    1. Up by 7am, lots do as had a friend coming for coffee. Lovely sunshine - by 9.30am it was grey and grim but I'd cleaned all through downstairs and the bathroom
    2. 10am got a call from said friend who cancelled, leaving me in a bit of a quandary. I'd dashed to the bakers first thing for two rather large cream scones, now I was stuck with them and knew if I started one I'd be a pig and not stop. Fortunately my neighbour rescued me by coming home for lunch so she took them for her DD. Still can't believe I did that
    3. Sorted out the freezer again, I don't know how it gets so messy! The veg drawer is full of veg donated from friends gardens/allotments, I think they think I don't cook for myself as I'm on my own
    4. Made a list of everything in the food cupboard. What a lot of forgotten food at the back! Some out of date but brought to the front to use asap. A few months won't kill me
5.A lovely lazy afternoon, a siesta in my nice clean lounge with one of the furpets on my lap as a hot water bottle. I do wish they wouldn't pawclaw when they're contented though

    Night night sleep tight

Wow Sparrer, what self-control you have to have given away your cream scones....nomnomnom, wish I lived next door!

Frith - what a lovely friend you have, I don't know about webcams and Skype either, you're not alone :)
  • Mine today are

    1. Having only 2 bags in the black bin which goes tomorrow. So I'm in the process of cleaning out as many cupboards as I can.

    2. Making a chocolate cake.

    3. Walking to school on a crisp Autumn morning.

    4. Cleaning the wood on the stairs and making it look like new.

    5. Picking more blackberries on the way home from school ready to pop into the freezer.

Hope your all having a fab day xx

    Afternoon all!

Do try and read, but usually on my phone, so a pain to post from that! Actually got the laptop to myself for once - kids all back at school and college and Spud gurgling happily next to me! Life is fairly calm and I'm pottering around a lot as I'm still not allowed to drive, and there are limited places to walk when you live in the middle of nowhere! I'm quite enjoying the pace of life at the mo, everything is a lot less frenetic as I can't just jump in the car and go somewhere, and I'm still on maternity leave, so not rushing for work :)

    Anyway, my pleasures:

    1. OH taking me shopping last night after he finished work, even though he hates supermarkets and was knackered, he knows that I get slightly panicky if supplies of anything run too low! And TBH loo roll was getting perilously low lol!

    2. Spud being adorable and cuddly and gorgeous, and currently just dozing off lying next to me, ahhh to be a babe!

    3. Having got most of my job list done this morning during her early nap, including the Hummingbird cupcakes that dd2 requested.

    4. The sun shining brightly today, so lovely after yesterday's gloom, and being able to hang out the washing.

    5. Picking yet more veg from the raised beds, they have been fantastic, and I'm sure have already paid for themselves, still loads of toms, runners and raspberries out there.

Have a good day and hope to pop back more regularly! xx

  • Hi all

It's been sometime since I've posted, but I have been following now I have a little time..

1.A lay in, well technically I’m not working and trying not to become nocturnal :-)
    2. I finally cleared out the corner swing unit to get a grip on what we have, we can last 35 days if snowed in thanks to tinned items and whoopsied bits in the freezer.
    3. Cleaned out all of the animals, which also means the washing / drying is on the line, while it’s windy out there
Still have 3 lots of washing to do thou.
    4. Home made pasta bake for dinner as I had the time and leftovers.
    5. An hour to relax and read

    Evening all.

    1) NSD.

    2) I finally admitted to myself that I'm not coping with my workload and arranged a meeting with my manager to sort things out before I collapse! ;)

    3) Picked my first ever HG courgette. :j It's probably a bit small for picking really, but I was worried it was going to get munched by a slug if I left it much longer.

    4) Lovely cuddles with the mog when I got home.

    5) Not very OS, but a treat dinner tonight of scampi, chips and mushy peas. :D Scampi's horrendously expensive but I guess it's cheaper than a takeaway from the chippy.

    Have a pleasant evening, all.
Back after a very long break!
  • Evening all!!

    Mine for today:

    1. Met a lovely lady this morning, who is going to be helping me with some stuff
    2. Grabbed an hour to do the shopping for visitors coming at the weekend as I have a busy couple of days ahead. Got a few bargains, but still spent lots
    3. Saw the ponies, had cuddles and horse is still sound *keepstouchingwood* Sat in the sun for a few minutes and had a drink, watching them graze. Love doing this, it's so therapeutic
    4. Took the dog for a walk around the field and realised we still have some blackberries, so must make time to pick those
    5. Have made some jewellery for Mum's friend's charity coffee morning, need to do a few more bits tonight
    6. Nice text message conversation with a very special friend
    7. Early PJs tonight, then going to snuggle up with OH and find something on TV

Not a huge amount done today for me. DH has now finished painting the fascia boards around the house, he now just has to do the pointy big ends front and back. Thinks he will be finished for Friday but so far it's looking crisp and lovely.

Done three loads of washing all out on the line and dried in this gusty breeze we have had.

Standing in the bedroom window watching the sheets being blown on the line - I know it sounds daft but I like to see it :)

Vacuumed house and stripped our bed - I love getting into a clean fresh bed! Not put the flannelette sheets on just yet holding out on that until we get the first frosts!

Had a lovely walk in the Autumn sunshine over the field this afternoon walking the dogs - bliss.
Cat, Dogs and the Horses are our fag and beer money :D

    Mine for today

    1. Caught the end of the sunrise this morning on my walk.

    2. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom before school run and then did all the ironing in the morning.

    3. Got some college work done this afternoon.

    4. Dd was 'ray of sunshine' in school today even though she said she was a bit ill this morning and refused to have the day off.

    5. Cooked a banana and choc chip cake today and have homemade strawberry yogurt in the slow cooker now. Hope its as thick and creamy as the butterscotch one.
