Evening...
I had a car incident todayThe car in front of me looked like it was going at a roundabout and I gave it a little tap. The guy seemed reasonable so fingers crossed it will all be ok.
1) Left home at 9am to get to a meeting at Swindon - M25 was a breeze for once
2) Did the washing up before leaving so the kitchen is looking vaguely reasonable
3) Popped in to see my DB, FSIL and darling nephew. I got lots of cuddles and helped bath him - for some reason he was a absolutely enthralled by me (usually he is too busy puking on me to take much notice!)
4) Did a load of washing before heading out this morning
5) Had a really good 121 with my boss. We agreed to go with a slightly more expensive supplier as the cheaper one made my skin crawl. Glad to have his support!
Righteo - I have to finish writing a presentation I need to deliver tomorrow to an exceptionally important client... eek...
LMan plans and God laughs...Perhaps travel cannot prevent bigotry. But by demonstrating that all people cry, laugh, eat, worry and die, it introduces the idea that if we try to understand each other, we may even become friends.0 -
Hiya
Mine for today
1. Caught the end of the sunrise at the beach this morning. Georgous although slightly worrying as it means it will be dark at that time soon.
2. Chocolate yogurt is a hit, surprisingly, and kids ate it for breakfast, ds1 had 2 bowls!!!
3. Walked on school run in the sunshine, then walked to lidl in more sunshine, then walked to asda in yet more sunshine and it hammered down about 10 mins after i got in!I stayed dry, shame about the washing!!
4. Homemade rolls for the whoopsie premium sausages we had for tea. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
5. Bumped into the teacher who runs the kids cooking class and was asked to help out now that none of mine go. Cant wait! Starts next Thursday.0 -
Well, I've got a massive amount done today - nothing to show for it, though!
Here are my 5:
1) Boys off the school cheerfully and not the usual rush we have of a morning.
2) Phone call from a friend of mine.
3) CLEANING! Did the boys' room, changed their bunkbeds, sorted toys, hoovered and washed the curtains (!) Dusted and tidied my room, cleaned the kitchen a bit.
4) Got the fireguard back from mum and dad's (where I was storing it) and fitted it around the stove ready for some fires...
5) Quite a tasty tea. Brocolli and pasta cheese followed by blackberry and apple crumble.
6) Boys played well with Action Men so I got on with the garden while they were playing outside. Weeded, swept and took down the sweet pea tripod thing.0 -
Evening
Pleasures for today,
1. DD getting out of the door on time this morning and I didn't have to shout one
2. More washing line dried, basket nearly empty again
3. Huge pile of ironing done
4. Lovely beef casserole in the slow cooker using some RTC beef that was lurking in the freezer
5. HM bread made ready for sandwiches / breakfast tomorrow
6. Food shopping done and under budget :money:which is just as well as taking DD to Westfield tomorrow:eek:
Hugs to all who need them0 -
1. Found the only boxed bottle of ruby port within 3 counties, I think, for DM to give to DB and DSiL for their Ruby Wedding Anniv. Took a 4 day search but I got it!
2. Had fun in the nail salon this morning trying to keep two enormous balloons, a 4 and an 0, in their bag. They were weighted but kept trying to escape, much to the amusement of a group of teens sitting outside a cafe across the lane
3. Postie brought me a fleece beanie hat. It may not look as elegant as it might but as my ex used to say, any idiot can get cold
4. Went to the hairdresser this pm, went to pay and my debit card was declined . Offered my other one and the same happened...embarrassing or what?! Arranged to go in tomorrow with the cash then flew home in a panic to check my accounts on line. All seemed well so phoned the salon who apologised profusely as it had happened to 2 other clients after I left, it was definitely their machine. Phewww!
Worn out with all this sitting in salons today! Night night

oh Sparrer, I'd have been mortified too! Actually, that's just reminded me that I must call one of my credit card companies to ask for a replacement card as the chip is wearing away......too much use? Probably, but its not the first time this company has had to replace a card, so I think they use a cheap supplier. Well, that's my story and I'm sticking to it!!
Yesterday's delights:
1. Nice piece of cake at work from a colleague who was belatedly celebrating her birthday
2. Finally posted 2 out of 3 things I've sold on Amazon, hope the customers won't mind I was a day late in posting....
3. Did a Reverbe and found 1p on the pavement and selflessly gave it to DD for her moneybox
4. Picked up OH's prescription from the chemist and had a nice chat with the pharmacist
5. An old friend popped in for a cuppa and a good chat, haven't seen her for a couple of years, so it was a lovely surprise.
6. Work was good again - this new working arrangement is lovely for me
Got lots on today, but thankfully will be at home to do it!0 -
My 5 for today..
1. Walk dog in the woods and have soem thinking time (done)
2. Stay at home day, so catching up on house stuff
3. Going to try to zoom through house stuff, then take dog to see the horses and have a cup of tea and watch them graze for a while
4. Then make some bits of jewellery later, with a DVD on
5. Won't be a NSD as I need to get some mince to make chilli for dinner and some eggs, but no unnecessary spends. Breakfast and lunch from stores0 -
Can hardly believe it's Friday night again. I have had a very busy, demanding week at work, however , it has been noted & just got a nice text from my manager , thanking me for my hard work this week!
1.2 weeks till I go home!
2.saw bluebells on the way home from work.
3.had a very nice tea.....got mega reduced souvlaki bread (got 2 packs & 2 of pitta RTC for freezer) so had that with a roast chicken (cheaper to buy cooked than fresh!) and a lovely salad.
4.Free strawbs & cream for pud.
5.went to op shop & got a pair of trousers for work, a short cardigan & a top for me & a lovely top for DD1.
Yesterday:
1.erm.....that was a whole day ago! A very, busy day at work. So glad when it was over!
2. Picked up DD2 en-route home!
3.Nice call with one of my best friends, looking forward to seeing her in 2 weeks!
4.Lovely tea of mince & tatties, carrots & turnips & green beans all RTC.
Made a pear & apple crumble using fruit from my $2 bag of fruit & veggies I got on Wednesday.
5.Early night .0 -
Evening all.
Millie - I love reading your horse pleasures - one of the sad things about living in a city is that I rarely get to see any horses. My parent's horse likes to give me an affectionate headbutt when I see him - unfortunately he's quite strong so the affection nearly always ends with me stumbling across the field while he stands and laughs at me!
sparrer - I'm glad it wasn't your cards which were at fault - that must be so embarrassing wondering what you've done wrong (particularrly when the answer turns out to be 'nothing').
Ladyhawk - I'm glad your car incident was only minor and no-one (and no car) was seriously damaged.
My 5 for today:
1) Today's training session went off well, and cheered me up nicely as it always does.
2) Rescued some leftover fruit to bring home with me.
3) NSD.
4) Got to leave work a little bit early as I was in work early and worked through lunch.
5) Deciding to be very OS and make pizza tonight rather than buying a ready made one as I'd intended. I've got all the ingredients so there's really no reason to buy one except laziness.
Have a very pleasant Friday evening, all (Saturday evening for you, mhagster, of course!)
Back after a very long break!0 -
