Ampersand - sending reiki your way, thinking of you x
Frith - wow to you and Son1 in the car, wish I'd had a mummy like you :) And hope you both feel better NOW!
CCP - hugs, wish I could wave a magic wand for you and make the work situation miraculously improve beyond belief...
Sparrer - enjoy Ikea and the meatballs. My meat-eating friends all seem to drool when they think of them, so hope you like them too! DD and I are big fans of the bulle (cinnamon rolls) as they remind us of a blissful holiday to Sweden a few years ago :)
Ladyhawk - sounds like your 12 hour sleep was your body trying to fight off the start of this yukky feeling you've got now, hope it passes very soon for you.......

Hugs and reiki to all poorly peeps.

Yesterday I felt very annoyed with myself and so I hope I can find lots of good things to counteract it. Due to my operation being postponed mainly down to being on the large side (that's probably causing most of problems that the hospital spoke of; my weight and then the fact my daft leg is just frankly rubbish and I seem to revel in being a "complicated case") :( I will now have up to a year's wait for my operation which is pretty distressing :(:( I've asked to be put on the cancellation list which may (pretty please) half the waiting time, but of course there's no guarantee :(

So, time for the good things:

    1. The lady at the hospital was fantastically friendly and explained the waiting list process in simple, but not condescending, terms to me.

    2. She has also booked me in for an early pre-op appointment so that I can be more assured of knowing I'm in the hopeful cancellations group, which is very kind of her.

    3. OH is being amazingly gorgeous, wonderful and supportive in a non-mopey way, even more than usual (and I didn't think I could ever say that as he is such a fabulous person in my life). We're so lucky to have found each other (I know that's a far better way of saying "I'm so lucky to have him", as we complement each other). Anyway, I'll stop there as it probably all sounds a bit gushy and daft, especially at 2:40am!! :)

    4. DD gave me the best cuddles :)

    5. Had a fabulous day at work, I felt like I achieved a lot, even though a big part of it was just clearing out a load of rubbish from my desk - I like to think of it as preparation for a hopefully early operation, knowing that I could leave for a few weeks almost without feeling guilty at the carnage I might leave behind, lol.

    6. When we went to pick up OH, we had a great time with his aunty (who I'd secretly like to adopt :) ), his parents, his sister and brother in law and their son. DD and OH's nephew are 2 years apart and get on brilliantly when they meet up. Feel very blessed to have this extended 'family' in our lives as my family are 2 hrs + away.

    7. Concreted my position as technological wizard of OH's family by programming OH's aunty's new mobile phone *blush*.

    8. OH babysat whilst I went out to a course/group that I'm really enjoying.

    9. Scrumptious meal at the group, especially the apple crumble.....sorry Ampersand!! ;)

    10. Made a new chum as I was asked to take someone home after the group, she lives at the top of my road and was really lovely. I've offered to take her each week if she needs a lift, happy to share my car with someone friendly and fun.

    11. I've made plans for DD and I to have a sleepover/babysit my friend's gorgeous baby on Saturday night. Can't wait to tell DD as she loves the baby :) I made the plans then let OH know and he said oh but we won't see each other much over the weekend now (as for some reason he needs to be back home tonight, just can't remember why....) but then said but that's fine, baby won't be a baby for long and I know you both love her and her parents need a night off without children (they have 3 between them), whereas you and I have got the rest of our lives together :):)

    12. Lovely hug from a friend at the group last night :)

    13. Low spend day - bought much needed and nice and cheap fruit and veg at L!dl and bumped into a lady who used to work at DD's nursery who says she only remembers DD as she was such a beautiful girl, inside and out.

Wow! even on a day that had some sadness for me, I still managed 13 things to be happy about. On that very happy note, I think I shall now try and get back upstairs to OH and to sleep :)

Wow Millie2008 - feedback like that is lovely. I lecture too and generally all you get a complaints, but every now and again one gets something like that which makes it all worthwhile.

Kittikins - i am a fan of bulle too, after our holiday in Sweden this year. I am going back with work on a study visit in April so can enjoy more of the real thing. I rather like the idea of fikke too (coffee and cake)

    Mine for yesterday

    1. Not MSE / OS / environmentally friendly but for once i'm not thinking about that as my darling OH has booked tickets for us to go to New York next summer :T :j (actually was more MSE than one might think as he got very discounted tickets through work)
    2. Productive coffee meeting with colleague and a job crossed off the list - coffee meetings always get more work done.
    3. Unexpected coffee with OH when he came to my work to collect the car
    4. Sat with DD watching criminal minds for an hour, whilst knitting her winter jumper
    5. Nice soak in bath in the morning - even tho i had to get up early to do it.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

I will try and find 5 for yesterday. Received our water bill and it was enormous and we must have a leak in the service pipe which was replaged a few years ago. Had a sressful day at work. FIL taken to hospital and MIL not coping well so a visit there is needed.

