Caterina - Have a lovely holiday.

Frith- I am glad Ladyhawk mentioned the "sleep over" ;) I was going to, but I have a tendancy to lower the tone on this thread :D Your posts exude happiness - I am happy for you x

CCP - I hope you are feeling more like CCP again tomorrow.

    5 for today

    1. Saw the Occupational Health Advisor at work. She was supportive and informative and the way ahead for me seems more positive. Not many people have had the rubbish spinal cord tumour that I have had and health professionals find this to be a bit of a "novelty".

    2. Receiving amusing messages from my nephew , after I told him to have a word with his sister who was not wearing many clothes and in my opinion, posing innaproprately on her facebook page photos.Gosh that made me sound old.

3.Picked some spinach from the garden which I have growing under chicken proof cloches. I was not quick enough as they "mugged" me
and one was happily munching away whilst she was held captive inside the cloche.

    4. Home made chicken and vegetable Pakoras for tea - using the recipes from "The Takeaway Secret " book. I used (hen pecked) spinach and potatoes from the garden ,and an an rtc chicken breast . They were delicious and very filling and cost around 90p in total to make as I had the spices and gram flour in the store cupboard:) Yum.

5.Gave away 18 eggs to my neighbours, always a pleasure for me to give rather than to receive .

    Have a good evening everyone
:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A
  • Good evening all and Happy Birthday to Ladyhawk and Millie2008. Chickenopolis, yes, he is a fine specimen of a man, especially in lycra! Caterina, I hope you have a wonderful time in Italy. CCP, why the sad face? (((Hugs))) to you. I've had a lovely day today. I'm off work this week so nothing exciting and spent most of it on my own, but still very enjoyable. My five for today (which don't, unfortunately include any more lycra clad men!),

    1. A big fat robin sat on my garden wall.
    2. A run first thing.
    3. A blustery walk with the dog. Dodging small tree branches!
    4. Homemade cottage pie for tea and one to freeze.
    5. Watching tv, under a blanket, drinking hot chocolate with DD.
Hope this finds you all safe and warm. X

    Evening all,

Thank you so much for the birthday wishes... and happy belated birthday to Millie. My day was a little dull, though I did only leave the house at 10am which was quite nice. I didn't get any presents... until I arrived at my oldest brother's house who met me at the door with a big bunch of flowers which were a nice surprise. He also got a takeaway for us and bought us each a cupcake. :)

    1) Nice morning pottering around the flat as I only needed to be at a meeting at 11am. So my kitchen is now tidy :)

    2) Loads of happy birthday from friends all over the world. After the near disaster of my birthday drinks it was nice to be reminded that some people do care.

    3) The sunshine

    4) Cuddles with my nephew and being given the honoured job of reading him his bedtime story. He had been a little fractous but settled down nice once I started reading to him. I have always had a problem reading out loud (I have a slight dyslexia issue) but the 5 month old didn't mind!

    5) Got a candle in my cupcake - the first birthday candle I have had in years!

    6) My brother have me a big bag of jars for my chutney/ curd/ jam making

    Night night all...

    L
    Man plans and God laughs...
Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.

    3. nsd, npd
    4. Was able to help a friend who was really stuck
    5. The wind has died down, nothing in my garden was knocked over and today has been a little breezy and beautifully sunny

Hello from day number 9 to go!

1.Hmmmm....not sure work was a pleasure, we were soooo busy & a staff member short. However we coped under the pressure, worked an hour extra so that will be a tiny bit more money at end of month (here was me determined to be away on time!) The girl who will be covering for me was in from start of my shift. We have such a laugh & she is very good company.

    2. On way back to carpark, I have to walk over a little bridge over a little river, it is always teaming with ducks & moorhens & is banked by trees full of lorikeets & cockatoos. Same old, same old......however, today there was a heron like bird being harrassed by 2 angry minah birds. So I stopped for a couple of minutes on the bridge & watched the attack!

3.Had to go & buy tickets for a concert DD2 will be in this weekend. More bloomin' money, however, I am sure it will be good.

4.Had something to eat with girls when out so no need to cook tonight. We had such a laugh, when I was telling them about my day!

5.I have 1 bag packed in anticipation !
