ladyhawk and purple k- please.. please ..tell me that you have not gone for the same job!!?? I don't think I could cope... Like the Mr. B ,Frith and Carolyntia saga;) But please let us both know how you get on xx

CCP- :rotfl:Lol re the slippers . Mog must be feeling better :D

sparrer-(( hugs))

5 for today

1. Worked till 3pm today , having gradually built up to this again. My back was not too painful - but only working 3 days this week as I have flexi and Fridays of now.

2. Finally received a reply from one of my nephews after I sent him a joke on f/book on Friday . Sarcastic but amusing response as expected:)

3. Scrabbling around in my Mums recycling bin to retrieve some tokens from her newspaper that she had forgotten to save for me. She did laugh - at her dumpster diving daughter as she had to dance around under the security light to keep it on so that I could retrieve my "treasure".

4.Used the last of the tomatoes that my neighbour gave me. I cooked them off and strained them to make a pasta sauce and added low fat soft cheese and basil.Yummy and extremely cheap.

5.Hens pleased to see me and was advised that they heard my car pull in to the drive after work. They wait by the gate or back door for me at my usual "coming home time". For food most likely.:)

Have a good evening all x

Evening all,

Sorry to say there is still no news. I was on tenter hooks all day and did no work as I don't really want to start anything because I think I will be out the door as soon as I hand in my notice (IF I get the job)

Chicken - I hope you are under no illusions that the hens just want food!
CCP - sounds like you really were on the top of your game today with the money saving!
Millie - so sorry to hear about your neighbour

1) Woke up realtively early and finished the washing up from last night

2) NSD

3) Walk into town at lunchtime - lovely sunshine!

4) HM burritos for supper

5) My friend L being very supportive about the job situation with lots of BBM's and phone calls.

Night night and sleep tight

L

ETA - finally got round to breaking the world most annoying smoke alarm which kept beeping every 5 minutes (though it was only 2 years old). I tried hiding it all over the flat so I couldn't hear it beep. I just didn't know what to do with it. I couldn't put it in the bin, I couldn't put it outside, I couldn't put it in the car... in case people walking past thought it was a bomb! Anyway I took a screw driver to it this evening and now it has been permanently silenced. Though I did have a pang of guilt as it beeped its last, feeble cry.
Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

1. The sunshine yet again :)

2. Good trip to the hospital, I got there early and was seen straight away and will now be on the cancellations list for my op; fingers crossed it'll happen soon. I think I shocked the nurse by how prepared I am, but of course as a single mummy who's waiting for this so desperately, I need to be! I have a bed downstairs, people lined up to help me/DD, employer aware of the fact I can go in with virtually no notice etc

3. I signed the paperwork to get my house on the market and fingers crossed the perfect new house for me and DD will come on the market soon too! The place my friend told me about is the same property that the agents are waiting to get their mitts on, and I've been promised that I'll be the first person to see it and even better, it should be just within my budget!!

4. I took more stuff to the charity shop and the tip this morning.

5. Popped in to see OH, nice but not long enough *sigh* He's now got his son staying, so contact will be sporadic til Sunday or Monday *sigh*

6. Kind of saving money tonight as I was supposed to be out with a friend but she is feeling poorly so I'm home typing this....

7. Lovely chats on the phone with DD who is having a whale of a time with her grandparents

Millie sorry for your loss, hugs to you and yours x
• Ladyhawk- Hmm. I should imagine that with your heightened anxiety levels at the moment that the beeping really got on your **** !! No wonder the vermin hoofed it - peppermint oil ..my eye..they saw you with the screwdriver :rotfl:

• 1) My find of £10 Christmas money in a book paid for lunch out today with an old friend from Toddler Group days.
2) Went out late this afternoon and did an hour and a half's digging. The old compost mountain at the bottom of the garden is going down nicely and I hope it will improve our clay soil. Was able to reuse a black bag too.
3) DS's gf came round and ate up the dahl saved from yesterday. The rest of us had chops and we all had chips from home grown potatoes and a crumble from one of our bottles of fruit puree.
4) Watching Hugh on catch-up. The micro salads and growing veg in wine boxes looks interesting.
5) Have been lent The Time Traveller's Wife by a friend. Not sure about it at the moment but it's always good to have a books that have been filtered by friends.
• Wow thank you for all of the support, and I'm sorry I can't report good news, but fraid it's a no go :( I didn't get it, it was positive feedback so nothing I can change about the interview and quite honestly looking back nothing I feel I would change that I know of! Hey ho more applications chin up and what have you but I am worried now.

1. Just made a chilli and rice with mince we got for reduced from £3 to 10p!!Wow, wasn’t very hungrey thou so most of it will be put back as leftover.
2. Trying to relax, people by us bottles of wine to say thanks for things, obviously they don’t know us that well that we don’t drink wine, but tonight it will turn into a spritzer I think.
3. We have been given some tiles from the MIL which we are using in our tiny bathroom to sort the floor out (it’s the length of the bath literally)
4&5, He’s worth it! Very thankful for my OH he seems to know just what to say to keep me cheered.

Hi all

Not been here for a while, not sure why, but anyway here i am with new resolutions

Mine for yesterday

1. Went shopping with DD for a prom dress  really not MSE but we had a lovely day together
2. clearing freezer this week - and next and the one after I think - so chicken risotto for tea, using up chicken breasts and frozen stock
3. OH away and DS came into my bed, he doesn't do it much anymore, but i still like it when he does
4. Constant platform changing of trains at Birmingham meant hoards of people rushing from one platform to another and then back again. Quite irritating but had me :rotfl:
5. Seeing DD in her prom dress (yes, I know it's really early and we hadn't meant to buy so soon, but it was THE ONE) - she looked beautiful, a teary proud mummy moment.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
