4) Cooked up some rhubarb with ginger and a splash of whisky - experimental but delicious.
CCP - purely in the interests of science eh?;)
beachbaby- Phwoooar Mark Cavendish - great quads , lovely smile . Lucky you!!! He's not a bad cyclist either
5 for today
1. Flamenco dancing hen at 6am. I let them out and my old hen did a flamenco dance - a lot like some David Attenborough footage of male birds of paradise with dramatic wing sweeping and foot stamping . OH said that she does this all the time - I must try and record it on my phone it was funny.
2. Banked £28 in change and utility rebate cheque. The £10 bag of 50ps went into the fund that I am saving for my brothers 50th in two years time -£140 so far- all from 50ps saved since January 2010.
3. Book "The Takeaway Secret" purchased for £1.99 - this will make a nice stocking filler for someone .... or me.
4. Made a pasta sauce with the huge tomatoes that my next door neighbour gave me. I added a basil stock cube - out of date from AF. Very OS and very nice.
5.Purchased 7 birthday cards for family members who have birthdays over the next couple of months . I spent a total of £2.29 and this will save me several journeys in to town as I am usually not this oganised . I am determined to make better use of my time and fuel !
Happy Birthday for tomorrow Ladyhawk:AToo fat to be Felicity Kendal , but aim for a bit more of the good life :A0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today;
1. Getting washing dried in the windy weather today
2. Pile of ironing done this morning before work
3. Not OS but pub lunch with a couple of friends from work. Nice to catch up
4. Lovely walk home from work. Nice to get some fresh air after a busy day stuck in the office
5. Busy evening when got in from work. Roast chicken for dinner with roasties and veg. Breadmaker on so a loaf now ready for tomorrows lunches. Fresh horseradish sauce made with horseradish from friends garden (it does make your eyes water). Bakewell tart made for pudding, yummy. Also had to sort out a work problem from home as well. Now just chilling with a glass of wine.
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Evening all!
It's my birthday today and I have been very un-OS, I'm afraid! In fact I got a shiny new Ipad  as a surprise pressie. I did however, after squealing with joy,.. pause and consider how many bales of hay it would have cost to buy it..
We went indoor skiing and out for dinner, so all in all a fab day and I shall be back to proper OS tomorrow (once I have figured out how to use my new toy!!)0 -
Welcome back Ampersand, and GET WELL SOON pretty please xx

2. Took out a fantastic new book from the library, half way through already
3. Went to a friend's for a cuppa and a natter whilst our DDs played after school
4. Bought some carpet cleaning stuff......wonder how long it'll take me to actually open the package

Happy birthday, Millie2008!
Here are my 5 or so for today.
1) Waking up with MrB. :-)
2) Boys off to school happily.
3) Went into Hereford then Ludlow with my mum. Went round the charity shops and got a lovely duffel coat for smaller son. (From M and S's Autograph range originally). Also treated myself to a little piece of Hereford Hop cheese!
4) Not money saving but found just the right size log basket.
5) Went to see the pigs (going for sausages next week).
6) Dad gave me some courgettes so I made a courgette quiche which came out really well. Had that for tea with some of yesterday's homemade bread.
7) Watching Dr Who on iplayer with sons, sitting in my bed with mugs of hot chocolate.
Good news also is that MrB is hoping to return here after work tomorrow. :-)0 -
