Hi all
Just back from Italy and really wanted to post my pleasures here:
1 - All my family in Italy is well, including my dear Mum (79 year old) and my dear Auntie (82).
2 - In spite of the fact that they (all) just cannot resist trying to tell me how to live my life, it was really pleasant to spend these few days with all my family members.
3 - DD and DS were fantastic, I am so very very proud of them!
4 - I went to the sea! Twice! IN the sea! The sun was shining! How lovely it was, especially since I had previously given up on the hope of visiting the seaside at all this year. Thanks to my brother who drove us to the lovely beaches on two consecutive days
5 - It is always a fantastic pleasure to come back home, no matter how lovely the holiday.
6 - Holding and kissing my DH after 8 days apart, in the middle of Waitrose, not caring if anyone saw us getting soppy!
Good night all xFinally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).0 -

Oooh Caterina! And in Waitrose of all places! As my dad always used to say 'Just because you've got the money doesn't mean to say you have to spend it all at once'0 -

Evening all,
Just popping in to say hi. I'm shattered after my trip to Scotland - far too many late nights....
1) Flight home took off and arrived early
2) The kitcat was very happy to see me
3) Really nice taxi driver brought me home from the airport. We had a really good chat.
4) Learnt loads on the course and got some really nice feed back and identified some areas which I definitely need to work on.
5) Hot shower in a sec and then to bed... I have to be n Hastings tomorrow at 7am (at least a 2 hour drive) so I need my sleeeeeep
Hope you are all well.
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Good evening all!
Carolyntia and Caterina - glad to hear that you are both back safe and well and that you both had a good time on your respective holidays!
mhagster - safe journey x
sparrer- I hope that the sacrificial scones were worth the weigh in!!!
6 for today
1. Enjoying my apple for lunch in the garden in the sunshine .
2. Stupid but fun - the sun reflected off of my watch face and I kept moving the "spot of light " over the garden for the chickens to chase and peck. This kept me amused for ages.......and kept them away from my apple.
3.OH brought home two lobsters which he will devour with my mother. I can't cope with the "despatching" business so I make myself scarce..This will feed OH for several days- no need to meal plan for him for a bit:). He also recovered a large brass letter "A" off of a wreck , which he will clean up and display somewhere.
4. My cousin and Aunt came over to visit which was nice and they loved the weetabix brownies ! My cousins name begins with the letter "A" and I know that she would love to display the above in her fireplace.
5. Got the new car battery at Trade price.
6. Gave away 22 eggs
I have a bit of a "sh** or bust" meeting at work tomorrow - I am unsure which way it will go tbh . I do know that if I am forced in to a metaphorical corner I will ( and do ) have a habit of coming out "fighting" - this prospect worries me...:(
Enough about me !! Have a good evening all!!:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening all
Mine for today
1. Homemade yogurt for breakfast. It was very runny so had it in a mug and drank it instead. Still yummy.
2. kitchen and bathroom cleaned, washing on line and more in machine before going on school run.
3. Back on my childcare course. We did encouraging positive behaviour today and it was really interesting and i think i may now know why ds2 gets clingy some days in school.
4. Helped out in under 5's cooking. great fun. Made burgers and they were lovely. Even hubby ate 1 and he wont eat anything made from mince except shop bought burgers!!! Just need to get kids eating them now.
5. They started family seal back up. The kids made chicken parmos. just like the takeaway except baked not fried. they had huge pieces of chicken so have 1 left in the fridge which i will have for tea tomorrow when everyone else has pizza. I love parmos.0 -
5 pleasures for today (Thursday). To take my mind off smaller son for a moment who has been VERY high maintenance since 3.15. Nothing is right, put him in my bed to watch something on iplayer and one of his swirling, whirling hands managed to catch me in the eye.
Anyway!
1) Boys off to school OK this morning.
2) Went to the JobCentre to find out how having a job will affect us financially. Keeping my eyes open...
3) Met a friend for a cup of tea.
4) Tried a dress on (!) in M and S which was OK, and £45. Did the 2nd hand shops and there was a similar style dress, from Next, £6, that fitted better so I bought it!
Hmm, there isn't a 5) which is a shame because it hasn't been a bad day.0 -
Welcome back ladies, so pleased you're all back in the fold
1. Had a really good day, tired now but in the nicest way. Started when I got up at 7am, did the morning chores then weighed myself to find I've lost another 1lb this week so yes Chicken, the sacrifice may have hurt but it was worth it. Not a massive amount but slowly does it.
2. Went to the surgery for the last of my 'ladies tests'. It's the last one as after a certain age they don't recall you, but will if you request it. Results in 2 weeks, all should be well. Also booked in for my flu jab. Then went to the pharmacy to pick up my repeat scrip -wonderful NHS :T
3. Called into the local garage for flowers to take to a dear friend. We always give each other yellow roses, yellow for 'friendship'. Disappointed they didn't have any today, but got a massive bunch of creamy yellow gladioli for £2!
4. Friends partner popped in for a quick coffee, lovely surprise to see her as she's always at work when we older two get together. Luckily I bought three cakes (Mr M 3for2 offer) as she arrived just as we were tucking in
5. Had a lovely shower, got into clean jimmies and am spending the evening relaxing in front the box with The Big Celebrity Swim and Question Time.
Night night, sleep tighht

Evening
Pleasures for today;
1. DD got her exam results and are quite pleased with them. She is severly dyslexic so we did not know if she would even be entered for her science exam so very proud that she sat the exams and got a grade :T
2. Another free tin of soup from waitrose plus a bottle of wine reduced to a very low price :money:
3. Piece of carrot cake at work today left over from a meeting, yummy
4. News that my uncle is getting married next year, this is very suprising but good look to them and his future wife is lovely.
5. Very excited about this one. Have just booked flights for me and OH to go to New York in November. We intended to do this last year but as OH's job was a bit wobbly we left it. Have used airmiles to pay for the flights thanks to Mr.T just need to sort a hotel now. Think I have found one that is not too expensive just need to ask a friend about it as he goes there quite often. So excited :j
Hugs to all who need them0 -
