    Evening all.

    1) My chrysanthemums are smothered in flowers - a particular pleasure as I got them for 50p from a RTC shelf, and they're still flowering their hearts out two years later. :money:

    2) Took LO veg noodles into work for lunch.

    3) NSD.

    4) Dug out a jar of chili jam I made this time last year and it's still good - I was a bit worried I hadn't sealed it properly and it might have gone off.

    5) The final episode of Torchwood is on shortly - I don't usually watch much television so it's nice to be able to join in TV-themed discussions at work for once.

Have a nice evening, all, and hugs to ampersand, Frith, Chickopolis, forever saving (and your DD), and anyone else feeling unwell / sad / stressed / whatever. (A colleague at work today offered to buy me a chocolate orange as I looked so sad, which is a lovely gesture even though I don't like chocolate. May you all have a cheering choccy orange or other treat of your choice! ;))
Back after a very long break!

    Evening all

    Mine for today

    1. Homemade yogurt for breakfast :D

    2. A lovely walk to and from school with the kids and then took the dog for a walk with the kids to the park.

    3. Cleaned kitchen and bathroom this morning

    4. Made fruit cake and fake donuts (from the quick and easy desserts thread). The kids loved them as their after school snack. :D

    5. Helped out in under 5's cooking at the school and made fairy cakes. Its weird not having one of my kids with me at places like that now.
  • 1) Two carrier bags full of cooking apple windfalls from a friend.

    2) Cleaned up the house and it was a beautiful day so cut the lawn afterwards.

    3) Rewarded myself with a coffee from the local cafe and got it for free on my loyalty card. Had to pay for the gluten-free brownie though. I wondered if it was rather sad to sit on my own in there and read the paper but actually it was extremely relaxing.

    4) Found some chilli in the freezer and ate it with our potatoes (wedges) and courgettes. Dessert (for everyone else) were some fancy biscuits from a tin I found in the cupboard. It was a little out of date but we've conveniently forgotten that.

    5) Managed to save a top that I'd mucked up (when cleaning behind the washer) by coating it in washing gel and then washing it.

    1. Successful visit to the dentist - if you discount the cost
    2. Girlie shopping with DD afterwards, I bought the clothes, she bought the lunch :)
    3. Postie brought me a phial of perfume which will do nicely as a stocking present
    4. Planted the Winter potatoes, pruned some shrubs, deadheaded what needed it and gave the patio a good wash down
    5. A friend came with a bag of chard and another of lovely string-free runner beans for me :)

(((Hugs))) to everyone who needs or wants, sweet dreams

    2. left over curry for tea - salvaged from the great freezer defrosting disaster of the day
    3. night out with girls last night for yet another curry
    4. friend bought round big bag of apples

    6. DD cooking tea the other night - and DS had made brownies at school. What a treat.

Feeling a bit fed up, so i'm off to bed.
I wanna be in the room where it happens
  • Good evening all. A late one for me tonight but it's been an eventful day with my ex trying to gain entry to the house. :-(
Anyway, that aside, it's been a beautiful day which has brought a few pleasures,
    1. Long walk with the dog in the morning sunshine.
    2. Car mended now with no cost to me.
    3. A lovely drive out towards Yorkshire to pick up my niece, then seeing the lake district mountains on the return journey.
    4. Another long walk with the dog in the afternoon sunshine.
    5. Running with my friend in the beautiful Lyth Valley.
As you can imagine both the dog and myself are now very tired. I can't help but make the most of the good weather. Off to bed now. Just had a lovely goodnight text from the man in my life. He's coming home tomorrow - Yay!!!
    Love to all. X

Frith - hope today has been a far better today for you m'dear, and hoorah for MrB being sensible and lovely x

Ampersand - hugs and reiki to you, hope your medicine starts working and you feel 100% ASAP!!

Ladyhawk - men can be so silly, maybe he's blowing hot and cold because of the office situation? I'd suggest asking him out for a coffee and being honest.......the older I get, the less I like men who don't know what they want from a relationship with me....

    1. The sun shone all day :)

    2. Worked from home as my leg was/is killing me and OH was feeling poorly, so not a huge pleasure in some ways, but not having to drive and walk around at the office will hopefully have helped me.....

    3. NSD :)

    4. Thank you to the wonderful nurse at our doctor's practice who treated OH this afternoon even though she wasn't even working, had just popped in for something and was nabbed by the doctor! Going to take her a box of choccies next week to say thank you :)

    5. Nice early night snuggled up with DD who has been looking after my poorly leg for me :)

How lovely to say thank you rather than find something to complain about. Good for you Kittikins :)

I don't normally post on here but I'm feeling a little low so think this may help me put things into perspective.

    1) Sunny all day here (well until about 5 mins ago, think it will rain soon!)

    2) Had a lovely swim today with DS a whole hour of one-to-one swimming, lots of laughter, smiles and fun and only £3.65 so pretty MS too

    3) Spent 2 hours gardening this pm which cost nothing, was good exercise, and has tidied up a small patch of garden

    4) Found a lovely waterproof jacket in a CS this morning. Have been on the lookout for a new one as my old one is beyond repair. Have been avoiding buying one for about 4 years because of the expense. This one looks brand new, and cost me £6. Rain is forecast for the weekend so I'll even get to try it out!

    5) Sent off 3 ebay parcels this am which declutters my house, and gives me much required ££££'s all of which makes me :)

I can even think of 3 more but I think I'll stick with these. It's amazing how many positive things you can think of when you try.
  • Afternoon all - feels like I've been away for ages, but it hasn't been all that long. Thought I'd count my blessings for today:

    1. A nice walk at lunchtime.
    2. The rain held off and it hasn't rained since.
    3. It's the weekend.
    4. Mr Kitchenbunny.
    5. Peace and quiet, sat at home and finding time to get back to OSiness.

Not overly mad, but I am happy with sitting here being quiet.
