Thank you so much for your thoughtfulness and all the lovely messages and good wishes. I was a bit blubbery when I read them :o. DM is 'stable', my DB is back from holiday so he and his family are taking their 'turn' to look after her for now.

Sorry to hear you've heard nothing Ladyhawk, and that your news wasn't what you wanted to hear Purple Kitten. Hope you both find something better asap

    1. Nice to be home and sleep in my own bed
    2. Good to be able to eat fresh food rather than the boxes of ready meals DM keeps in the freezer
    3. Relieved my friend has support from other relatives and friends, it's a horribly traumatic time for her and the children
    4. A dry day today
    5. nsd

Enjoy the rest of your day
  • sparrer - ((hugs)) to you.

purple k- sorry to hear that you did not get the job.

  • Good evening all!

    5 for today

    1. OH found out today that he has WON his employment tribunal. It has been very stressful for him, a real battle ,and the respondents threw a barrister and solicitor at it whilst he represented himself .I am very proud of him.

    2. Review meeting with one of the companies that I work with went well. I raised some major concerns in a report that I wrote about the company and they have addressed the issues which they were required to "prove" today. Very encouraging.

    3.Home by 3.15 pm .

    4. Found an abandoned fresh unbroken egg in the hen coop . Someone must have been caught short.

5.Evening to myself watching rubbish tv as OH is out tonight.

Have a good evening all x

Hugs to those who need them :)

    Evening all
Ladyhawk- Hmm. I should imagine that with your heightened anxiety levels at the moment that the beeping really got on your **** !! No wonder the vermin hoofed it - peppermint oil ..my eye..they saw you with the screwdriver :rotfl:

:rotfl:this did make me chuckle - thanks!

Well, just heard and I didn't get the job :( They said that they couldn't afford me... which is so annoying since I had gone in high expecting them to negotiate down. I did tell him that.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

    1) NSD :j

    2) Funny BBM's with my friend L about how I am going to tell the date on Friday that I am having second thoughts which has cheered me up. Serves me right for getting involved with someone at work.

    3) Took some cupcakes into the office and they were well received despite being a little... dense

Well, that enough for today... am going to see about a large bottle of wine.

    :(

  • Ladyhawk- I am sorry to hear that you didn't get the job:( There must be some kind of conspiracy going at the moment for you guys ??.

Glad I made you laugh though :D

    Back home!

Here are random pleasures from Sunday up to today...

    1) Went to lunch at my school friend's parents' house on Sunday lunchtime.

    2) Popped in to have a cup of tea with my sister.

    3) Got picked up by MrB on Sunday afternoon.

    4) Just got back from Gower!

    5) Good food in the pub connected to our room (separate block of rooms).

    6) Lovely beach.

    7) A walk out to Worm Head.

    8) Watching MrB watching the football where Man City won 6-1. (He's from Manchester).

    9) Getting back to the kitten.

    10) Getting to drive half way home in MrB's car. A car where everything works and it actually moves smoothly forwards if you put your foot down!

And the bad/good news. Falling into a massive black hole of ptsd blargh on the Sunday night and being pretty immobile/monosyllabic on Monday. And MrB saying all the right things and putting my mind at rest over quite a few worries. :-)

Commiserations Ladyhawk and pk It's such a rough old world out there atm and I realise, at 62[just mis-typed 82:eek:],that given tempus fugits inevitably, I was lucky to hit OAP age when I did. This morning's figure of >1million 16-24 year olds having neither work, nor continuing education, is despairing and alarming for any Nation's future.

    1. I'll pour the wine, Ladyhawk.
    2. Pk - consider yourself purr-y stroked.
As we all keep saying - BUT IT IS SO - the right Something WILL come along.
    3. Work day at Charity today and met a lovely couple, to whom I have just emailed rosehip syrup recipes from mse:) We were all book-y and found same ones/same ones/same ones talk/books over and over again. It was just such a happy chance meeting.
    4. Dropped some foodbank goodies and the Chris Brasher jacket off en route back. L is always so pleased and I love helping out.
    5. Early bed, with tea[and maybe atinybit of choc], with lovely reading, before an appointment demain matin.

Sudden chilly downpour swept in at hometime, so hope neighbour's bro. can help me sort out shed re-roofing asap.

Frith - I'm thrilled that Mr B's safe hands and loving arms, lit. and fig., prove to be precisely that. You're OK this time, with this good man, you really are.

    1. Spent the afternoon with OH and his son and his parents (little) *sigh*. Helped OH's DS with some homework then we sat around and chatted and OH and I held hands *swoon* like the lovely cuddly man he is.....

    2. Took back some stuff to shops and will enjoy re-spending the money elsewhere!

    3. Productive day at the office

    4. Lovely chats to DD on the phone

    5. Silly texts with OH

    6. Looking forward to an early night knitting and watching Holby and being snuggly

    7. Had scrummy baked potato for dinner

oh dear... bottle of wine is nearly finished and I have just texted one of our board members that I want another job... oops.

From tomorrow I am back on the wagon.

PS have also appplied for a fabulous new job... not quite as fabulous as the one that I didn't get but good nonetheless. And when I go home next month my recruitment consultant friend and I are going to have a coaching session about what my next role should be
