Hi everyone and hope your days are going well/evenings were calm/nights are safe and warm.
1) The people that bought my sons bed off ebay were very nice and very happy with it. It was a good experience all round.
2) We had a lovely dinner of pork chops, chips and peas with apple sauce I made from our apples.
3) Took my son to Cubs and then on the way home we walked through the funfair that's in town and.....
4) ...found £5.00 on the floor!!!....
5) ....AND found a "50p off any ride" voucher, so Dill and I had a "free" go on one of the fairground rides that should have been £2.00 each, and we still brought home £1.50 profit
Horray for finding money!!
Love and hugs all xx"There is no substitute for time."

evening all
5 for yesterday
1. DS2 crept into bed with us very early after a nightmare. Though it was too early on a Sun morn and he was upset.... it was lovely to cuddle up to him so a pleasure for me (and we are lucky to have a big bed ). Keep thinking he will be too big for this one day. DS2 hardly ever gets into our bed now.
2. another bright morning. took the boys to local green space and I picked blackberries (again!) whilst they played with a ball. very relaxing.
3. cooked lovely dinner including homemade apple crumble which went down well (and went down well :rotfl:) felt nice to be appreciated and see DH and sons enjoying my food.
4. watched Downtown Abbey for 1st time, just the thing for a Sun eve.
5. enrolled for an Open University course which I've been putting off, not sure why - probably pure fear!
tucked up in bed now feeling poorly, today has been harder to think of 5 but here goes in case I forget tomorrow...
1. morning's preps and school run all smooth which helped with me feeling grotty.
2. kind words from couple of friends today
3. DS2 ran up to me after school for a big hug. That hasn't happenned for a long, long time - he's all "grown up" at the grand age of 7!
4. DH popped out to buy us fish and flips as neither of us had energy to cook (and he has a broken finger too poor love) no washing up after either!
5. cats have been very purry today - they seem to know when I'm ill and its very comforting when they insist on pinning me on the sofa.
on the not so good side, missed 1st sessson of a new (and very MSE free) exercise class arranged by local schools for parents. still if that's all that didn't go quite as planned, I'm a lucky gal!
eyes closing as I type so night night and have a good day tomorrow...0 -
ampersand hope the GP managed to sort you out, get well now! Sounds like you had a strenuous day loading and unloading the trailer. Do make sure you find room for your sleeping bag and lots of warm clothes if you plan to sleep in the car in Nov. Makes feel cold thinking about it! Yes, we must get together soon! Will sort out what days are free in the next week or so.
chicken I did much the same as you, just fancied a toasted crust and thought it smelled suspect in the toaster - on inspection I had to cut off some very pretty greeny coloured bits - but it was lovely with Vegemite. Waste not want not, eh?!
Kitchenbunny - oh, lucky you to see a green woodpecker. I've been told there a quite a few about now but I've yet to see one
5 for today
1. Woke up to another bright and sunny morning
2. An hours pulm exercise class, must be doing some good as I do ache a lot afterwards
3. Quick visit to see DD who was just on her way to work, picked up my spare key as I locked myself out this morning - again. I seem to make a habit of locking myself out of the house/car
4. Rain forecast overnight, the lawn needs a good watering and it will fill the water butt which is getting low. Every cloud...
5. Prepped a bag of apples a friend gave me, part-cooked and frozen for future use in pies, turnovers, might even make a plum duff when the weather is really cold
Sweet dreams

