5 or so for today (Saturday).
1) Bit of a lie in.
2) Tidying up continues! Changed my bed, did washing etc and cleaned bathroom.
3) Had a cup of tea at my sister's after lunch.
4) Drove into town and had a cup of tea at my school friend's house.
5) Picked up a piano accordian that my sister is borrowing from another friend and took it home and bashed out a few tunes, very badly!
6) Went to my brother's birthday curry.
7) Hoping to catch MrB online in a bit.
Bad news though - I have an ancient Belfast sink in the kitchen and it has cracked!!! :-(0 -
hello, will post at a decent hour!
Been a seriously blustery day here, few showers & a very icy wind!
1.First thing, went to IKEA......for 3 items for work! Came back with slightly more than that!
OH loathes the place, I love it....slightly compromised & only did Market Place rather than traipse round the whole place! Free Cuppas with our Ikea Family card.
2.Home & washing & ironing sorted! OH made steak for slow cooker for steak pie tonight, DD1 tidied kitchen, DS hoovered, DD2 tidided sofas, cushions & throws & dusted. I did bathrooms.
3.Went on a run in the car to other side of city to pick something up OH had won on ebay. Nice to see another part of town but we all feel ours is nicer!
4.Stopped at library on way back. Apparently ,I have a book, which I am sure I returned. It has already been re-newed by staff to allow me time to 'look' for it! I have not found it & went in today to tell them . I have had to fill out a declaration form! They have renewed it until mid November......then I will probably have to pay for it!
5.More ironing done, have sat & munched my way through a whole packet of biscuits! Whoops!
6. We are having steak pie, potatoes, parsnips, turnip & carrot mash all RTC. Will probably do a quick cake whilst oven is on for pie. If I have room after my biscuits!
Enjoy your Sunday x0 -
Morning - lying in bed at my dad's catching up on the last few days, don't seem to have posted for a bit so here's mine for the last couple of days
1. DS getting man of the match at his football game yesterday
2. Lovely curry with dad last night
3. Watching tennis last night, what a fantastic game between Federer and Djokovic - no-one deserved to lose that
4. Soup and pud night on friday. Friend gave me several lb's of cooking apples and have no freezer space. So defrosted soup to make space, made 20 portions of apple crumble and remainder can fit in freezer :T
5. Saw a beautiful, complete rainbow last night
6. Ran 5 miles on Friday - only a week to go <<gulp>>
7. Lunch with MIL on Friday in M&S
Had a bit of a non MSE week - hubby lost several thousand in tax code issues, dishwasher broke, DD needs new specs, and OH hit a car with ours  everyone OK but going to be expensive.I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Five for today...
Getting ready for my dad's birthday meal at 2pm. It'll be fun to see all the family.
Yesterday I sorted Christmas (in theory!). Immediate family have agreed that we'll give home made gifts, so I've planned what I'm making and have ebayed the raw materials.
Watched two foxes eating windfall apples at dusk last night. As good as anything from David Attenborough!
Good news from work. My job is being made redundant but a new job is ringfenced for me (though salary might be a bit lower).
Dried apple and orange slices to make a wreath for the kitchen. House smells wonderful and the apple slices are yummy - might eat them rather than put them on the wall.
I love Autumn. Hope you all have a great day!0 -
Morning
Been missing in action for a couple of days. Friday would have been my oldest brothers 50th birthday so was thinking of him but there was still some pleasures.
Anyway pleasures for the last couple of days:
1. Took DD shopping to Westfield, she still had some money left that she was given for the summer that she wanted to spend. She bought the bits she wanted whilst not cheap she did shop around to get the best prices.