    1. Listening to my ipod with new music on it which DS2 gave to me.

    2. Walking my dog and meeting a friend.

    3. Pilates class which does help with sress and re-energysing(?)

    4. Cakes at work at lunch. The only good part of the day.

I think thats all I can manage.

Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    Good evening all !

    The Mhagster has landed !!!

villagelife- I am sorry to hear that you have had a stressful time.

sparrer- I did laugh re your DD's thoroughbred. Not at you being scared by it cornering and baring its teeth at you but I reckon the clever ones have plenty of time to "plot" and "scheme" the older they get ...spending so much time being stabled and all. BTW .. I hope Ikea was ready for you:D

CCP- enjoy your weekend and try and get a chance to relax. Not easy when you have a TMA to write and tutorial to attend ... oh look my kitchen cupboards need cleaning out! ... was my way of avoiding knuckling down to start one. But always managed to bang them out on time for 7 years on the trot. Good luck :) I am still sending more ((hugs)) to you though:p

Carolyntia- sounds like you have well and truly "landed on your feet" in your new job :)

    5 for today

    1. Half day at work followed by Physio appointment , I was home by 1pm.

    2. Sent my tokens off that I have collected to redeem a £5 gift card from Mr. T from my Mums newspaper.

    3. Got a book in the post from Am***n that OH got for me . It was used and cost £2.25 all in . Its called "Life Swap" a guide to downshifting .... maybe he misread the title and thought it said "wife":rotfl::rotfl:

    4. Tea cooked for us today by my Mum

    5. OH had brought some fillet steak for me for my tea tomorrow .

Have a good evening all and a happy weekend :)
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A

....we can all say nighty-night to each other in now-time, mhagster.

Glad to read of your safe return.

    1. Managed to stay out all day and luckily caught up with someone we've been concerned about. Had things from France to hand over plus some very basic basics and a little baking done at silly clocks. Things will sort themselves out for pregnant S and we can support her now.

    2. Listening to Michael Portillo [i-player]on Capitalism has been an excellent surprise.

    3. £20 giftcard arrived from Tesco after Clubcard Plus a/c mess. Very welcome - thankyou Mr T.

    4. Having received a scam attempt Parking Fine letter and vaguely remembering sth on mse about these being illegal, found an abundance of absolute reassurance and some amusing reading about same - mine's from CP Plus, if anyone should ever be similarly afflicted. I now have no intention of even bothering to waste a stamp or paper on a reply, let alone the RD fee I was contemplating.
    ABSOLUTE RULE: COMPLETELY IGNORE

    5. Really looking forward to seeing Grayson Perry on box next week, especially having picked up a remarkable charity shop book today:
A Broken Sky: Poems and Paintings (1995) Jack Pakenham.

    http://www.belfastgalleries.com/article.aspx?art_id=590
I feel like introducing them to each other and asking Pakenham if he knows of Grayson's epiphany with the Outsider paintings of Henry Darger, then asking Grayson if he's read or seen Pakenham. They need to.

    6. Off to early-ish bed so as to Crouch, Touch, Pause, Engage with matches chez moi demain. Wales v. Ireland...too close to call and I don't like to think of either losing, given what we've seen so far.
I think I have not too much to fear from my next opponents.

Snuggle up everyone, it's markedly colder today.

    ###############
Thankyou all for kind thoughts and reiki.
Sparrer- when I read of you heading to Ikea, like kittikins, I immediately thought 'Those Meatballs! Mmm-mm!'
Ladyhawk - I'm glad you allowed yourself to listen to yourself and go home to byes.

Village Life,re: ' a leak in the service pipe ' - this happened to me. Anglian Water spontaneously determined it and effected a decent refund![3 months ago] I was astonished. Please do enquire - it is apparently standard procedure.

I’ll try for 5 day, but myself and Mr PK are very lergied, its horrid, I am one of those people who would do anything not to be sick.

    1. A lay in, a very long lay in.
    2. Managed to keep a nice ham roll down, which is a big horay.
    3. Laying on the sofa with a fleece and a film on in the back ground
    4. The moggies are being overly friendly its almost like they are behaving while we are poorly.
    5. Feeling much better, and just whipped up a batch of chocolate cup cakes for the weekend

    Chicken:rotfl:That would been particularly unsubtle!
Carolyntia - Glad you are enjoying the new job. If only we could all be so content!

Been feeling icky again today but still struggled into the London office.

    1) Made myself a yummy supper and ate all of it. I feel so much better for it!

    2) Monthly pricing meeting with the big boss... it went really well.

    3) Left work at 4.30...

    4) Funny chat with a friend on FB which wouldn't be appreciated by normal people but amused us no end. We have a really strange relationship as I didn't really know him that well when he lived in London but about 8 years ago he moved to deepest darkest Wales but have become good friends because of FB and chat at least once a week.

    5) It's the weekend!!!! :j:j

    Have a great one
