Hiya
VJsmum - good luck in the north great run tomorrow
Sparrer - i know, as soon as she said from the school my heart sank and i wondered which one was ill or in an accident.
CCP - sorry you got burnt but its good that it hurts. my sister got really badly burnt and it didnt hurt then a week later saw her doctor who rushed her to the burns unit and she stayed there for 2 weeks. The burn was so bad it burnt away the sensors in the skin that would make it hurt.
20400keith - i love apple juice with mulled wine spices. such a warm, comforting drink that i love in winter. kids love it too.
Mine for today
1. a lovely walk in the sunshine to lidl with the kids and got the cheese on offer.
2. a lovely walk to the park with the kids and the dog in the sunshine.
3. Homemade yogurt for breakfast number 1. Hubby then cooked bacon when he got up for breakfast number 2.
4. Made bread and it was lovely.
5. Lots of cuddles from ds2 today.0 -
millie - I hope that it is nothing serious with your lame youngster?
Thanks, she's actually 8 now  but she is still my "young horse" as we have had her since she was a yearling and she will always be young in comparison to the 29yo :rotfl: She has a very aggressive bone spavin in her OS hock, which doesn't want to fuse, so has good days and bad days. Yesterday she had a major spook at the cat and clattered off down the yard, then toe pointed on her bad leg. Lame on the turn now, but ok on a straight line. I buted her and am waiting to hear from yard owner how she is this morning....
And Happy Sunday everyone  Hope you are all well xx0 -
millie-sorry to hear this
8 is a little young for this? I get my "bog" and "bone" mixed up sometimes x

quick post as I am very tired & just about to turn light off!
1.Up early, made rhubarb & ginger jam .....a tiny pot of! However, it was from fruit that I got in my bag of reduced fruit last week! Used a scrawny wee lemon too!
2.Made brownie muffins, DD1 was at a birthday party yesterday& I attempted some & they were an out & out disaster. So decided to try again & they were perfect. Made pancakes for my talented DD2......all this before 7.30am!
3.Out at 8am to head to city to drop DD2 off for her concert. 2500 kids were singing & dancing in a trully amazing concert twice in 1 day. Well worth all the rehearsal time she has had.
Dropped her off & OH & I sat in a very nice patisserie & read the papers & had a most delicious pain au chocolat.
4.Enjoyed an amazing 3 hours of singing & dancing & orchestral music. Then walked to city centre where big 2 were waiting on us. They had came into city on train. How independant they have become in a year. Watched some street theatre, enjoyed some sunshine, had something to eat, wandered along riverbank and finally headed back to car....feet aching by this point!
5.Picked a poor , tired ,wee DD2 up, who has hardly any voice left. I have so much stuff to to get ready for going home & a project for work that will happen when I'm on holiday.....however, it has been lovely to spend a day away.....always tomorrow!
Have a good day x Night!0 -
Afternoon, thought I'd post some pleasures for today! It looks like it's going to rain here, but we're inside now with no reason to go out so it may if it wants. Here's my pleasures:
1. The vegetable soup was amazing with added meatballs - CCP: I saw this recipe and it made me want to do something similar (but downscaled to Kitchenbunny's fridge level). Glad I did.
2. Finding a lamb shoulder cushion joint in the freezer I had forgotten I'd bought. It's slow roasting in the oven now, ready to add to roast potatoes, carrots and other veg later... Mmmm
3. Watching the Hairy Bikers' Meals on Wheels programme. Really interesting, an eye-opening watch and it made me want to help. I wish I had more time so I could give some of it to those that need it. Plus, the Hairy Bikers' are so charming and engaging you can't help be cheered up (IMHO!)
4. Going to visit a friend, and teaching her the simple art of making stuffing from scratch. She was preparing a roast and didn't have time to go out to buy some. I explained, and we made some stuffing balls together out of things she already had in.
5. Mr Kitchenbunny. Today, we were offered another big bag of cooking apples. As another bag was offered due to more being on the tree, he agreed that the current bag should go to someone else who can also make use of them, and we'll have the next one. It'll save me all the prepping and cooking, and he wanted me to have a rest.Aww.
Millie - I hope the horse is doing better.
Mhagster - mmm, brownie muffins - they sound amazing (and another excuse for this Kitchen-Bunny to get her apron on) Any chance of a recipe please?
Have a nice evening, everyone. ((hugs)) to those in need.
KB xx

Afternoon all.
Thanks for the sympathy over the burn - I'm pleased to say that, thanks to the application of lots of cold water and aloe vera juice, I've ended up with nothing worse than a rather sore blister.
1) Met my sister for a quick drink on her way to visit our parents.
2) Walked home along the seafront and got slightly damp - within minutes of getting home it rained really hard, which was nice timing.
3) Managed to watch some of the showjumping over the internet, despite technical problems (the picture quality was so bad it was like watching a 3D broadcast without the special glasses).
4) The mog was quite sick earlier and has been looking rather sorry for himself, but he's just eaten some cat food so I figure he can't be that unwell.
5) Roast pork for dinner, and there should be plenty left for sandwiches for the rest of the week.
Have a pleasant evening, all.Back after a very long break!0 -
millie-sorry to hear this
8 is a little young for this? I get my "bog" and "bone" mixed up sometimes x
I am hearing of it more and more in younger horses, quite a few of my friends have experienced it. Not sure what caused my horse's as we backed her ourselves, so I know she is low milage and she has never been hammered. Problem is, we are rather running out of options, but I just want to keep her sound and happy.
Millie - I hope the horse is doing better
Thank you x
My five for today
1. Mini lie in!! Well til about 8.30, so a mega lie in for me!! and OH walked the dog, for about the second time, ever. Well, apparently the dog walked him and showed him up :rotfl:but we shall overlook that. He clearly needs more practice!!
2. Caught up with housework this morning, felt very virtuous!
3. Made yummy soup for lunch and it went down v well!!
4. NSD
5. I made some new jewellery designs and I am happy with them (sometimes I am v v self-critical!!). Equally critical mother has cast her eye over them and approves!!
6. Day off hosses but horse trotted out sound this morning- I swear she likes to make a liar out of me...and give me sleepless nights
CCP - hope the cat is ok!
Mhagster - those muffins sound yum!!

Good evening all,
millie- glad to hear that your mare is sound again x
keith - I just don't understand people sometimes- "tea leafs" =scum of the earth in my opinion.
VJsmum- I hope all went well today for you in the GN run ??
CCP- I hope that your cat gets better soon
5 for today
1. A rare treat - croissants in bed -not so keen on the crumby sheets though
2. Managed to rescue a seagull that had been pinned to the steps in the garden by two little red hens...It needed enough space in order to be able to "take off" so I herded them all up in to my veg. garden so that it could make its escape. It came back later so I am assuming that it was only its pride that was hurt .
3. Treated to a chinese take away by my Mum as a "thank you " for looking after her dog whilst she was on holiday. I made the egg fried rice with prawns and peas in it . It was a lovely meal , if not a little unusual to have on a Sunday evening .
4. Rummaging around through my Mums recycling bin in the rain, as she buys a certain newspaper that has points to collect in order to redeem them for various vouchers etc. My Mum has no interest in collecting them . I managed to salvage quite a few and will continue to do so in true OS fashion. A £5 voucher will come in handy as the "C" word approaches.
5. A cosy evening watching tv in the dark whilst OH is massaging my feet - heaven
Good night all x:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0