2. Lunch out with DD and yes we did use a voucher. In general had a lovley day which is what I needed.
3. Made some vegetable tempura using veg from friends garden, yummy with sweet chilli sauce
4. DD starting as a young leader at Rainbows. Only seems minutes since she was a rainbow herself
5. Family dinner at local chinese. We had a great night out. Much laughter and great food. Nice to walk home after to walk off having eaten too much
Hugs to all who need them0 -
Just a quick Bonjour, with apologies - back late yesterday, but in groggy ache-y pain, ill+voiceless all week. Adventures, adventures, but need Dr H's help asap demain. MUST be well for big Antiques Fair in London next Sunday. Had one big theft, nvmos for a week after bank cards were corrupted, police protection, run into etc.etc. but was helped by a marvellous qu!becquoise in Valence[a new 'amiti! à vie'].
Will catch up slowly on all your pleasures, but saw Frith has happiness with Mr B and sth re: juggling, which reminded me of:

Good afternoon. What horrid blustery weather we are having. Anyway, a good excuse to stay in and read MSE. My five for today,
1. An early morning cup of coffee in bed.
2. Not having to go out in this weather so have been able to sit and read my book.
3. No cooking to be done this evening. Just going to have a salad, so only need to throw everything in together!
4. Cups of tea on demand courtesy of OH.
5. Freezer well stocked so I have meals for every evening this week.
Hope everyone is cosy and warm. Love to all. X0 -
Hello there!
This is a really interesting/inspiring thread. Weather not to bad in Manchester today....heres my 5 for today:
1. Cleaned the entire bathroom top to toe.
2. Took son to the local park and spent an hour there.
3. Making fish, mash potato and veg (plus extra for bubble and squeak - tomorrow's tea!)
4. Spending rest of the afternoon drinking fresh coffee from my coffee machine and browsing tinternet (son watching disney films/making lego towers!)
5. And tonight will watch xfactor with a hot choc I think.
Was hoping for a NSD but had to get some salt from the shop, had slug trails in my kitchen this morningSingle working mummy to 3 year old cheeky monkey DFD: July 2016 - Tesco Loan [STRIKE]£14,000[/STRIKE] £13,490 / Owe dad ([STRIKE]£500[/STRIKE]£450 / Very account £[STRIKE]70[/STRIKE]60 / Overdraft £270 = Total (Jul11 [STRIKE]£14,940[/STRIKE] Now £14,300 (Paid off £670) Need to lose 14lb (3/14) (currently [STRIKE]11st12[/STRIKE] 11st9) Deseparately need a holiday for 2012 (£0/£1000) - Car Fund (£0/£1500) - Christmas Savings (£70)

Evening all.
Miss Orangey Goodness - welcome to the thread! You have my sympathy over the slug problem - I woke up one morning last week to find shiny trails all over my living room carpet, and it took me days to find the culprit - a HUGE snail that was hiding behind my clothes drying rack!
ampersand - welcome back, and I hope you feel much better right NOW!
1) A very long lie-in this morning - there's something immensely cosy about lying in bed listening to gale-force winds throwing rain against the windows, knowing you don't have to get up and go anywhere in it.
2) Chatting on the phone to my grandmother, who's in the process of moving in to her new house. :j She's particularly chuffed with all the edible plants left in the garden by the previous owners - courgettes, tomatoes, red and black currants, raspberries and rhubarb - and they're just the ones I can remember!
3) Watching the grand prix this afternoon - a good race if you enjoy watching bits of car flying around (and who doesn't?).
4) I still haven't got round to making the courgette / marrow cake I've been talking about for ages, but it means I've got some marrow left for dinner instead.
5) Trying to decide whether to stay at home tonight, curled up with a book, or whether to fight my way through the wind and rain to the pub quiz - it's nice to have two pleasant options to choose from.
Have a very pleasant evening, all, weather aside!Back after a very long break!0 -
Today for me so far..
1. Had a bit of a lie in, well 8am is a lie in for me as no ponies today
2. Was in a meh mood, so OH took me to the Ludlow food festival
3. Food festival wasn't terribly MSE as we spent a fortune on yummy stuff
4. I was forced (!) to taste some local cider!
5. Home now, time for a cuppa tea and a chill out
Hope you are all having a fab day xx0