4. lovely lunch of cheese, crackers, home made chutney and home grown tomatoes followed by lovely HM fruit cake made with fruit soaked in beer
5. Rewatched the run on TV to see all that i missed - got a bit emotional
Have a good day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Morning everyone!
VJsmum - wow!! Well done you! Hope you're not feeling too sore now xx
My five for yesterday
1. Another NSD!
2. Managed to just about crack something I am doing for work, that has been bothering me. Need to speak to someone about it today
3. Pony cuddlesand horse is *touchwood* still sound.
4. Fed cat and made lots of fuss of him, he's going to his new home today. Much as we would like to keep him as a yard cat, he needs a proper home and lots of love and fuss
5. Home cooked (by mum) roast dinner last night0 -
well done VJ's mum! go you!
well.....so much for Spring/summer.....bloomin' freezing again and has poured on & off....that'll teach me for moaning!
1.Busy & productive day at work!
2.DD2 had free tutor in library after school. I had a glance through 3 glossy mags, took down one recipe & on way out alarm sounded as DD1 went through security gates! Well! Talk about accusatory staff! She had taken out a DVD & had the receipt to prove it & the assistant was most rude! Anyway....I suppose they were jsut doing their job, however, ways & means!
3.Have bought a cooked chicken for tea and it's cheaper than a fresh one.
4.Nice chat with my mum & so good to say see you at the weekend!
5.hmmmmm.....can't think of a5th! Need to go & hoover & can't be bothered....too much to do & little motivation!
Have a good day!0 -
Well, it's après-midi and I'm not dressed, but like you, mhagster, bought a ridiculously cheap cooked chicken yesterday[39p] and dismantled it, to make broth and meaty dishes various.
1. Doing as Dr said, hence 'not dressed' yet. Don't really care.
2. Hoping new Meds work before more appts next week.
3. Left carcass[not mine]to barely simmer o/n with veg etc., but loss of sense of smell is another symptom atm. I look forward to Chicken Soup magic, lit. and fig. both, despite not being Jewish.
4. More porridge at 3am, although Mr T's Value[misnomer these days]Oats which were 47p, are now 75p.
5. Finally began Saturday's Grauniad and am also drifting with radio and i-player.
Any sleep feels like a bonus. Pleased that my pick for Antiques Master[ludicrous Quiz, title, script, ignorance and ineptitude generally, but I still watch] won. Sandy, only just scraping into Final as highest-scoring loser wore red socks and pink shirt and what appeared to be well-loved brown corduroys; had something of the elderly-young affable boy about him. I liked him from the off[which was only yesterday or day before anyway] Spooks this morning and Antiques Road Trip also watched, sortakinda.
Have to get cracking really, but just for now, won't.............

vjsmum - I see that the sparkly, flashy Congratulations banner I'd posted in early note disappeared and I can't seem to put it back now. Will you take it as still billowing heartily for you, please?
It really is a spectacular thing that you have done - a Hundred Hoorahs!

p.s. [aka no. 6] I must be below par to post only 5, so should add the main reason for getting out yesterday was to Bank takings from w/e and do fast Mr T basics. Bank felt good - they are unfailingly kind, gracious and caring, regardless of my minimal Balances. Maybe, just maybe, at long last, I am not diverting the little that comes my way to benefit of a.n.other. My holiday fund for NZ may come to sth after all.

Hello all, yesterday's goodies
1. Great day at work
2. Took some bedding back to Argoos and the chap gave me a couple of car air freshener sachets (ok, they're free advertising but what the heck, my car will smell sweeter for a couple of days)
3. Printed off a lovely photo DD took of me and OH *swoon*
4. Popped over to a friend's with some magazines I'd finished with and ended up staying til late o'clock, putting DD in jimjams after she had dinner with friend's children....and drinking lots of vino and laughing raucously with the grownups
5. A lovely colleague who left the office about 18 months ago has returned to the fold, so nice to see him back with us.
6. Got the washing dried on the line, thank you sunshine!
7. Got home to a letter from the hospital to tell me someone will be scheduling my operation in a couple of weeks. Gulp. But at least I now know that I am on the list......double gulp.
8. Motherkins had an operation that appears to have gone very well
9. Lovely texts from OH *swoon*
Today is also shaping up well, if only my silly leg would behave itself......0 -
Afternoon! Haven't had the greatest of days, but I can still think of a few pleasures to brighten it up. Here they are:
1. Getting everything I needed from my shopping list and nothing else.
2. Managing to do another workout today, in spite of aching legs.
3. Being really focused at work this morning (and still managing to have some of that feeling this afternoon)
4. The rain. The scent of rain falling from a damp-looking grey sky.
5. A colleague brought in some chocolate biscuits.
I really feel like having a baking day. I know me though. I get these feelings and plan them, and then when I get there I do a bit but get distracted and forget to do the rest. I have to make a cake for my niece's birthday this weekend, so that should satisfy the urge for some kitchen chemistry. Woke up ten minutes before the alarm went off this morning and had a blissful feeling of "stay in bed a little longer without the guilt of running late" - that was nice. Little points of light in an otherwise hard day.
Hope everyone has a nice evening. Take care all.
KB xx
