5 OS Pleasures in your Day Today part 2
Comments
-
My five for today are:-
1 = Not having to go out of the house at all today (apart form walking the dogs) which has been wonderful, one less car on the road.
2 = Car and garage have both been vacuumed out and tidied up, really pleased. Car just needs to be washed and polished on the outside now, but that can until next week.
3 = Sat and did an hours worth of sewing this afternoon in the conservatory with the sun shining watching the trees and leaves blowing about and feeling snug inside.
4 = No washing to be done or dried - I know it's unbelievable isn't it my machine seems to be constantly on :rotfl:
5 = Having a really nice cuddle with our elderly labrador who so enjoys his kissy cuddles, seeing the joy is his face is priceless!Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money:beer:

Evening all,
Bleugh i feel rough (not alcohol related). I had to come home early as feeling distinctly yucky.
1) Getting an interview with a competitor next week. I have told them I am not particularly interested in leaving my current role but I could be tempted by the right offer.
2) Having an understanding boss and job which meant that I could come home early.
3) Coming home early and having a sleep (not that it made me feel much better)
4) My colleague A bringing me a basket for christmas hampers
5) Got my hair cut at lunchtime (20% discount).
Night all... I'm going back to moping on the sofa
Night
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening all!
Ladyhawk- I hope you feel better soon and I am glad that you were able to "locate" your folks... It must have been very stressful for you x
ampersand -it sounds as if you have a lot going on for you too at the moment? I hope all goes well with the biopsy
CCP-I hope that things were better at work for you today??
rainy days- loving the sound of your thoroughbreds, well done as a lot of folks would not take a chance on them. Why not? Perfect stable manners, usually used to traffic and handling , and keep their riders warm in the winter by cavorting about !
5 for today
1. half day at work and finished a report that was gnawing away at my conscience (sp?) whilst I was on sick leave.
2. Made a batch of coconut and chocolate buns as my aunt was visiting. My mum had baked her a chocolate sponge which resembled pitta bread and asked me to make some buns instead.
3.Wore a dress to work that used to be a very snug fit which hangs off of me now like a sack - oh dear ...I will need to get some new work clothes now:)
4.OOh £95 interest earned on a savings account and 42p on the other:rotfl:£23 tax deducted
5.Linda Mc veg lasagne for tea with chips and cauliflower cheese - Yum

3) This means I've got tomorrow off :j and means I can hop on a plane south for a long weekend if I need to
4) Very nice gammon steak for lunch

Not really, but thanks very much for asking! :A I started making a list of everything I need to do at the moment for the meeting with my manager next week, and stopped when I got to the bottom of the second A4 page.
Carolyntia - I've just seen your post - thanks to you, too.
Ladyhawk - what a scare to have had about your family - I'm so glad it turned out to be all right in the end. I hope you feel better right NOW!
ampersand - thanks for that link to the kitten thread - they're absolutely gorgeous. It's a real shame I'm in no position to offer one a home, but I don't think my mog would ever forgive me! :rotfl:
1) NSD - the second in a row. :money:
2) A slice of a delicious HM strawberry sponge cake for a colleague's birthday.
3) Cheese, HG tomato and salad cream sandwich for lunch - it always makes me think of childhood summer lunches.
4) I think I've almost cracked the plan for my essay - all I've got to do now is write the thing!
I think that's about it, sadly - I'm feeling tired and stressed, the mog's off-colour (he does this every few months just to scare me, I think - just when I decide he's going to have to go to the V-E-T he'll stage a miraculous recovery!), the weather's nasty, and I haven't even got a nice Saturday off to look forward to, as I've got to go to an OU tutorial in Southampton.
Sorry for the miseries - I promise I'll try and cheer up soon!Back after a very long break!0 -
millie- OMG - mine had a spiral fracture of the cannon bone. I got a call when I was at work as it had broken when he was galloping around the field with his mates. The bone had pushed through the skin and the hoof was just dangling - hideous , he saw me and tried to walk up to greet me ...I still have regular nightmares about this and it must be almost 20 years ago now
:cuddle:I still have nightmares about mine- hell day. His only saving grace is I saw it happen and vet was there within minutes and he was PTS there and then, but it put me off owning horses for a good while. I still had oldgit, who was a younergit then, but she was on loan. What shook me out of it was that she went down with bad laminitis and came home to us and I had to just deal with it and get back to horse owning. I know horses will be horses, but I am still wary of large group turnout
My five for today
1. Woke up early, so got up early and had a chill out time on my own, pottering around the house, then early start at work and successful meeting
2. Text from ponycarer to say how well they both went out this morning after new tootsies yesterdayand oldie cantered up the field, whinneying tonight, apparently- bless!!
3. Saw some of my students today and one of them (who I am not teaching at the moment) said how much her friends were enjoying my lectures and how lovely I was. Made meas it is not very often I get shown any appreciation for my job
4. Finished work early and came home early- much as I grumble about my job sometimes, as long as the work gets done, I can pretty much manage my own hours
5. I am not in work tomorrow (have a lecture to write, but we shall overlook that for now :rotfl:) Food shopping in the morning, ponies in the afternoon and they both need a good brush as they are looking a bit feral!!
Love and hugs to all, I am off to bed soon as a bit zzzz xx0 -
Hope all is well with your biopsies, Ampersand.
Felt a bit off today (and off colour) and had bigger son at home feeling peaky as well. Will attempt 5, though.
1) Sat around this morning watching a film with bigger son.
2) Tomato soup for lunch (the only thing to have if you're not well).
3) We felt better after lunch so I drove up to a local village hall car park - and taught bigger son how to drive... My mum taught me when I was 13 or 14 and we so rarely get a minute without younger son that we took the opportunity. It was slightly terrifying (for me!) but he can drive a bit now and did a few hill starts.
4) Went for a walk with my brother after tea and collected some chestnuts.
5) Ploughing through Harry Potter book 3 each bedtime.0 -

. I have to admit he was a stunner though.
ampersand I'd love to have a tabby kitten but know my two white ferals would hate it. It's taken them a very long time to accept the LO next door, my boy in particular is very bossy. Tabbies will always be special to me though. Will keep you in my thoughts re the biopsy.
CCP feel better now. Sending you some sunshine to brighten your tomorrow
1. A long lie in and woke to beautiful sunshine, which lasted until 4pm
2. A good brisk breeze got my laundry dry by lunchtime
3. Planted crocuses around the trees/shrubs in pots
4. Phone call from a friend, long chat and confirmation of my maiden trip to Ikea in the morning
5. Finished the last of the leftovers from Monday's dinner, but don't have to cook tomorrow as my friend says we're having meatballs for lunch at Ikea
Night night, sweet dreams

1) DH worked at home this morning, so that even while I was cleaning up, we were in the same house at the same time.
2) Coffee with a friend after lunch and a good pray for all the stuff that's happening to both of us.
3) Got some cross-stitch materials for my craft girls at school and then had to sit and do a sample so that they would have something to look at.
4) Gardeners' meeting this evening with an interesting speaker. He had some really good tips.
5) DH brought a bag of apples home from someone at work. That's two lots of preserving lined up on the worktop but I do like to see a well-stocked pantry.
On a negative note, DH has just warned me that this month's wages will be down by about a quarter, to make up for pension payments that weren't made last year when the company was in trouble. That's on top of paying off our family holiday and DD's Uni. I do wish I'd realised what was going on and saved it up at the time. I think we're going to have to pay closer attention!
Good thing there's an MSE.0
